In these video tutorials, I normally use Bakels Premixes to save on time.
(Bakels is a bakery grade cake premix. Another great one is Allied Mills)

I use these butter based cakes above because they are sturdy under fondant and stable at room temperature, as are the muds.

WHITE CHOCOLATE GANACHE RECIPE:
For this cake I didn't need much at all. The recipe I used was:
90 grams white chocolate
30 grams heavy cream
1. combine the two ingredients and zap in the microwave for 30 seconds.
2. Stir well, and pop back into the microwave for another 10 seconds if the chocolate hasn't dissolved completely. Drip over cake as desired.
Thank you for watching! I have been in the mood for something colourful for quite some time and realized, I have never actually made a striped cake on this channel. In all honesty, striped cakes using buttercream was always daunting for me because I am extremely anal about home well the colours blend. I'm about 85% happy with the results of this cake ;) But once you add on all the decorations, it really looks just fine. I will be making this cake again for my dads birthday this weekend, but with black and white stripes, gold drip and chocolate decorations (ohhh yeaaahh..)

The warm tray for chocolate shards was a great tip! My white chocolate set real quickly when I made some 'galaxy bark' for a 1st birthday cake, so I'll use this technique next time!

I'm glad you mentioned condensation as I crumb coated then put in fridge n then frosted but with difficulty as it had a lot of condensation as I didn't know to bring it to room temperature before I decorate

Your tip worked perfectly by adding a bit of vegetable oil to white chocolate...the drip firmed up even at room temperature...thanks once again

I know you posted this several months ago, but I have been binge watching your videos that past few days! I just started making cakes myself and I find your videos so helpful. But I do have a question, do you do any of your cakes with whipped frosting instead of buttercream? I feel like buttercream works better but my mom really loves whipped frosting so I'm trying to figure out what I can do with whipped frosting for her! Thank you!!

Love the colors you'll do for your dad, very classy! I find it interesting the here in America, all of our cake psnd are even numbers....4,6,8,10,etc. and down under and abroad they use odd numbered sixes, 5,7,9,etc. Is it because of the decimal system ?
lynn jepson thank you hun for the comment! ❤ actually I think we are mixed here, I switched to using odd number in tutorials because the cake just looks that bit larger in video compared to 6 inch and 4 inch 😅 its a little more appealing. But when I worked at the bakery we mostly worked in even numbers when it came tp tiered cakes. I guess it depends who you ask ;)

I'm baking the exact same design on some special occasion soon.
Planning on making this for my bday hopefully it turns out good I've not worked with alot of buttercream before I usually make it with whipped cream but it ends up melting have u got any tips on how to not let the whipped cream melt I'm going all out with this cake I'm making homemade macrons tried some for test out today and they were perfect got the recipe from Emma's goodies and I might make meringe cookies for this tysmmm for this design its beutifullllll hope mone turns as good alsoo is there any way to make the golden dust without alcohol and do u think instead of gold drips will a milk cholate one work aswell??
So to decorate with whipped cream just fold in some Mascarpone cheese. This will stiffen your whipped cream and the mascarpone taste like cream so it’s great for making whipped cream sturdier

Hi hun, in Australia I buy them from Bake Boss, Susie Q, Cake Deco in the city, Pak N Save in Tullamarine and lastly Australian Flour Power in Broadmeadows. I hope that helps somewhat!
