    Good vid, I’m from Scotland and been breeding them for past 3 years, I find a jar with Java moss in it,placed in corner of tank really works well... I’ve had hundreds of eggs..and collect them on the daily. Best fish in the hobby by far🤟🏻

    Wow, that is awesome how fast they bred! Obviously you have taken great care to dial in the water parameters, which is such a motivation to me. I have wanted to breed some of my danios, and to see how easy it can be is really inspiring to me. Keep up the great work, and thank you for encouraging us to try to do the same!

    I wish I had luck with my cpd’s. I had 6 and 3 passed away when I got them and I’ve grown up the 3 that’s left and I have 2 females and 1 male. I have them in a 10 gallon tank with a deli cup full of Java moss and sometimes I trade the moss in for a breeding mop but unfortunately I never get any luck 😞 I don’t get what’s going on? And it’s not cuz they’re scared cuz these 3 guys come right up to the front of the tank when I walk up so idk what it is?!?! Waters good I feed them good?!?!

    Hi Mark, not quite as quick as the breeding-in-the-bag fish, but very interesting how quickly they have spawned!! Can you quantify your live food 'feeding up' regime - do you feed lots of live food several times a day, or just supplement live food say once a day with normal 'flake' feeding morning or evening? Thanks in advance.

    Great vid Mark thanks. I noticed your water flow seems really low though, the filter on the left doesn't seem to be pushing out any flow and the right one very weak, this will probably lead to warm and cold spots in the tank. Or did you reduce the flow to reduce noise for the vid? Cheers

    Another great video Mark.
    Apart from being an enjoyable watch it may have given me the answer to a huge dilemma I have.
    I have a pair of German blue rams that I'm trying to breed the only problem is the female keeps eating the fry.
    When you took out the Rasbora eggs and placed them in a separate tank I wondered whether I could do the same thing with my rams fry?
    I don't have another tank cycled so I believed moving the fry was out of the question. I do however have another tank and a heater, can I just part fill the tank with water from the rams tank and place the fry into it?
    Really hope you can answer this for me.
    Many thanks, Ray and Armin.
    Munich Germany.

    • @MARKSAQUATICS
      @MARKSAQUATICS  5 лет назад

      Hi. Rams are notorious for eating fry, you can move the fry to your other tank no problem just do regular water changes ok. And keep the fry food low don't over feed ok.

    • @raymondt7908
      @raymondt7908 5 лет назад

      @@MARKSAQUATICS Thanks Mark.
      I actually changed my plans. The male has always been really good with the fry, he picks them up if any stray to far and he's always protecting them. I decided to move the female into my community tank. There were several reasons why I decided to do this, one was to see if the male would raise the fry on his own plus he was really giving the female a hard time. He wouldn't let her anywhere near the fry plus I've noticed he's been biting at her tail fin.
      I can only hope moving her was the right thing to do.
      Again many thanks for taking the time to reply, it is much appreciated.

    I've just bought 3 galaxy rasporas (could only afford 3 atm as they were $16 each )ideally I'd like about atleast 7.
    Iv actually placed them in with my 5 sparkling gouramis in their 46 litre tank. So far so good, the sparklings do shoosh them away if they're in their corner of territory and when they’re trying to spawn but from what iv seen so far just an "scare them off chase/not quite a nip" to get them away”. I'm getting a custom 100cm long x 30 tall x 26 wide tank made soon and I have different options for it. Either the sparklings alone/ or with another type of compatible fish,,, or the rasboras in that custom tank with another compatible fish. (or the gouramis in with the rasboras?
    May I have your thoughts on compatible fish.
    I'd like to breed both or either so that's marked it hard to have them with another species.
    Oh, I'd probably invest in several pigmy Cory's for cutness/cleaning.
    I will still have two spare tanks, the 46 litre bow front and a 26 litre bow front for which ever doesn’t go into the custom. I also have an existing 60 litre with 2 quite smallish electric (neon) blue dwarf rams housed with 7 black neon tetras and 1 long finned bronze Cory, oh...lol forgot my lil breeding tank with 16 8 week old peacock gudgeon fry (waiting for them to grow so I can sell).
    My mind is open.....so if I feel some fish won’t fit in with the dynamics of the custom tank or other tanks I’m willing to rehome them n rethink what I’d like. Hard decision trying to suss out what type of fish are compatible with other especially when they are quite small nano size fish . Cheers Lisa in Perth
