    Well done Ian and Sota! Enjoyed that. And that's an excellent time, on a tough course. Big respect! The video would have been even better still, if it started at 3:35. At this stage it briefly introduced the two runners and we could move on to enjoying the race.

    Awesome video mate. I think you’re into something with these park run videos. Really awesome content that no one is really doing well on RUclips. You should travel around filming PB attempts at different park runs, I’d watch that for sure!!

      Thanks mate! That was a strategy on the day to launch attacks to the top and pile on the pressure which certainly paid dividends☺️ Our next head to head will be on a flatter course on the Greenway parkrun which as you watched this vid, would favour Sota much more. I'll need another strategy to give myself any chance of 2 from 2 (but I won't reveal anything until after the battle is done). In the meantime, watch this space and may the best man win👊

    Sota, don't You think You started to fast? 3:12, when avg for sub18 is 3:35? I mean, I know You're much faster, almost two minutes and sub16 is coming for You !
    You want on purpose to start like that? Ian did great job. He's improving a lot!
    I wanna try to do sub18 this year. Any tips? :D

    • @ianzhou5681
      @ianzhou5681 3 года назад

      Thanks mate!😍 As you can hear at around the 13 min mark, this course has a significant net downhill on the first k so you do tend to go a bit faster in the first k than the rest. As for trying to break 18, focus on getting the intervals, getting good recovery efforts, long run and keeping the mileage consistently up each week. As long as you can do all that and be injury free, you'll see continual progress as the weeks go by👍

    • @InFeSs
      @InFeSs 3 года назад

      @@ianzhou5681 Yes, I saw that uphill which is really huge and back You go down. I still think Sota should go negative split and easy.
      For You Ian congratz on new PB. You really improving a lot and I'm jealous :)
      I'm doing what U wrote. About 80k per week, intervals, long runs and even hard steady run like 39:15 recently 10k. Is that ok?
      Cheers from central Europe, Poland :)

    • @ianzhou5681
      @ianzhou5681 3 года назад

      @@InFeSs that is a similar amount of mileage to what I am doing in a week. One thing I used to not do enough of was the easy stuff. I reckon this present day about 25-30k of that is significantly slower than 5 min pace. What's always important is being able to recover and keeping the legs fresh possible thus just doing some filler runs at a slow pace could really help. Overall, the hard stuff harder, the easy stuff easier and more of it should take you a long way - all the best!

    • @InFeSs

      @UCKsYwUr7O2R2Bp6Pn1yV0fw Thanks a lot!
      I mean, I started preparations for 2021 since 2020 november, so it's almost 4 months hard working after "one week reset". Like I wrote i training intervals, steady runs, treshold runs, long runs and Like You wrote - easy I'm doing about 5:30 min/ km so it's should be ok. Right? Maybe You can check my sessions on strava and let me know about something that I can improve? Recently I have really cold winter so I need to train at gym treadmill(afwull stuff) but You would see all my tranings. Maybe You find some more tips for me :D

Initially we were thinking May 1 at Greenway but now it's almost certain to be happening this month! Keep checking in on Sota's channel and we'll promise to announce a date :-)
