Trad is great. Took my buck with a hackberry flat bow from a tree I cut down. 68” long and draws 54 lbs at 28”. Build my arrows with POC, wild goose fletch and 160 gr 2 blade Zwickey’s. Very satisfying
Nice buck! I lived in Ohio from 1942 - 1961 in the country and saw but two does and one buck in that time. )In my spare time I was either operating ham radio, or in the woods on foot or by horse back.)
Awesome and With traditional bow even more exciting. Glad you came clean on the shot. I’m sure you put your time in. But we’re human and traditional equipment reminds of that for sure. Look forward to see more Again congrats
Its unbelievable how only a couple inches off, can make a real big difference in a recovery or not, certainly on a big mature buck like this one. Love a close traditional or primitive hunt.
Congratulations that's a great buck! Nicely done and love the traditional bow style, seems to be getting to be a lost art these days and I really enjoy seeing people get out with traditional setups, once again, congrats on the great buck!
@@RockIslandguy The bow is a vintage Bear Grizzly, 45lbs. The arrows are Loss Creek Arrows (cedar shaft) w/125gr Magnus 2-blade broadheads. Arrow weight comes in around 510-520 ( if I remember correctly).

They were rare back then. My dad told me in the 60’s if a guy saw a deer track in the mud, it was a big deal. Thanks for watching!

It pays to keep looking
