I took a 2 week trip out through Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah from Kansas in late August to the first week of September. I went road tripping solo and had a blast. I hiked, explored, experienced, met and friended people. It was such an experience. It was freeing and this song really hit me like you know when a song moves you and connects on a deeper level. This song was that. When the line "Let it be said, let it be known, he who is free, is never alone" came that is when it hit. I don't usually gush over a song in the youtube comments but it was that. One of those songs that when time passes by and I revisit for a listen, it will take me back to the special times I had.
To the freedom fighters To the Everest climbers To the castaway To the midnight riders To the spark igniters I am on my way Let it be said Let it be known He who is free is never alone The path before us The world behind us I will wait for you there I am on my way I am on my way To the lost ark raiders To the lion tamers To the stowaway To the white tired chaser To the black flag raiser I am on my way Let it be said Let it be known He who is free is never alone The path before us The world behind us I will wait for you there I am on my way I am on my way I am on my way I am on my way There is a song singers know Lost alone and far from home Golden galleons, golden guns to find their place under the sun There is a song on the sahara wind that lifts you to your feet again The dance is on the clockwork stars The pulse is through a beating heart I am on my way There is a song singers know Lost alone and far from home I am on my way Golden galleons, golden guns to find their place under the sun I am on my way There is a song on the sahara wind that lifts you to your feet again I am on my way The dance is on the clockwork stars The pulse is through a beating heart I am on my way
After the break there are a few messed up lines. "There is a song singers know" should be "There's a song that sailors know" and "The dance is on the clockwork stars, the pulse is through a beating heart" should be "That dances on the clockwork stars, that pulses through your beating heart"
That moment when the synth solo begins, I don't know...it destroys me every time. Every hope, every positive thought, every small love I have in my heart blooms unexplainably. I'm not sure if that even makes sense, but it's just how I feel. It's unbelievably beautiful. I truly I hope I make it to the Chicago show this March and can experience this song live, I know it would be an unforgettable moment in my life.
I thought I found the one for me a while ago. She told me she loved me, I knew I loved her. The time I spent with her made me feel like no other time in my life, like nothing else in the world mattered and that I could just be myself. A liberating feeling. Come to learn later that she was seeing another man behind my back and had been since before she started seeing me. She lied about it right up until the end. I felt horrible but *_this song right here_* was what kept me going. Knowing that I'm not alone, with such an upbeat feel that makes me look forward to the future. Why this one particularly? I couldn't say. But... it just did. Thank you, Mr. Lyle and Mr. McEwan, your music is inspiring, empowering, life changing and life saving. Never take that for granted.
@MortifiedAlias I've been there.4 years back and fourth. She tells me she loved me and still seeing this other guy.I knew she was, but,I thought shed change. But,she never did.I really loved her.did that girl ever try to contact u anymore?
I just want to express how grateful I am for your music. You're changing lives. I've turned to your music countless times over the years when I'm in need of something to give me hope.
Skate boarding home after watching back to the Future at the theater. Listening to KROQ on my walkman. Wow the memories and nostalgia this song invokes.
Found them a couple months back. I haven’t stopped listening since… This may be my favorite, river of darkness is up there. Ah, maybe it’ll always change with how I feel. Anyways - timeless music. I appreciate it so much, it’s so powerful and soothing. Much love ❤️
The Midnight are evolving, experimenting, changing, trying new things and so it's no wonder that every album sounds different yet somehow many songs seem to be similar in theme, notes or melody. Having experienced synth in the form of Vangelis, Mike Oldfield or Jan Hammer in my early teen years i must say that the midnight doesn't replicate or simply copy them but for me is like a puzzle piece that was missing for more than 30 years and now perfectly complements what was started so long ago in the synth genre. Keep exploring guys, so much has been (re-)discovered and yet so much possibilities lie ahead, i'll ride along for sure!
I'm going through a very rough patch right now and I'm trying to be hopeful about the future. Thank you, The Midnight, for this number that is so inspirational and hopeful. Love y'all and so does my 6 year old son.
This song brings back so many memories. As a 90s kid who grew up in the 90's and early 2000's this song is so nostalgic as it can brings back images of my childhood.
The definition of worry-free, peaceful, beautiful and bright all swirled together. It is time to stop fighting it. The Midnight has a special place in my heart. Please come to St Louis!!!!
Man its beautiful to think that no matter how many times you listen to this song, you could never really get enough of it because of how much it hits you in your feelings with helping you remember the good times and although there were some bad times along the way, the one thing that is certain is that we're still on our way.
One of the best songs I've ever heard from one of the best bands I've ever heard...makes my hair stand on end...don't know how they got this one so right
I close my eyes and when I open them ... I am in the 80s ... in front of my television, with a bowl full of cereal and milk ... watching my favorite saturday morning cartoons and then playing with my Nintendo! Thanks from my heart Midnight...You made me relive those beautiful times that will never come back ... but they will live forever in my heart!
One word to describe the 80's = MAGIC !!! The present generation might be having instant taxis, instant food deliveries, the internet, facebook and the promise of millions through guided entrepreneurship, but I think i'm so lucky to be born in 1981. There was a certain magic in the air during that decade. Women were so gorgeous, friends were so loyal, teachers were so angelic, cops on the street would smile and wave back when I waved at them, shopkeepers would treat everyone with politeness, movie halls were not seen by us as multiplexes, but as temples of rare entertainment. I still remember 5-6 Air-Hostesses cuddling me on a flight when I was 8 years old and started crying looking for my mom. How could they imagine an 8 year old peeping into their soft milky white bosoms. Every sunday would be Street Hawk or GI Joe or Masters of the Universe on TV, with the whole family cousins huddled together. We were allowed VHS rentals only once in 2 months. Back to the Future, E.T, Superman, Robocop, Indiana Jones, Rambo, Top Gun, Ghostbusters and Star Wars were released then.(All the franchises that are still the most profitable and which the studios are still trying to milk through remakes and the directors still try to emulate) "What you looking at Butt-head?", "Hello, Anybody home?" became common phrases thrown around teasingly. We watched each and every scene with glued attention. Because if you slip, you had to rewind the tape. Sometimes the tape would get stuck and we would take out the head cleaner spray. Spielberg, Christopher Reeve, Michael Jackson, George Lucas and Eddie Murphy ruled the movies. The toys from He-Man and GI Joe were our badge of honor in school. The kid in school who had Castle Grayskull was considered the Master of the School's Universe. He would let us play with it and if he became good friends, he would let us take it home with us for just a day. Every once in a while would be Michael Jackson's "Bad" album played with me jumping on the bed. His music was pure joy. Gorbachev became the USSR President. For some reason, he was liked by all us kids as the good uncle. The Berlin wall fell one night and there was sounds of loud cheering blaring from the TV. We had never seen the kind of euphoria and celebration before by so many people before. For us kids, we could't explain it, but it was as if the Second World War had ended............ And all of this as kid living in India. God knows the kind of bliss American kids were drenched in, every day and night. THEN WE GREW UP, AND OUR HEARTS DIED. But......REMEMBER, NO GOOD THING EVER DIES, HOPE IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING EVER. I always hoped that the 80's would come back. And it's coming back slowly. Thank you Midnight and Thank you RUclips !
I’m alone in my room drinking and I play this album and this song helps me feel better and closer to Synth Wave and why I fell in love with it. The Midnight have cracked the code, see you guys last show of tour in UK, 2nd night in Scala, London 💜💙🎆🌃👾🌌
I can't wait to see them perform in Vegas tonight! It's my one night to travel time in altered reality where the world feels glittering, happy and abound with opportunity.
Something magnificent about this song for me is that I can listen to it when I’m having a bad day or I’m really stressed and defeated and it can retroactively change my perspective. When I listen to this when I’m feeling like that it makes me feel like I’m in the future and looking back at this very moment but with nostalgia and not dread or regret. It’s unbelievable.
Love this song♥️ especially going out, on a simple drive by with my Jeep Wrangler with my windows down, enjoying the sunsets, the night sky... just perfect♥️.
This song gave me enormous hope when I took an unplanned leave for a short escape from my stressful job. I was at risk of losing my job but listening to this song during the trip gave me courage to look forward for a bright future ahead.
This song makes me feel nostalgic or alerts me that I’m missing something in my life. Is college even worth it? Why am I spending my days over this when I could be exploring and living life to the fullest?
A long time ago this song helped me to get out of a very dark abyss, and listening to it again, it just gives you a lot of hope. It makes you feel a great resilience, and that no matter how bad it comes, you can with it and more.
He who is free is never alone
Let it be said

Your profile picture seems like it could use a update ik a thing or two about making that kind of art
The Lucky and Plucky Joestar Bloodline!
"Days of Thunder" was a Classic
"Endless Summer" was Nostalgic
"Nocturnal" was Melancholic
"Kids" is Euphoric
Epsilon I'm just discovering all their music now I can't get enough going through all the albums on Spotify it's gold
Peter Smyth Enjoy the ride, It's gonna be one of the best experiences
I think "Kids" is a mix of nostalgia and euphoria
All of their albums encapsulate the feeling of mono no aware in very different ways and i love it!!
Endless Summer and Kids are the best of the bunch for me!
If the 80's could be described as an emotion, this song is that emotion.
Perfeito 🎵
The nostalgia this song brings to me is beyond tangible. Happy tears.
“I am on my waaaaaaay...”

There is a song singers know
Lost alone and far from home
Golden galleons, golden guns to find their place under the sun
There is a song on the sahara wind that lifts you to your feet again
The dance is on the clockwork stars
The pulse is through a beating heart
I am on my way
There is a song singers know
Lost alone and far from home
I am on my way
Golden galleons, golden guns to find their place under the sun
I am on my way

❤️ Such a Amazing song !!!

This album is a magnum opus. Every song is gigantic. Masterpiece
This song makes me love an era I have not lived in
I thought I found the one for me a while ago. She told me she loved me, I knew I loved her. Cheers to that mate 👍 I have been there as well 🙏
It probably resonates with your frequency. I hope you find a person who does the same. For a lot of us, it’s not easy.
Blessed sounds - it feels like endless years ago since i felt this way. Perhaps 1980 when i first heard "Wheel in the Sky" from JoUrNeY...
"Let it be said, let it be known! He who is free is never alone!"
That line hits HARD. Especially these days
a late night drive with the cold fresh air and this song playing is so soothing.
Lost Boy, America 2 and Explorers are my favorites on this album. Thanks The Midnight for all your hard work. Great Music!
America 2 had me on repeat but Explores hit a part of my being. Love it!
Lost Boy all the way!! ❤❤❤❤
I would like to go back to 1985. I was 7 years old and it was pure magic.
That synth break man.....oh man...............more of this please !
Finally, I found you about 30 minutes ago and I can't stop to listen all track of you. thanks, my life better now.
Doesn’t just remind me of my childhood. This makes me feel hopeful for the future, come what may.
I remember when a mall use to look like that. So many awesome memories. Kids these days really missed out. Let's all just be excellent to each other.
I had to comment on this when I saw that date. On that day shown, October 18 1985, I had just turned 5 years old.
In that year, my childhood, the happiest time of my life
Best song in album hands down...
venictos Lost Boy as for me, but every song gives a new emotion so i think any midnight song does the job
I couldn't agree with you more
Every time I step into The Midnight's soundscape, I walk away elevated.
Found them a couple months back. I haven’t stopped listening since… This may be my favorite, river of darkness is up there. Ah, maybe it’ll always change with how I feel. Anyways - timeless music. I appreciate it so much, it’s so powerful and soothing. Much love ❤️
Traveling back to the 80s with a flood of good memories.
Oh to be back in the 80’s man what a simple time it was back then I sure miss it 😊 what decade to be a Teenager in😊

This band is a golden galeon.
Thank you Midnight!! It takes me back to 1983...
I'm going through a very rough patch right now and I'm trying to be hopeful about the future. Thank you, The Midnight, for this number that is so inspirational and hopeful. Love y'all and so does my 6 year old son.
From a rando on the net, hope that rough patch is smoother now

I can't stop listening to this. It's such a feel-good hit.
The Midnight has my heart.
smoooooooth and relaxing 👌🤟
This is at hands down the best romantic/nostalgic song ever written and composed, simply a very and true exemple of what real art is.
The whole album is brilliant
This is one of the most beautiful, emotional and wistful songs I have ever heard. Amazing.
This is simply a gorgeous song, for any generation or genre.
More people should know about this great piece of genius. Then again, most people don’t appreciate brilliant music
The definition of worry-free, peaceful, beautiful and bright all swirled together. It is time to stop fighting it. The Midnight has a special place in my heart. Please come to St Louis!!!!

One of the best songs I've ever heard from one of the best bands I've ever heard...makes my hair stand on end...don't know how they got this one so right
Tim's solo at the end, oh man, goosebumps every time. Then a lump in my throat. 💜
These guys are so underrated.

One day, I'll find my future wife and we'll cruise to this on the coastlines
Same here man...
I don't expect this to happen before the 2100s, and she'll almost certainly be an android.
do it in a Fiero
Extra cringey.
I feel ya, man...
I like exploring in youtube music but this... I'll be sticking with this retro genre as it fit for dawn driving as I go home.
It's amazing what music can make us feel.
"let it be said, and let it be known, he who is free, is never alone"
