This app is so great Adam. I immediately purchased it. I have a little bit of a technical question, and couldn't find any info in the documentation. It seems like all the SuperSource boxes fly in from the left side when going from anything fullscreen to anything not full screen. Is there a way to adjust the direction of the animation?
That's how the presets that come with MixEffect were set up. You can edit a preset or create your own and reposition the boxes however you want. Note that when running a preset, the boxes will move starting from their current position on screen to where the preset says they should go. If you have boxes moving off-screen to the left and run another preset, that's where they will start from. Be sure to save your preset after editing. You can long-press on the preset that you want to save your changes and choose Save Preset. Also read the docs on Use Box Sources, which shows you how to lock a source to a particular box in a preset. By default, the boxes take on whatever source happens to be loaded at the time. Use Box Sources allows you bake them into the preset. docs.mixeffect.app/explore/supersource

Hi Adam, thanks for all the effort and good work with the app. I'm a bit frustrated with supersource macros, I have an iPhone 8 Plus with iOS 16.1.2 and I can't create supersource macros, once I start to create the new macro, in the moment I choose a first preset on the supersource tab, the app close the macro automatically, and it's really frustrating, because I can't continue creating the macro, I would like to create a couple of cycling cameras changes with my atem mini extreme iso to work hands off, but till now nothing works as I expected, any suggestions?? (the problem was the same on iOS 16.1.1, just to let you know) Thanks!!
There is a known issue when recording macros with SuperSource transitions IF you have the speed set to anything but Instant or Extra Fast (even then I've seen the macro stop). There appears to be a limit on the number of commands you can send to a macro during record (that isn't present if you enter the macro manually, but who's going to do that to animate their presets). A couple of workarounds: 1. Use the instant transition. You won't get the nice animation, however. 2. Use something like Companion to trigger the SuperSource preset and add any other commands you want to the Companion button (like you do with a macro) 3. Use Shortcuts to do the same thing in (2) 4. Use a tool like H2R Layouts (layouts.heretorecord.com), which can create a macro that does SuperSource animations. Something to keep in mind with the macro approach is that the start and end positions of the SSRC boxes will be fixed in the macro. The macro is stupid and doesn't know where the boxes are starting at. So when you press the macro, it will instantly position the boxes where the first macro command instructs them to. This can lead to a jarring appearance if your boxes are not at the exact spot where the macro thinks they should be. I'll make a note of this limitation in the documentation.
Same with the automations in USK and DSK, I try to put for example a bounce effect and once I'm back to the previous tab, all the changes are lost, a bit frustrated with mix effect in my "old phone", It'll be great if you can send any help.
@@AdamTow Yes, you're right, using the instant transition works ok, but it's no so cool. I prefer just to use MixEffect, instead of using more apps or platforms, but thanks!! :)
@@victorvaleraayuste4846 Due to the limitations of the ATEM trying to real-time record all the actions in a macro, I suggest using Shortcuts or Companions to trigger the animations for now. With the Run in Background feature, you can be in Shortcuts while MixEffect is still running in the background.

Limitation of the ATEM Mini Extreme, ATEM SDI Extreme, and the new ATEM Constellation HD models. Only the 4K Production/Broadcast Studio and the Constellation 8K support borders. People have faked the borders using SuperSource Art (either Foreground or Background) or they added borders to boxes 1 and 2 using boxes 3 and 4 set to a Color input. You could then use the 2 DVEs to have two more boxes with borders. Animating them all together would be a pain, but it's possible to do so in Companion or via Shortcuts using MixEffect's animation controls.
SuperSource border is only supported on the ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K, 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K, and the Constellation 8K. You can simulate a border using a foreground SuperSource Art or by using the USK DVE. I have PSD templates for the default SuperSource boxes here that you can use with foreground art: github.com/adamtow/mixeffect-ssrc-graphics
