Small correction: Bizkit only has 3 output/track effects since he is using the mk1. This makes his performance even greater!
Moreso, unlike the mk2 he cannot use every effect in each slot. For example you can't use Gran Delay on A etc and many more

@@gipsy45 the loopstation has 3 slots each for input effects and tracks effects labelled A,B and C. In mk2 you can basically use all fx with each slot you have (you can put any effect available in the input effects menu in the slots) but in mk1 some effects are restricted from specific slots (Gran Delay or any delays can't go on A).
I am a fan of Bizkit but I don't like giving him credit for his tracks under the reason of the drawbacks of his underpowered loop station CHOICE.
And I honestly cannot understand why he is keep resisting switching to MKII
At this point, everyone has access to the mk2, so if he's choosing not to adapt and use it, that isn't a bonus point.

I'm a complete noob and know nothing about this but I really like the buildup phase too, and it makes an interesting constraint on time, i.e. who can build up the coolest sounds most efficiently. But maybe it's just routine if you're world class like Dlow.

Good builds are a loop artform, and I do believe at least in the producer category they get punished for silence during the build and I think thats a good thing. We should hear what they can and cant do, plenty of loopers can do a clean build so if the build isn't interesting that to me is a skill issue not an event issue.
Would you say the same about Christheodian's elimination last year.
bizkit's second round was absolutely wild but man do i adore mirsa's first round. its just so nice
the buildup was crazy but the drop was disappointing imo
love this reaction and insight!! I in the other hand love hearing and seeing the build up live and seeing where the journey takes us instead of having it prepared before hand but that's just me

As all the comments are saying, Bizzy is using Mk1 so there's only 3 output and input fx, and the sound design choice u could say it's very based upon the MK1 itself because it is the more "loud" machine because MK2 is more regulated and "tamed" in a sense, of course this is all my opinion :D Bizzy was clear win for me too :D

Many start directly with pre-designed sounds, making it feel more like a DJ competition. Of course, I also really like the sounds of MK2, but in terms of live performances, the gradual building process of MK1 gives a better impression. But personally I love watching the track being put together, and the pressure of being on stage impacts the sounds and therefor the way effects are layered on top of it.
The skill it takes to have a short build-up and then have a banger track is what makes this so interesting.

I feel like MIRSA should have put more effort into his lyrics in the 2nd round. Saying "you're not gonna win" and "you talk too much" is just so tame and weak - especially against someone like Bizkit, who is known to be very strong in this regards.
But the drops in 2nd round of Mirsa was fire and whole round was much cleaner than the bizkit’s one, but bizkit had strong lyrics🔥
But the sound design of bizkit’s 2nd round is hard to listen, cause the high frequences

I think the idea behind allowing some set up before the round starts can be good if done correctly. Perhaps allow a limited amount of time for the set up of the round before the timer starts ticking ? That way they have a full three minute performance as opposed to the set up be part of the three minutes itself.

@@gabimarius772 woaaah buddy you have no idea what you are talking about, Robin's rounds are masterpieces, him not having many drops doesn't mean he ain't a competitor, sure I am sad bizkit lost even he said he really thought he could've won the whole thing in a livestream but that it all came down to (since Robin and bizkit's styles are so opposite) it all came down to who made more mistakes, robin made no mistakes and bizkit messed up almost his whole first round, judging objectively Robin takes it cause even tho it's less complex than what Bizkit does on the mk1 Robin still didn't mess up and bizkit did🤷🏾♂️

for me there is actually a LOT of skill in how to build your track while actually playing something in the background, and also a lot of skill in adding sounds to the mix while crafting is such an art process that gets killed if you can prepare your sounds, you kill the hype of whats going to happend. that type of stuff is why Producer Category exists i think. Great Video as always !
