@@KevinRossRN yeah my space is still unfinished but ive taken the challenge of using the space as much as I can before I start finalizing plans for how I will use the space. I’m loving the ikea kitchen cabinets. I may borrow that idea for at least a work bench.
I worked in an unfinished basement for awhile. I still remember those days. But I know part of that inspiration is fueled by the space you walk into every day. @@KevinRossRN I was thinking of using an ergotron wall mounted arm, then having two 25 inch monitors either side of a 32 inch as a central monitor for video editing and color grading. I just think the weight would be too much for a desk.
That is quite a bit of weight for a desk, unless it’s solid wood. I will say that I did consider mounting displays on the wall. I do like that look. I also think that if you’ll already have a pretty permanent setup for your desk, then why not? 🤷♂️
@@KevinRossRN Yeah, you have a point. I guess it circles back to the purpose. In my case, just trying to clear my desk of clutter and have a simple space. I think I'll try to mount the monitors using wall mounts. Love your video by the way.
Well, I use both. I like the curved on this larger setup as I feel like I’m not having to stretch to see everything. I have a flat 27 inch monitor on my other desk where I sit, and I also like this because that desk is smaller, and I’m sitting closer. What are you mostly working on? Your typical workflow.
@@KevinRossRN Logic and browsing mainly. I have a 27inch imac and was looking at either the 34 or 38 inch UW. Have you had any experience with the 38inch? It looks like there's a little bit of height lost on the 34 vs the 38 inch.. I wonder if you will get more out of the 38 in terms of productivity etc?
The 38 will definitely provide a bit more real estate that will give you more options with split screen or being able to float a few windows that you may be working in. Personally, the 34 has been fine, however I have enough distance and workspace where I’m considering some in the 40ish range. If you have the space and it’s in your budget, then I’d grab that extra few inches if you can. As far as personal experience with the 38, not in my current setup, but definitely in another studio I’ve worked in.
I truly appreciate Your Videos Kevin. So I have 2 27” Samsung and looking to go DOWN into a larger ONE monitor and possibly leverage the Cal Digit TS4. What Monitor would you recommend now? - I have an M1 Pro MacBook Pro & a Windows Laptop - I can focus on ONE machine at a time - but I do flip often. THANKS. I do LIGHT photo/video editing (nothing like your stuff) AND Heavily use for Research (Browsers) and Spreadsheet work. THANKS - I appreciate it! PS - I am not a gamer…. :)
@@KevinRossRN I should have included that in the comment :) -- I have a 27" Samsung S70A 4K UHD High Resolution Monitor and LOVE it - I just wish it was a little brighter --- but... Samsung actually makes a 32" version I just can't tell - if going to from 2 27" (the other is an older Dell) to a 32" would be enough. I think the 3440X1440 would be enough - but I am looking at somewhere around $600 - I really think I will long term need the docking to support some future HDD and I really want the one plug solution. THANK YOU for your opinion and time...
Well, are you more concerned about going with me monitor because of using the dock? You can push both of those monitors. For the equivalent experience you’d be looking at a 49 inch ultrawide, but I assume you wouldn’t want it that big. Not to mention it wouldn’t be within budget either. A 32 inch monitor would likely feel small, so you’d be landing (minimum) 38 inches, but trying to push as close to 40 as you can. However, going back to the original monitors, if you can push them through the dock, would you keep them?
@@KevinRossRN I would get rid of both of the 27" to a more streamlined look in the office - I was also looking (because I have a TV above the monitors - to go with something like - UN43AU8000FXZA 43" AU8000 but worried that the text quality would not be there. THANK YOU
Thanks! Well it’s just one of my desks in the space so I do switch it up. And I’m able to open the cabinet doors if I feel like I need some space, but I mostly stand or just lean against the stool.
It’s kind of silly how awesome this thing is. I turn this thing on just to help light the space even when I’m not at this particular desk. Hope you continue to enjoy it.
@@KevinRossRN Pricey as.... but it delivers. Really happy with it. I use it day and night. I have to use a keyboard skin on my MX Keys and even though its clear, it still shades the keyboard a bit. The Halo makes all the keys really easy to see. And plus, it's just really cool!
Will do, apologies on the delay. Emails come in quite frequently and I have someone that goes through those for me as there are quite a few that we have to review and answer. But I’ll take a look. Appreciate you reaching out.

I thought the pitaka case is only compatible with the pitaka stand. Never thought it could work with this magfloat stand. Great video, Love your setup.
Ha! Well first, congrats on heading out to college. Second, I know what you mean. I have other office space I’m not in very much, but I really love having those spaces “clean.” Of course the space does get a little congested on the workspace I do like having options to put pieces of equipment away.
Awesome video, love the setup and great lighting in your office and making the video!!!! Quick question about t he speaker stands, do you hear any rattle or do you think the High Density Acoustic Foam Studio Monitor Isolation Pads will sound the same? +1 SUBSCRIBER Thank you
I really like the stands because they bring those monitors up to where I need them. I use them all the time and haven’t appreciated any rattle. Hey Kevin - looks great! I appreciate the Nexus 6 with the wood-grain skin. I rocked my N6 for a good while with an ebony-wood skin and it was truly one of Google's best phones for enthusiasts. I have eyed that BENQ ScreenBar for a little bit - it looks nice, sir. Keep up the vibe you have going here - "Organic Industrial Minimalism" or whatever you wanna call it. :)
Ah the organic industrial minimalism….Nice description. Appreciate it. Actually, that phone was (is) the Moto X with a bamboo back. It was one of my favorites. Hard to believe that was about 9 years ago that I got that phone.
I would say that minimal desk set ups are an aesthetic but as simple as they look, they’re extremely expensive. For example, everyone uses grovemade (which is super expensive) but I find it a bit strange to buy a $120 mousepad when you can literally buy one with similar quality, look, and feel at Amazon for like $20 or less.
Yeah, I get where you’re coming from. I have some less expensive options from Amazon that have worked well, while I also have others such as a desk mat that the leather started to flake and peel. But again, there are some decent finds on there. Putting together a desk piece by piece can certainly take some time.
Agreed. I actually have a medium Grovemade wool desk mat. I regret spending the $90 on it. After a year of use the leather "Grovemade" piece came apart. The Wool coasters I got from them seem to be holding up fine though. Still think they are grossly overpriced for what you get.
Really? That’s unfortunate to hear and I’m glad you shared that bit of info. But, sorry to hear about your experience. So it’s just flaking pieces of leather?
@@KevinRossRN Not a problem. The whole leather piece that had the Grovemade logo came off (bad stitching along the side that held that leather piece to the wool). I don't know if I had a defective unit or maybe they need a better way to stitch the leather logo piece to the wool (or leave it off entirely, but that was kinda the reason why I bought it). The Wool part still looks and feels ok (I lightly hand scrub areas that I may accidentally spill stuff on).
Ah, gotcha. Well, that’s still a bummer. For some reason I was thinking it was the whole leather mat, but I suppose at least you can still use the wool, although I agree it’s nice to have that leather piece on there. Kind of one of the few times that having branding on it is nice.
Thanks! And yes, I experimented with some RGB setups, which the lights behind the desk and the keyboard of course can accommodate, but I’m just more into some of the cooler tones with the occasional dial on a warmer look if I need it. Appreciate you stopping over on this one. 🤘
I don’t know how much this would help, but I have two dogs that produce enough hair in a day to make a cat. I got a Dyson vacuum that I use pretty frequently and it definitely has helped. Wish I had made the purchase sooner. But I hear you. Keeping up with the hair is a full time job.
@@KevinRossRN Today, I went out and bought an air purifier to help capture dust, cat dander, and other particles in the room that serves as home office + spare bedroom. I sweep the floor with a "dust and dirt capture mop" daily too. I'll keep the Dyson vacuum in mind.
@@KevinRossRN after almost a week (6 days) I can confirm that using an air purifier works by reducing dust accumulation by over 99%. Beginning the second day of use there was barely any dust or other particles on the computer desk and computer. For the record, the air purifier runs approximately 16 hours a day, probably could be reduced but the electricity usage is minimal.
So glad you popped back over for an update, and great to hear that it works so well. I’ve used air purifiers in the past, but I think I need to circle back around and consider one again. Thanks so much for the update.
It's nice, but I've seen the same exact setup across hundreds of content creator videos. There's no originality. As soon as I see anything Grovemade in the thumbnail, I roll my eyes and keep scrolling. Especially if it's a "Dream Desk" caption where they've literally copied everyone's Graovemade/Ikea setup.

@@KevinRossRN Yeah, you have a point. I guess it circles back to the purpose. In my case, just trying to clear my desk of clutter and have a simple space. I think I'll try to mount the monitors using wall mounts. Love your video by the way.
Hey, I get it. It’s nice to have as much off the desk as possible. I’m all for that. Appreciate you jumping over here on this one. 🤘
Hey Kevin, would you recommend going a curved monitor? How have you found it going from a flat screen?
My setup looks relatively nice when I clean my desk off. My mini leg lamp is definitely out of place though.
You have a mini leg lamp? That’s awesome.
@@KevinRossRN it was a minor award.
Must be Italian.
Do you have a particular budget in mind, and are you looking for 4K or is 3440 x 1440 workable?
THANK YOU
I always try and get it organized but then when creating starts there that goes.
You know it. It’s a full time job just keeping the clutter off of it.
Word.
Great video! Love the clean desk.
But there's no space for your leg, don't you feel uncomfortable?
Thanks! Well it’s just one of my desks in the space so I do switch it up. And I’m able to open the cabinet doors if I feel like I need some space, but I mostly stand or just lean against the stool.
Just purchased the Halo. Delivered yesterday. Love it already!
Agree. And I can notice a difference in eye fatigue.
wow this setup is clean!!! but why didn't you talk about the speakers tho? they really stand out which speakers are those?
Thanks! I did discuss them in this video: M1 Max Desk Setup | Get Work Done

Will do, apologies on the delay. Emails come in quite frequently and I have someone that goes through those for me as there are quite a few that we have to review and answer. But I’ll take a look.
Appreciate you reaching out.
I wish my desk looked like that. Mine looks like a dumpster fire!
Ha! Oh, this has been a work in progress. I remember the dumpster fires I tried to work with. 🤣
keychron q1 is a fantastic keyboard, some light modding turns it into a great sounding board :)
That’s one that is at the top of the list to mod. I plan on picking it up. Appreciate you weighing in on that.
Awesome setup man! Love how clean and functional it is!
Really appreciate you saying so. And thankful to have shared a little time with you here. 🤘
looks great, but no leg space? that´s a big no for me, but I see you work almost standing so maybe thats practical to you... very nice looking setup thats for sure!
Thanks! And yes, for standing I don’t really need the space, however if I were sitting on a stool the cabinet doors open up to an area that allows for a little room.
Although I also have a desk in the space when I’m sitting. Gives me options 😉
Appreciate your time here.
I thought the pitaka case is only compatible with the pitaka stand. Never thought it could work with this magfloat stand. Great video, Love your setup.
They’re both great stands and I do use them both (on separate desks), but it does work well on this one.
Great to see you over here.
Every iPad user goes says that at some point maybe the next OS will be different 🥲 Great video as always!
Thanks! And yes, there’s always the next iPadOS. You never know. 🤷♂️😉

Great Video and use of IKEA cabinets systems 👍👌
Many thanks! And yes, the cabinets are convenient.
Honestly these setup tours are really getting ne to want to clean up my setup, despite the fact i'm going to college in like 14 days 😅
Ha! Well first, congrats on heading out to college. Second, I know what you mean. I have other office space I’m not in very much, but I really love having those spaces “clean.”
Of course the space does get a little congested on the workspace I do like having options to put pieces of equipment away.
Very much love this
Many thanks 🙏 Always working on it.
Def check out Nuphy Air 75 and 60 Keyboards! I just got the 60 and I love the form factor! Love your setup btw!

Great setup :)
Thanks! It’s been fun building it out.
How are you playing genshin on macOS? Not an M series chip I'm assuming?
Indeed it’s the M series. I’m playing through PlayCover.
Very clean. I like the more minimal desk setups. Helps me focus on my work. 😊
Thanks! And yes, I agree. Helps me focus as well. Really glad to have you hanging out here.

Awesome video, love the setup and great lighting in your office and making the video!!!!
Quick question about t he speaker stands, do you hear any rattle or do you think the High Density Acoustic Foam Studio Monitor Isolation Pads will sound the same?
+1 SUBSCRIBER
Thank you
I really like the stands because they bring those monitors up to where I need them. I use them all the time and haven’t appreciated any rattle. That’s definitely a good question though, but they are pretty solid and the monitor enclosure (bottom) doesn’t move around on the stands.
Look forward to seeing you around the channel.

@@KevinRossRN Oh haha looks a lot like the Motorola Nexus 6 :)
Uncanny similarities. The year right before Google purchased Motorola so they could manufacture in Texas.
I really wanted that deal to succeed.
Hai may I know pc brand name
Are you referring to the Mac Mini?
@@KevinRossRN no I think asking monitor

90's Keanu tho
The best.
That is the kind of setup I can get behind. Nothing wrong with the RBG loving crowd but that's just not my thing.
Thanks! And yes, I experimented with some RGB setups, which the lights behind the desk and the keyboard of course can accommodate, but I’m just more into some of the cooler tones with the occasional dial on a warmer look if I need it.
Appreciate you stopping over on this one. 🤘
RUclips really needs to handle the bot issue.
Yep, grabbing those as soon as I can. They flood the feed from the get. 🤷♂️
Always something different it seems.
Your desk appears to be so clean, no cat hair or dust. It seems I clean my desk at least three times a day; maybe the room needs a humidifier.
Hey that air purifier may help. I’m interested to hear how you like it once you have a chance to see if it’s working.
Thanks so much for the update.
nice set up…i like hhhh
Appreciate that, and thanks for your time here.
Totally get it. It’s all about finding the look and function that works for you. Either way, appreciate your time.
