Awesome hearing his dad play and speak of his son, and their love for music. The reporter was a bit annoying with his jokes. A lot of musicians have day jobs because they are just not good enough to be professional musicians, but Prince's dad was seriously on par with Duke Ellington. I can hear Prince's influences on guitar but have always wanted to know who was his biggest influence on piano. It seems like it was his father. I remember Prince saying that he was striving when he was young to play as well as his father. His mom was a singer. I wonder what tones in his voice came from her. I would have liked to have seen them all around the piano talking about music and hear what they all sounded like.

I remember seeing this when it came out in 1990. It was really hyped up to be this big secrets of Prince revealed. Such a disappointment. His sister doesnt seem to know that much about his personal life. Prince always gave song credits to his father but Purple Rain was never one of those credits. His version sounds nothing like it either.

Don Won I've seen and read so many interviews over the last year, recalling which one may take me a bit. But, I recall the interviewer asking him if his songs were all autobiographical and Prince said of his early works, some of them where fantasy at the time of writing, some were of conversations he had overheard, some were true. But, the statement he made being at the end of the interview, Princr was asked "What about 'Sister'?" and Prince said "That one's true". I couldn't say if he was provacatively joking or telling a truth. Time ran out on the interview and it was over. But, if I see it again, I'll look you up.
Last night I went to go look up the words to Sister and spent the rest of the night crying. I know its true how? Because after all of these months of looking back on that mans life I came to the stark conclusion that Prince was more abused then he ever let on. I knew that something really awful had to have happened then I remembered that song but maybe because it disturbed me on some level or I had forgotten some of the words but I kind of avoided the content of what was really in that song I didn't really go looking for it. I had bought that album way back when but don't presently have it. But after coming here I had to go look up those words and I knew it was true. That was a young man who was hurting because of what was done to him and I realized something else too...... Prince wasn't simply molested he was rapped. He was 16 his sister was double his age and did to him what never should have been done to him. I had the great honor to see him perform in San Antonio Texas back in 1980 with Appalonia 6, and The Time then again in 1999 At the Majestic theater in San Antonio and that night was topped off Big!!! with a bad ass After Party, and guess who was the MC? You got it! Doug e fresh!!! with a audience of about 100, he Jammed for about 3hrs straight on a stage sweating up a mini storm and drinking alot of water playing keyboards, 🎸 and drums (the stage was about 15' x10' x 18" high) the songs that he performed were later released in CD 3121. It was the best show I have ever experienced!! it was a very small club that is today a strip club "Sugars'' here in San Antonio. R.I.P my friend

I've seen and read so many interviews over the last year, recalling which one may take me a bit. But, I recall the interviewer asking him if his songs were all autobiographical and Prince said of his early works, some of them where fantasy at the time of writing, some were of conversations he had overheard, some were true. But, the statement he made being at the end of the interview, Princr was asked "What about 'Sister'?" and Prince said "That one's true".
I couldn't say if he was provacatively joking or telling a truth. Time ran out on the interview and it was over.

Last night I went to go look up the words to Sister and spent the rest of the night crying. I know its true how? Because after all of these months of looking back on that mans life I came to the stark conclusion that Prince was more abused then he ever let on. I knew that something really awful had to have happened then I remembered that song but maybe because it disturbed me on some level or I had forgotten some of the words but I kind of avoided the content of what was really in that song I didn't really go looking for it. I had bought that album way back when but don't presently have it. But after coming here I had to go look up those words and I knew it was true. That was a young man who was hurting because of what was done to him and I realized something else too...... Prince wasn't simply molested he was rapped. He was 16 his sister was double his age and did to him what never should have been done to him. People think if its a boy and hes 16 its not as bad hell yes its bad an this wasn't some stranger this was his own sister. I believe by the age I know which sister the one that died...... if true I hope shes rotting in hell for what she did to him. And yes I want to see that interview if you ever run across it I'd appreciate it thank you.

I had the great honor to see him perform in San Antonio Texas back in 1980 with Appalonia 6, and The Time then again in 1999 At the Majestic theater in San Antonio and that night was topped off Big!!! with a bad ass After Party, and guess who was the MC? You got it! Doug e fresh!!! with a audience of about 100, he Jammed for about 3hrs straight on a stage sweating up a mini storm and drinking alot of water playing keyboards, 🎸 and drums (the stage was about 15' x10' x 18" high) the songs that he performed were later released in CD 3121. It was the best show I have ever experienced!! it was a very small club that is today a strip club "Sugars'' here in San Antonio. R.I.P my friend

For his sister to call him the "Prince of darkness" was like a slap in his face because the Prince of darkness is a reference to satan and Prince had a strong belief in God and Jesus Christ.
