I appreciate a group where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. It's not a question of " look at me, look how good I can play the guitar " to " check out what we can do!"
I don’t think there are many serious guitarists or listeners who underrate Adam. There will be plenty of people who don’t care for the music but, Adam is respected by those who matter!!
I'm so glad i got to see these guys the first few years they toured. Back then they performed with passion and emotion. Last time i saw TooL Maynard stood behind the drums the whole show with no crowd interaction. It was disappointing.

He really does this because he can't hear good in the front ever since he went to the back they have become lack luster but i think its because over the years they have become more technical and care more about the sound the fans are getting rather than a dance show. Go see Beyonce if you qant a dance show
Yeah, if you compare this to their live shows from the late 80s/early 90s, it's clear why they now need a light show and videos. Alas, performance and rock music are things mainly of youth.
I know nothing about playing anything but a stereo. All I know is I took a music appreciation class in college and I really appreciate TOOL as much as the classical geniuses LMFAO
In skill I agree but, when it comes to rock and roll presentation, it’s very hard to top Glenn Tipton!! Absolute metal! Phenomenal stage presence. Flawless performance. Great interview skills. Just not the musical skills of Adam.
The playing of an instrument in most rock pieces is relatively easy to replicate, it is the creation of a piece like this, from nothing, that distinguishes a player from the others.
It’s a festival. Different rules. At a proper Tool show you’re not allowed to film until the last song. I had floor seats last year and the rule was strictly enforced. Tons of people were kicked out. A word of advice if you haven’t seen Tool already, play it safe, keep the phone out of sight. Enjoy the show. It’s not worth getting kicked out.
@@chertsBass your think I haven’t heard his other guitar in a phone? I’m a lifelong guitarist, and it’s easy to hear the tone difference regardless of mic quality. Back under your bridge
@@ggw7948 that's exactly the issue with this guitar in comparison, it lacks the sustain that his playing style is essential rooted in. Cool guitar but doesn't look like he's jiving with it.
Doesn’t have to shred, doesn’t have to rip a solo, doesn’t have to be super technical. He did what is best for the song and it ALWAY sounds perfect

Agreed. Flying V tone sounds very flat compared to the raw carrying power the les paul has.
