Hotwheels Velocity X is still the coolest one, amazing game for PS2/Gamecube, not sure if anyone else thinks the same, but imo, it had some of the craziest gameplay at the time
You have some rose colored glasses lol, the best part of velocity x was the opening cinematic, I loved it as a kid but it's pretty lame going back to it, interesting, different, but not very fun imo, at least compared to something like stunt track challenge or hotwheels beat that which was kind of janky but was one of the first hotwheels games where you felt like you were driving the toys around your bedroom, something the new games have heavily taken inspiration from
@@samanthasoares4806 Actually, the driving toys feeling was already done by Stunt Track Driver, 10 years earlier then Beat That. But I agreed with everthing else, especially Velocity X stuff, it was just a shitty car combat game with a really good car roster.
That game is a massive step-up over the first game. You can even switch the boost type for some of the vehicles once you upgrade them to Ultimate-Tier. Even loved the fact that it even included the cars from Hot Wheels Velocity X (MS-T Suzuka, Maelstrom, Splittin Image 2, HW Prototype 12, Seared Tuner, Jet Threat 3.0, Sol-Aire CX-4, Way 2 Fast) along with the recently released Hot Wheels Best For Track cars (Count Muscula, Group C Fantasy, El Segundo Coupe, Roadster Bite). Even enjoyed the big event variety (Drift, Waypoint and Eliminator along with the online-exclusive Grab The Gears and Demo Derby). Story seems to be geared towards the little ones. It needs to have Jason Momoa as one of the many villains in Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged as payback for what he's done towards the Family throughout Fast X. That'll piss off everyone at Universal into getting high on cocaine and sending a massive army of criminals and terrorists out to kill every Racer in the universe with weaponized cars straight out of Twisted Metal and Hot Wheels Velocity X. All in all, the game's great. Time for Maximum Justice!
It’s cause 1, there’s basically 0 advertising surrounding this game, I haven’t seen it advertised anywhere. 2, it seems so similar to the original in branding and looks etc, people might’ve though it was some expansion or something
Unleashed 2 needs more exposure. The game is genuinely a massive improvement over the first. Cars handle better, physics are more solid, cars are BALANCED, no blind boxes for car unlocks, a sticker editor, better campaign with difficulty scaling that is nice. Only thing is it needs some bug fixes and multiplayer improvements along with crossplay parties (which were announced to be coming soon)

Its the season passes for me. Just another money grab. Bought the first one and loved but then found out most of the content got delayed so they could charge you.
One of the issues I've had with the first game was that there was too much of a difficulty gap between easy and medium. Sounds like it might be similar here, but I'm not sure.
For me: - Cars have this weird cartoon shine to them now, they looked more realistic before and more plastic now - The changes to the camera are annoying, especially when boosting and drifting, it looks like the image stretches out too much - Car upgrades aren't really upgrades because you have to swap good features for others (1 occasionally gave you less boost when upgrading so 1 isn't perfect for this either but it wasn't as bad) - Upgrade system completely undermines the "rocket", "drifter" etc categories - The map is somehow more confusing and forces a more linearpath. I kept finding myself stuck having to do less fun challenges because there were no quick races, even if there were quick races to my left or right but the path forces me to go straight. - Boss battles are just boring now, hitting the cardboard things aren't as fun as racing others - I'm not a fan of the changes to boost pads etc, being flat just looked cleaner for me - The least fun parts of tracks were when you had to slow down off the track and follow cones, constantly losing speed, easily way more of it here - Boost meter in the middle gets in the way and sometimes covers the car. Every other racing game has it to the side for good reason I think -DLC doesn't appear on the map so just feels like more tracks / cars more than a full DLC I would give all the updates up for the ability to change camera angles, see stats like best times(not just for most recent race but overall), stats for others and the ability to race ghost versions of ourselves. I hope they learn from other racing games Over all it just didnt feel as good driving but this one's hard to describe why Its not a bad game at all, id still say its one of the most fun arcade racers ever made and the ability to sidestep and jump are genuinely great additions, some of the tracks are tonnes of fun and im SO HAPPY the random boxes and mandatory shortcuts are gone. For me I just preferred 1

Is there still genuine background music by Snakes in Venice? Well, instead of that, there should be rock and metal music in the next Hot Wheels Unleashed game. 3. There should still be some cheat codes like in the old days of gaming. 4. Make all the cars from Hot Wheels Unleashed 1 and 2 return. Plus, add some more new cars like the Slide Out (Sprint Car), Go-Kart (A Hot Wheels go-kart from Hot Wheels Turbo Racing), Shadow MK II (I still know that that's an old car that still will never return, but it would be cool tho), Ground FX, etc. 5. *NO BUGS.* 6. *NO CHARACTER CARS. The first game was fine, I think it got weird over a period of time, the DLCs consists of Season Pass and there are other packs outside of the SP. I felt like playing a racing version of Dead or Alive.
The game is really fun and for sure is a huge improvement over the first game. While the game does have some flaws, it's worth it for on sale if you're looking into it. However switch is the worst place to play this game because they are excluded from crossplay along with other console limitations. Best platform for this game is PS5, Xbox, and PC since those all have crossplay together.
Shame this game got overlooked, cause it's fun as hell, and a big step up from the first game (which was already pretty great). Only downsides are that the cutscenes in the campaign are cringe, and the methods of unlocking everything is tedious. I'm still missing the last unlockable car, because it's behind an extremely tedious mission. Outside of that, the racing is still damn good, the new mechanics add a lot of depth, the upgrade system is more interesting than the first game's, the track editor is still great, the livery editor is great, the sticker editor is a nice addition, the new modes are all good, and there's really good vehicle variety (even in the base roster). One more thing though, for anyone curious about this game, DO NOT get the Switch version. Aside from the usual downsides of a multi-plat. Switch game, the Switch version is the only one that doesn't include cross-play.
