I love how it says be safe "for a moment", because these types of music make me think that I'm not finishing the game yet, just taking a pause from the hellish creatures that are behind the door where I came in.
Something about PS1 graphics have a very "handcrafted" charm to them. Like they look like papercraft dioramas that were made with dedication instead of skill.
Reminds me of when we do urban exploring at night and we find a room thats relatively safe to have a cigarette and a break before continuing around the foreboding dark corridors

I hope this video stays up for millennia and people just keep leaving their thoughts here the whole time. I’m not sure why but the idea of my grandchildren’s grandchildren taking solace here the same way that I did just hits different.
Take a rest kiddos, I know it’s scary out there. Don’t be afraid though because some of us who came before have left you things to help you along your journey and if you open your eyes and really look when you’re back out in the world, I promise you will find them.
Watching Harry Mason standing there has something so haunting about it. The best comparison I can give is watching a movie from the last century, where all the actors are no longer with us. To have this ability, to see a person from the past being alive, yet fully knowing that said person will perish on a known date... is just so eerie.
Everyone writes about how this music enchants and calms them, but I will write that it puts me in some kind of trance, where I am alone with my thoughts and problems that I can't share with anyone because I don't want to be seen as weak. In the eyes of others, I appear much stronger than I actually am. I have many fears about the future, about my age, about what tomorrow will bring. I'm afraid of not finding myself in this world and constantly being in search. I'm sure I'm not the only one like this and I just want to wish you, the reader, to find happiness and peace in this cruel world.
It's going to be ok, you're stronger than you think. I promise. Showing vulnerability is no weakness, stay respectful but be you. Try to get rid of fear as much as you can, It's your only real obstacle. Fear makes everything look so much bigger than it really is, while deeming you too little at the same time. Chose your people. Be kind, always. You deserve to be loved for who you are 👐🏻
After the constant stress, being chased, Harry finds a place to rest a little and regain strength. Now, he meditates inside a bus, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the immensity of darkness. He feels comfortable, apparently safe, however he knows that he must continue his search, and the calm of silence will be broken again... Nice theme 🌌
Whenever I don't feel alive, yet I don't wish to die, I sometimes find myself listening to Silent Hill related Ambience to help calm my troubled mind. There are days where there are problems I cannot disclose, out of fear of judgement still. For me, Silent Hill's music felt more like an escapism, like a safe place, in some of my years, though nowadays I see why it feels like such for many others as well. While I may be stronger on the outside, I for one have quite the fears at times, like what's tomorrow going to bring? What about my age? What about my health? What about my future? As I continue to try to find myself in this unforgiving world, I do hope that the person who reads this finds nothing more but sincere happiness and absolute peace in their life, and wish said person well in their adventures on this ball of rock we call a planet.
It is sad and heartwarming to read the comments. It is like we all feel alone in a world full of people at some point. Or maybe always. On the other hand, feeling deeply makes me feel human. Alive. This music is that Schrödinger safe area. You know you are fucked, but safe at the same time. To all of you reading this, I hope you find happyness and peace.
Ich mag dieses Gefühl von Sicherheit in Silent Hill. Und dieses beruhigende und warme Tehma: "Seien Sie für einen Moment in Sicherheit" brauchen wir ab und zu auch beim Zocken! ❤
I love cozy, derelict, spaces like this..luncheonette diners, malls.. This also reminds me of the train in RE3, the 90s and the ps1, man...sometimes, I just want to go back.
I get that. We want to go back to a time in our lives where we weren't aware of making money, getting groceries, making sure we have enough, future planning, or even sometimes the thought of our own inevitable death. Back to a time where playing PS1 or any console for the first time and completely immersing ourselves into that world was all that mattered. Getting lost in games. In stories. Back then we were so full of life. We've become tired today as adults and long for that carefree life we had as children when others to care of us. That's what this music can make us feel or remember.
Ps1 and Ps2 were the most trippy, disconected, alien experiences in human existence. Never had technology created such a a state of depersonalization to the point of mental detachment that affected so many people and left them with a permanent nostalgia to return to that state. We could watch and play our nightmares on a screen. What we perceived as digital worlds of emptiness, was infact everything we had always been looking for. Misery is the joy of nothing. Love the dichotomy of the word "safe" and the actual surroundings / game environment. It's like a false sense of temporary security. Nonetheless, gorgeous ambience which does make you feel some sort of safety and chill.
Since I was a child I was fascinated by the idea of being in a mysterious place surrounded by hidden dangers in the form of strange creatures and suddenly finding a safe place where you know you can stay indefinetly, but at some point you will have to leave it to continue your path through the unknown... This scene and its music perfectly reflects that idea... 😯

Harry stumbles upon a broken down bus, alone and completely covered by darkness. Glass shards are scattered by the windows, and the folding rotted paint is slowly revealing the dark rusted metal underneath. Sounds surround him from every corner, each noise is that of another nightmare he will have to deal with in the not so distant future. Exhausted and sore, he stumbles into the broken vehicle, hoping that nothing will jump out at him from behind one of the seats. The last thing he wanted to deal with is another monster. He scans the bus up and down, searching for any threats. No sign anywhere. Relieved, he lays down on one of the moldy leather seats, and slowly drifts to sleep. There is no telling what awaits him when he wakes. Thanks for the ambience!!
Saved this video a long time ago, and just now getting around to listening to it. This video is amazing! It's oddly calming, and just like other people have pointed out, it's calming to know that you can take comfort for a small bit of time in specific places in Silent Hill, before going back out into the hellish nightmare. Thank You for this experience.
I am glad I came across this channel. Your music captures the atmosphere and ambience that ooze out of every pore in older RE titles and Silent Hill games perfectly. This melancholic coldness, I can feel it in my chest, as if it's almost hollow. This stuff hits differently when you've been struggling with moderate to severe chronic depression for the past 10 years. The depression isn't always present, at least not actively or consciously, but it lingers in the background... at all times. And can hit you hard any day, you probably won't even see it coming. It's music like this that makes me feel eerily understood, and be it in a cold, sad, or melancholic way, it can calm down my hyperactive nervous system... There is a very certain kind of beauty in this melancholic vibe this video represents so accurately. EDIT: This ambient soundtrack also reminds me of the boat scene on the open empty lake in the woods in Cry of Fear if anyone can still recall this one. Also a damn fine game... :D

Amaizing sounds. Thank you, @Midwich Music. It helps me concentrate and feel the core of myself. I used to be afraid of this kind of music, it seemed to me that it could scare me, cause pain, but this atmosphere brings me peace.
i love this one. makes me think that with years a gap between me and most people gets larger and larger, and my shortucts to them are more and more damaging. i feel complete when im indefferent and distrant from all the fuss around starngers. and only find peace within myself and dwelling in universal, etheral, otherworldly
And suddenly, life became easier but with the hard times along went the journey. Now, I live to create my purpose while only ever experiencing short lived moments of enlightenment.

Thank Kojima for your dime a dozen pursuit there spacewave
@@monolithgeometry3221 I see, someone's in very good mood today. Have a good one xD
Midwich Music has 10xed my productivity lately

My goodness this is amazing!! Thank you so much. I feel this great sense of relief whenever I can spend time in Silent Hill like that. Awesome video! ❤
subtle music pretty good, makes me, wave into it.
I just finished my first playthrough of this yesterday. Crazy its 3 years older than me and it took me decades to appreciate this game. Im going to play the third installment later.
I don't remember being on that bus. Need to revisit SH1 I guess. Thanks for the sounds.
Me too 🤔
There's a lantern lying on top of the supplies. The warm light makes you relax.
Amaizing sounds. Thank you, @Midwich Music. It helps me concentrate and feel the core of myself. I used to be afraid of this kind of music, it seemed to me that it could scare me, cause pain, but this atmosphere brings me peace.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy it. ^^
Fantastic ambience.
Thank you, Midwich.
I look forward to more of your music!
Thanks, I highly appreciate that!
you cannot beat the artistic character behind games with a lower poly count! awesome ambience!
Thank you for your feedback my friend!
So good, feels inherently cosy and safe. This is how I would expect death to feel like
Back in Silent Hill once again…
i love this one. makes me think that with years a gap between me and most people gets larger and larger, and my shortucts to them are more and more damaging. i feel complete when im indefferent and distrant from all the fuss around starngers. and only find peace within myself and dwelling in universal, etheral, otherworldly
Amazing like A Safe Place soundtrack from Silent Hill 3
Listening to this at night in the dark really feels like a safe haven.
I really never played the franchise, but I vibe so hard to this
And suddenly, life became easier but with the hard times along went the journey. Now, I live to create my purpose while only ever experiencing short lived moments of enlightenment.
She said:
“In my restless dreams I see that town… Silent Hill”.
But somehow I find such an immense peace in it.
The town is what brings her peace. Thats why its their special place. When shes been sick and having restless dreams she goes to silent hill.
It is one of those moments where you feel safe, but for how long…
Nice layering of samples!
I love how that "Most Replayed" highlight RUclips does is just the entire video from 17:24 onwards.
Thank you. This makes me feel a certain way, Sleepy is one.
Silent hill my love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was not even alive when this game was released but i have still played it and it is one of my favourite games of all time .❤

There is also a great single called "Serenity" from RE4. Its worth looking up.
I know, the whole track is just a one sample loop from East West - Twisted Textures sample library. ^^
6AM chillen to this a vibe
Silent hill will always be home to me.
Looks like the bus was attacked, the setting plus the audio gives it a nice feeling of safeness but only a temporary safeness
