I remember killing the winged horror and then standing by that door, watching the flakes serenely drift down, belaying the terror that waited for me outside in the mist. I did not want to leave this place, as it was a bastion of safety that I wanted to cling to. Great ambience and I love the visuals - so evocative!

One of the things I always loved about the first 2 Silent Hill games is these parts where you are inside a restaurant or an RV and knows that in that little comfy place, you are protected (even if for just a short while) from all the hell is happening outside.

That little RV in Silent Hill 2 is unparalleled man- not only in how cramped and cozy it feels when you first find it, but that you also walk past it AGAIN like five hours later when things have gone so far south and it's still there being a safe little nook to hide in for a bit
I used to feel like that hiding in the school toilets, but even then it was short lived hehe, it was the momentary silence that comforted me
That is why Steven Kings The Mist is intriguing as well. To survive, we must get out of our comfort zone.

I was very young, maybe 6-7 years old when I first time saw this. I was playing it in a friends house in totally dark room with loud speakers. It was really enchanting experience. Playing Sega Mega Drive 2 and then seeing this was really a miracle for me back then.

I totally agree. It was very different. We were much better off without all the leftist politics, lgbt perversion, obsession with racism, antiAmerican chaos, excess dependence on electronic devices. It was much simpler, yet more advanced than the 80s and earlier 90s, which have an even extra special feel to them as well. I don’t think it was merely just a matter of less responsibility as some will say. The world was bad back then too, however it was waaaaaaaaaay better than now. I’m from 1983 so I remember the late 80s pretty good and was a junior in high school in 1999. Have a good day and enjoy the cool video. Peace!

actually i think ; youtube is full, of, underrated stuff. The young people here, modders, arists, common people with passions ; they don't really realize that they have such a great capability to waste themselves in a world which doesn't recognize their real talent. This music is great, and was made so simply in a simple way. To reshape content from original creators, enhances that contet x2.

*I love all of the music in the S.H. series. But I have found the soothing music like this, is usually soft, long notes that are infrequently pitch-bended accompanied by loads of echo. It is peaceful but off-putting. I love it. So much emotion in this series.*
Bought this game on release weekend. Last autumn put it in the PS2, disc still worked. For an evening I escaped back into the world. A lot has changed since then, in the world and in/for/to myself, but Silent Hill is indeed still there.

I used to play this in the dark with the PS1 audio going through an analog surround sound system. Scared the hell outta me, that game.
This Silent Hill track reminds me of my Slavic childhood…at granny’s apartment seeing the dusk sky and yellow-orange golden lights while the TV is on,it reminded me how boring..but..also Comfortably Safe I felt..
It really sounds a bit dreary, but still pretty cozy.

I read Franz Kafka "The Castle" to this song. Very atmospheric read. Especially right now, in the middle of December. When it's snowing and raining.
I remember the fear and the extra effort to search the room I was in. There was a feeling of only temporary safety while being watched, and that I might not get another change to gather supplies that could be desperately needed if there was a threat outside. I also remember the shock of the broken window and the monster tumbling inside. It was just one of many strange moments in this game that made me afraid to continue.

This game changed my life. I was 15 y/o and for me, video games meant mario and kirby. When I first played RE I felt something new and fell in love with it. I have beaten the game more times than I can count. Everytime it takes me back to my early teenage years. It’s like reading a book your mom used to read to you, like smelling the perfume of a loved one you no longer see. Listening to this beautiful music really puts me in a more easy and relaxed mood.
