Watching this in the early morning while I sew patches on a semi tudor ragamuffin petticoat. I'm scrapbusting on the morning after my 63rd birthday.... so many scraps so little thread.

I am a scrap hoarder as well! I actually gather up all of the scraps From Any Given project and put them in a bag and label them and store them so that when I need scraps to repair that particular garment, I have the matching fabric at hand.

Will the next project be a 'cloth of gold' new. Burgundian gown with 'ermine'?

@susanpolastaples9688 the next project will probably be a reproduction 15th century pomegranate silk damask on the red and gold, in the style of Margaret of York. I would love to get my hands on some more cloth of gold, though! 😊

Just thinking about random costume stuff. How do you clean your costumes? Wool light cold water hand wash and rinse was something we used for our more sensitive garments.

Great question for my wool and linen garments, I gently hand wash in a tub with cold water some vinegar to make sure the water is the right pH. Stains are treated with dish soap and a vinegar solution. All of the wool pretty much never stains, just linen. For silk I do stain treatment for the most part sometimes I'll do a cold water soak depending on the specific garment,v again with a vinegar solution. I often also hang them up in the shower and just use the shower head to rinse out the dirt. Linen undergarments I just outright laundry in a washing machine on delicate and cold. Some things I will send to the dry cleaners. I guess it depends on the garment! 😅
