"We had the freon evacuated, we went to a shop...". Riiiiiiight lol. Great video. Always enjoyable watching somebody else work on cars from the comfort of my own home!
also should mention the P/S should be bled, coolant system bled, and a/c vacuumed and refilled to spec... this video would have been 2-3 hrs I get it... lol great job Clowny.... much respect
I am building a 383 for my '87 Chevy P/U. I will probably get this kit to convert it from the V belts. Good job on your install. I am a retired auto mechanic. Please don't use adjustable wrenches if you can help it. They will damage your beautiful parts. Thanks and take care.
Klowny! Thanks for doing this vid, I was not clear about the power steering pulley and the high pressure hose side and you helped alot! BTW when I first saw the Frontrunner on the cover of a SBC book I said stop the press! What is it and how do I get it? As you said it is a work of art for the SBC. Cheers!
@klowny1969 So you had to buy all New Parts.. eg Alternator, power steering pump etc? So it wasn't possible to simply replace the V-belt pulley's with the serpentine pulley's?
At minute 5:00, I was like: "Ok, that's it. The car is done. No way I could mount all that back as it was again. I'll just take the bicycle from now on."
@@klowny1969 I figured, it had everything man, that's nice. Super clean though. I ended up tracking down a set of 88-92 Firebird Serpentine Brackets and Pulleys. Came with hardware too. Painted them up Gold and they look beautiful. Granted, not quite that perfect lol.
GM Performance offers 2 kits with or without AC or U can source OEM components from a 4.3 5.7 7.4 from a yard less $ and not a generic kit that requires grinding bolt heads to complete installation. Y R U using RTV and gaskets ?
Took two days because of filming..but yes, this can definitely be done in one day..vintage air is also a real pleasure to deal with! Thanks for watching
