Cool (mini) project!! I love fixing day to day problems with 3D printing! But actually, i think putting all those holes would increase print time and filament usage; for aestetics is good, but not for cost, as far as i know.
Yeah, this is a common misconception in 3D printing, you look at all those holes and think "wow! I'm saving a lot of filament here!" and then on the slicer it takes 3-4 times long to print due to retractions, and all those little holes increase the filament usage because wall loops that need to happen around them, so sometimes you also increase the filament usage, when trying to reduce it. But hey, you fixed the problem you had, and that's the dopamine rush we always strive for
Yeah design fast, print in draft mode, check for errors and print the real part. That’s my take. Only when I print big parts I check dimensions 3-4 times and sleep a night and re check everything before attempting to print the part the next day.
Mate I've got the same machine it come with taller pod cartridge The original is about the same height as your design but it's angled where youve made the cut... Liked the idea tho 👌
I think hexagonal holes with filleted edges would have saved even more material. And would have looked way cooler
Actually, those holes increase print time because they add a million retractions. There are better ways to remove material ;)

Exactly, you don't save filament or print time when adding holes. Been there, done that!
The walls are so thin it is going to be solid typically. So the holes will absolutely save filament.
Would be also interesting to print everything using transparent PETG
