Angel Olsen - More Than This

She really has kept me sane since Mitski disappeared. Queens of depression
hahahahaha YES
@OneSilentGiant genuinely ilysm ty
Mitski disappeared ?
Driving to work in the morning, when i hear Angels voice, i know i will make it through the day.
One of the best covers of a Roxy Music tune I have ever heard. Bryan Ferry’s voice is unique, as is yours. Fantastic tune.
Check out the Billie Marten version it’s out if this world !!
why cant i listen to this woman's voice without getting tears in my eyes ! WHY !?
Why? Because it's hideous how she currently uses it, and utterly tragic that she's ruining her vocal cords to waste it on such tired, insipid and straight-up gross "music" as this.
She knows me somehow, and sends me these things exactly when I need something real.
I found this through Morning Edition on PBS. outstanding I'm so happy I found it and that PBS shared it. wonderful song great cover
Yay for PBS I love the tiny desk concerts this is a beautiful rendition
A great cover of a great song. This song has been covered by 10,000 Maniacs, Robin Hitchcock, Eddie Vedder and now Ms. Olsen. Every interpretation has been magnificent - the mark of a great, timeless song.
My favorite singer covers one of my favorite songs. I immediately hit the like button. The chills are still with me...
YES! I hit like before I heard her version!
I got chills also so beautiful in all ways
Roxy and Olsen ... ay ay, my heart ♡
I could feel at the time
There was no way of knowing
Fallen leaves in the night
Who can say where they're blowing?
As free as the wind
Hopefully learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this
You know there's nothing
More than this
Tell me one thing
More than this
Ooh there's nothing
It was fun for a while
There was no way of knowing
Like a dream in the night
Who can say where we're going?
No care in the world
Maybe I'm learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this
You know there's nothing
More than this
Tell me one thing
More than this
No there's nothing
More than this
Nothing
More than this
More than this
Nothing
omg one of my favorite artists at the moment covering one of my favorite Roxy Music songs. Heaven.
That old Silvertone is such a cool guitar.
And that voice beautiful as always singing a great old Roxy song. I remember a time when there was Roxy Music and T. Rex and I didn't need anything else.
Angel Olsen is perfect for late night walks. Imagining yourself tuning into some radio station in the middle of nowhere some place in montana.
Absolutely love her voice.
I love Roxy music and angel Olsen
same. Perfect combo
Her voice is perfect for this song 😍
I'm a Brian Ferry fan from way back ('70s). This is the most beautiful cover. I've found a new artist.
Check the Billie Marten version way better in my opinion
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've been waiting for a studio version since Angel uploaded a home version on Instagram. It's even more beautiful than I expected.
this is a 1000x more emotional than the original..I love it

angel
HOLY SHIT
You’re amazing.
Любовь!
...had to go through four different covers of this song to find the right one, lol 😊 but the "adjustment bureau" removed the male duet that was there before. Still pretty close, though.
Nice. Also check out the older cover by Division Day.
Bill Murray in Tokyo.
I like this, love the original and the cover by Division Day. I'd probably like it even if Metallica covered it, it's just a great song.
Lost in Translation vibes
I LOVE YOU

This is not a new song by Angel Olsen, it's a cover!
All people doing like you have no shame, it must be a thing obligatory to say!
Me: "can I still get a dose of narcan over the counter?"
Pharmacist: "Here it is. Any questions?"
Me: Can I give it to a song?
Pharmacist: _(blinks)_
Me: There's a song out there in real bad shape, man. Lungs rattling, singing too fast and too slow, can't even tell you what key it's in. Shaking, crying, pissing itself. If someone doesn't narcan that song soon then it's not gonna make it.
That was weird
But seriously, this is bad. It's so bad, so perfectly cliche and yet a major breakthru in this whole intentionally-tasteless, meticulously-sloppy dopesick-wannabee scene. She didn't "cover" this song, it's missing all the usual twee-cloaked microaggressions hurled by these "indie pop folk" artists against the artistry, skill, and authenticity of the originals. She did not cover this, she straight-out attacked it, she wanted to make that song hurt and came at it with such a bare hatred that it's crossed way over the line for hilarious, it's not even pitiful it's just frightening.
fantastic singing voice though, why go through such lengths to hide it? i hope one day she moves away from this tired, uninspired corporate trash and rocks out with a unique sound thats distinctly hers. i bet she could.
Zzzzzzzz...
