Hi Ben, I am from Myanmar . Also i am one of your fan that always watched your travel vlog and please let me explain a little about the festival that you had seen at the Monastery ( Dala , the other side of Yangon City ) . In Myanmar , we have a festival in the month of November , name is '' Tasaung Taing ( celebrated as a national holiday in Myanmar) '' that means people are offering some things ( Kāṣāya , soap , cash , etc) and meals to the monastery so when you seen at the monastery was the people there are preparing meals for guests and monks for this "Tasaung Taing Festival ".
I've heard a lot about Rohingya Muslims and Islam in Myanmar... Something about Buddhist Monks vs Rohingya Muslims. Hope situation is better for you guys now.
have to watch your videoes to remind me of humanity, always astounded by generosity of the poorest, most countries you visit are the ones with most hardships but the people are amazing, uk could learn alot from these countries.
@@witlof5492 yesterday gave some for guide dogs for the blind and im getting made homeless in a couple of weeks also gave some for poppies as my dad was at dunkirk i always give when i can.
my dad took bullet to the head and obviously survived though he died in 1986 he would give you his last penny if it helped, he taught me some good morals and i am very proud of him.
That’s how I found him as well, now I watch them both, even if it’s the same place together. They each can make a totally different vid on the same thing.
As your Chinese fan, follow your footsteps and embark on a new journey. Although Yangon is not very wealthy, I was moved by the friendliness and smiles of the people. I will visit this country sometime in the future. Time is like a song, and the footprints of travelers will always lead others forward.
@@BackpackerBen Agree Ive been there twice. Last time in 2019. Dunno if its possible to get to Napoli Beach in the north west. try if you´re still there. Best ppl ever.
Please visit Karenni, Karen State, and the borders of Myanmar to understand what is truly happening. Thousands of Myanmar people are suffering from airstrikes and the burning of their hometowns, while Yangon, Mandalay, and Naypyidaw remain under military control
I'd love to visit there someday. It is a nice change from most of your videos from the past year where I was glad you visited so I wouldn't have to. Cheers!
Nice video Ben and Kat. Did you feel any presence of the military while you were touring around ? Did your tour the university ? Wonderful People! All the best guys 🙏🙏 Jim and Harriet
Last video I saw you make from Myanmar, I had to double check my passport because I went to Malaysia, because I went home from Indonesia. It got me worried as if my brother's wife tried to do me wrong. They are two different countries. I had to land in Kuala Lumpur all alone which for me was kind of scary since I never really travel a lot. Long story short, I gave up my seat to my brother's wife so they could sit together, but I had to take a very sketchy flight to Kuala Lumpur. I'm still here so it's all good.

Yangon is far from dangerous as you've seen. Go to Chin State if you really want to go into a war affected zone. Am currently there and it's quite mind blowing.
When I was in Thailand in march, I met a refugee/immigrant girl who left her whole family in Myanmar. I didn't really know the situation of what was happening in the country. Incredible what these people are forced to experience. This was a very informative and enlightening video. Thanks Ben!

Myanmar is looking much better. I remember last month they were in the midst of a civil war and so many people were fleeing the Chinese border seeking asylum because the closer they got to China the safer they were
I've met a fair few peeps from there when I was in Thailand last year - they consider themselves Burmese (and will say Burma). The ones I met, speak good English. Which is how I knew they were 'Burmese' - which shocked them when I said, you're from Myanmer, right? :D
You guys are in the middle of a full-moon Buddhist festival. It's like Loi Krathong from Thailand. The money trees are from donations like those you just gave them. This money goes to different monasteries. The man-made bulls you just encountered were parts of this festival, many man-made animal things are made, and dance with these in this fest. I hope this helps you understand a bit. It's a tricky country.

Great series Ben and Kat really enjoying it. These countries look awesome with genuinely happy and welcoming people!
Love your videos. Cat's smile is addictive, she seems so easy going 😊
Best video for a while on this channel no moaning and a positive attitude.
That's the same I thinking. But I was not surprised. Myanmar Yangon, best place for travel and tourism. Oldest Buddhist country of world.

I briefly went there a few years ago, quick unofficial border run with a dodgy border guard. Kanchanaburi province and back out again.
