Thanks for giving Black women who love their natural hair another way to style their hair ❤ I love all the different methods to style 4c natural hair 😊
I usually do wash and sets to straighten my natural hair. Once I take the rollers out round brush and blow dry just the roots. Then wrap ya hair so that it’s straight. I learned this from the Dominican hair salon in NYC. - I don’t like blow drying the full shaft of my hair and then flat ironing. It’s just too much heat.
I loved it, it came out beautiful! This is how I transitioned from relaxed to natural in 1994! Getting doobie wraps or roller sets were all the rage. I just did it at home and never looked back!!!! Now my daughter is 14 1/2 and natural her whole life and I do her hair the same way!
Christine Amor you’re welcome Sis. My daughter hollered when you said “I’m Shooketh”!!!!! She’s a teenager and speaks like that🤣. Gotta get my hands on that setting cream/lotion you used!! I need to let me hair breathe from crochet braids. 🌺
I have never done this on my natural hair. These are the rollers that I want to use because the rod and other curlers look wayyyy too challenging for my patience level. Thank you for this vid.
Exactly what I was looking for. Grew up getting the good ol’ faithful roller set with Mizani setting lotion - dying under dryer asking “am I dry yet” ☺️. Now that weather is cooler will definitely give it a try. Thanks!
I always do wet sets on my natural hair. It works wonders! I flat iron the roots to reduce volume, and I find that helpful for a natural, updated feel and look. But wet sets really are a timeless option and are a god send for natural hair to have a smooth look with curly hair.
Lmao... I remember when I was in high school and had relaxed hair, my mom would put those large curlers in my hair. Got my ass a few stiff necks... Ahhhh the good old days. Todays young women would never know what a good stiff neck from sleeping on your chin feels like.
I haven’t done a roller set on my natural hair yet, but I already booked my next hair appointment to get one in a week or two. I loved how your hair turned out and I use to get roller sets at the Dominican shops back in the day all the time.
I did it all the time when I had perms but I feel like I am ready to get back to that. Got it done in a salon recently and I love that I get to see its length but it is full of body and life.
❤❤ I prefer a roller set over a round brush blowout. I do a roller set in once a year, usually in December. It's my birth month and since it's cold, I can make the style last more than a week.
Loved it. If you roll your rollers down on the sides and down towards your face in the front- instead of up, you could probably make a beautiful roller wrap from the 90's with lots of body and bounce. Thanks for video.
I did this to my hair when it was transitioning. Always received compliments. I think I'm going to have my hair stylist give me a wet set. It's going to look real nice with my ends cut.
WORK IT, Christine! I've been shopping in earnest for a set of magnetic rollers for a couple of weeks. I'm working to step my hair game up from just a twist-out every week. Your set came out fab. Nice styling work!
So glad I found this video. I just found a bag of magnetic rollers that I forgot about and thought "I wonder if I can use these on my hair not that I'm natural." After seeing this video I'm going to attempt. *fingers crossed*
I giggled my ass awwwf at your reaction to the first roller coming out and then realized you're my kindred spirit when you changed clothes....lmmfao!!!!! From that I'm subscribed... I can not with your reactions....! 😂😂😂😂
This has inspired me 100%! Turned out so beautiful! I’ve been so afraid to put heat on my head but I want to try this. Do you have any hooded drier recommendations?
Thank you so much! And yay, honestly I suggest to get the ones that cost more. The regular $40 dont really cut it. I have a hot tools hooded one I love it
Magnetic roller setting is better for natural hair, than heat styling. I do it all the time. Wear a satin bonnet to bed, style lasts me six days or more.
As a 3Cer, I've taken simple, yet not-so-simple, things like rollersets for granted. I cannot relate to the struggle, which is why I was curious and began watching 4c videos to educate myself. You all, are my heroes. You certainly defy what some say can/cannot be done on 4c hair. I've been roller-setting my hair since I was 14 (I'm a Lotta Body girl), but I was so excited to see YOUR excitement as a first-time roller-setter. Great job!
Its beautiful I prefer my hair like that if they wanna call it old school dont care ... It looks just as if you may have had a blowout with pin curls. Except you did it without the extra heat.
I love the style. D you are right. It’s not always about the hair style but everything else. Thanks so much for sharing. I haven’t tried this yet but you got me snd I will be trying it. I enjoyed watching and the results were great.
Hi! Was your hair wet or did u blow dry it before rolling it? I watch this 2 times and still didn't hear that part lol. I know u said u washed it and it was already sectional, but it looked like your hair was already dried.
Love the natural hair...and its not old school its its timeless!!!
Very feminine, also.
Lady D I agree!
I agree
Oldie but a goodie
“It’s not the hairstyle, it’s your outfit.” Idk why I laughed so hard at that 😂😂. Love this!! 😍😍
JustThia 😂😂thanks boo ❤️
JustThia Yesss!!! The truth
Finally someone that didn't flat iron after rollers. I would like to see how it looked afew days tho
She mic-dropped the roller! 😂 but seriously though, you’ve inspired my next style!
Soleil 😂😂 I hope it works out for you love!! ❤️
Right! Lmbo 😂
Me too!! I was def shooketh as the cool kids say! 😂😂 I just hope mine turns out as good as hers! 🙏🏽🤞🏾
Soleil yes lol my fave part, had to sub!

It’s beautiful and I’m 50 and yes I’ve done this to my natural hair. And your make up is 🔥🔥
Mz Rizz Yesss and thank you so much!!❤️
Christine Amor you’re welcome Sis. My daughter hollered when you said “I’m Shooketh”!!!!! She’s a teenager and speaks like that🤣. Gotta get my hands on that setting cream/lotion you used!! I need to let me hair breathe from crochet braids. 🌺
The hard rollers and some pink lotion was my Holy grail back in the day! Lol. I'd honestly try this again, though. I don't think it's too old school.
Brianna Shelton right?! Lol can never go wrong with a good set. Thanks for watching! ❤️
Lol yessss! I use LottaBody too and it makes my curls last for weeks and they look so pretty!
@@keco7081 Yes! The curls really be long lasting!! 💕
Such a gorgeous look 😍 I never realized the outfit can make or break the look like that. That would saved me a lot of crying in the mirror lol
Samantha Amisial lmao 😂 that’s exactly how I leaned my lesson I was tired of crying 🤷🏽♀️😂
When she took out that first curler and dropped it on the floor. Dead 😂💀
I have never done this on my natural hair. These are the rollers that I want to use because the rod and other curlers look wayyyy too challenging for my patience level. Thank you for this vid.
Sha'ron Jenkins Yes I 100% recommended using these rollers since it keeps the hair in place for you. And thank you for watching!❤️
The best thing to do before blowouts is a good old fashioned roller set.
April P. How come? So you roll your hair and then blow it out?
Hope Growing up, the Dominican Salon’s would roller my hair then blow out the roots only.
U make me wanna do this to my hair..it’s been a while since I rolled my hair..ima do it one day while it’s cold outside
KIMMYK 504 Yes girl try it out! 😊
Me: Okay, that hair style is kind of cute👌🏽
Christine: (changes her outfit)
Me:🤯 yes, yes, YESSSS!!!
MrDavonwalker Lmao 😂😂😂💕
NEVER doubt the Old School. It gets the job done without 'bots.
Just beautiful, I'm natural and I'm trying to figure out something else to do to my hair and I have been thinking about a wet set. This is cute.
Exactly what I was looking for. Grew up getting the good ol’ faithful roller set with Mizani setting lotion - dying under dryer asking “am I dry yet” ☺️. Now that weather is cooler will definitely give it a try. Thanks!
So so so true, sometimes it's not the hair style.. it's the outfit, I've experienced this time and time again. 🙌🙌😘
I do my hair like this a lot. My hair been getting way less split ends too.
Oh wow, her curls came out nice. This is the way to go! Save trips at the salon...and also save some money, and still get the look you want.
Why was I as hype as you when you took down that first roller! That was a great turnout
Me to 🤣🤣🤣
Sis your facial expression when you took that first roller down got you a new subbie!!!!!! Beautiful tho!!!
Yesss 90’s vibes!! I’m buying some rollers and I’m doing this!! Love these types of videos
Just your reaction was priceless. Also looks beautiful. Bless you.

Girl, you rocked that pretty style. Our natural hair is sooooo gorgeous. We just need to learn to style it.
Lmao... I remember when I was in high school and had relaxed hair, my mom would put those large curlers in my hair. Got my ass a few stiff necks... Ahhhh the good old days. Todays young women would never know what a good stiff neck from sleeping on your chin feels like.
Yaa Yaa right lol
I surely remember those days lol!
😂
Trust, we young women remember
And don't mind. Now we have curlformers and flexi rods to interrupt good sleep
Lolol wow triggered. Never Forget stiff necks and roller indents 🙄🙄 🙄
Roller setting your hair is a good thing, it stretches your hair.
Does not stretch the hair
@@alonalove3118 lol, what do you understand by "stretch"?
Cause her hair is definitely stretched 🤔🤦♂️
@@CherieGerry cherie it is Sunday and i am relaxing i really don't care
Yet you care enough to respond. Ignorance must be bliss.
@@CherieGerry shut up

Super cute! You're giving me Jody Watley vibes.😉
Yesss! That's it. She reminded me of someone but I couldn't pin point it..lol
Oldie but a goodie ❤

NaturallyTiTi Yes I love them also thank you! 💕❤️
When you dropped the first roller 😂😂😂😂😂
That turned out so bomb! I wanna try but I'm scared lol
Girl thank you so much this is exactly what I needed for my daughter ❤️
I did it all the time when I had perms but I feel like I am ready to get back to that. Got it done in a salon recently and I love that I get to see its length but it is full of body and life.

Valentíno Quiñones Thank you!!
Beautiful! Brings back memories. My days of suffering through a kinky roller set under a dryer are over. Found a wig that looks just like this.
Intro and video quality is POPPIN WOW

" I'm Shooketh!"🤣
It's very pretty and ladylike.
😆 Your reaction at the first unrolled! lol Yes girl Yes!!!
That’s the only way I straighten my hair I just wrap it at night and it’s straight.
Naomi Clark me too! Been doing this for years with my natural hair.
Do you have 4c hair?
I need to get back to this. I use to do this with my natural hair and it lasts 2 weeks as long as I wrapped it.
This turned out Amazingly Cute! Thanks for sharing!💞
That is really pretty.
I can already see myself attempting like several times before and getting puffy roots and a couple small sections that are frizzy
If u use rubberbands or hair bands should make the roots of ur hair more straight
Yass Baby Sis! Super Cute!🙋🏾♀️🥰👍🏾
Not doing this yet, but I am!!! You did that sis.
Sweetie rock your curls, its beautiful!
