    Big James Henderson bench pressed 740lbs raw in the gym. He benched more than 700 pounds under the strictest IPF competition rules many times with big 2 second pauses WITHOUT WRIST WRAPS, WITHOUT BELT, WITHOUT ARCH 100% raw. Eric Spoto's 722lb had not nearly as good of a form as Henderson had on his 711lb. The 711lb raw bench was performed in a 3-lift-meet, so he did squat before and deadlift afterwards. It's still the all-time world record for a drug-tested competition and for 3-lift-meet.

    I don't do much benching, but I love watching this guy. Strict form all the way through.

    Awesome power James!
    I have people ask me all the time what kind of tricep accessory work i do.
    I always tell them that I do flat benches and close grips. You dont need anything else. People try to get fancy from what they read in magazines.
    You are proving what I always have said.
    High volume low reps.
    I totally agree with your comments and training James.

    I'll be honest with you man, great lifters come from all over. Some of the strongest lifters I've ever met lift in an old barn in the freezing hell of a blizzard. I'm telling ya man, I've met people benching 300, 400, and a couple at even 500 from lifting in cinderblock and concrete houses down the road despite it being 15 degrees in there. So greatness can come from anywhere.

    yes, but the conditions surrounding the lifts are relevant too, lift-off, form, pause, lock-out, judging. Clean, good form lifts are more impressive than unclean lifts even if both get white lights. I think Spoto's 722 is legit by the way. Formwise it's just not nearly as good as Henderson's benching.

  • @cuweights
    @cuweights 13 лет назад

    @Ludichris8531 It is applicable it means start out slow with perfect form then as you go through the motions at a steady pace you gradually get faster and faster....In other words repetition brings reaction...Some of the best benchers in the world tell ppl to keep good form in there warm ups and it will transfer over to there working sets maybe that's why henderson is doing all the weights at the same pace...

    james henderson to me seems like a sound person who is true to themself. even though he was sentenced to 50 years and only served three he obviously has found his stable state of mind. everyone has inner demons, whether or not you find a way to keep them at bay is the difference between good people and bad. the way i see it he has found it through testing his body and being happy with what he has accomplished.
