    My only change would have been plastic lattice. All-in-all, a great project!

    • @offthehook4u
      @offthehook4u 6 лет назад

      TL Bradburn plastic would be much easier for the dog to chew through and the reason he did this in the first place was to keep puppy from being able to get into that area and chew things up. But I agree that vinyl would definitely have made it lighter and easier to move.

      Just tried plastic. It’s not near as sturdy! Flops around.

    I think I’ll take this design but replace the 2x4s with smaller pieces. I don’t need my gate to be this sturdy. Thanks for the help 😊

      Very true. I have spent two weeks trying to figure out how to make a wood rolling gate. This is the first one that is straight and direct, without trying to sell me things or spend 15 minutes talking about his backstory.

    use 1x4s, over 2x4s. cross lap top and bottom beam. cross member on each panel. fence would be more ridged and lighter

  • @paulsmith9341

    Instead of butting the 8 horizontal frame members, next time butt the first layer then bridge the first layer with a full length 2x4 then fill in the ends with a 2x4 cut in half. You won't have to do all that horizontal bracing.

      @blasterbrain1443 9 месяцев назад

      I realize this is at least 1 year behind, as I sit here looking for inspiration from the minds of others, but I believe that the wheels he used are either 8” or 10” diameter wheels, easily found at your local Tractor Supply Company, Home Depot, or Menards.

    I have left over support joists and lumber from my deck rebuild - I want to make a rolling fence but put wagon wheels with a handle so it can be moved easily (no permit needed if it is mobile). The support joists and decking lumber are both about 10 feet long - I have a NFH (neighbor from hell) that I am wanting to block - any suggestions on how to keep it from tipping over? I want it to be long and high - the deck builder cut the pieces for me - I just need to put them together.

    i would have used solid wheels, not much difference in weight but you never get a flat tire.

    4:32 ... So this keeps the dogs in? You seen the other exit behind you? Lol good idea though. Gotta watch them fingers too bro. Can't build much with stumps. So, 4 wheels or 6 wheels? How about 3. You could have had it tighter to the fence as well as hidden most of the ugliness of those tyres. On the base you have let's say 4x2.. tyres are maybe 3 inch wide. If you applied skirting on the base you could have had X3 wheels with only an inch or more of tyre showing.

    • @blasterbrain1443

      They appear to be either 8” or 10” wheels from any of your typical hardware or farm stores. I get mine from Tractor Supply, Home Depot, or Menards - flat-free is my personal preference.

    NETTING INSTEAD OF LATTICE WOULVE BE SOOOOOOO MUCH LIGHTER. 1X2'S INSTEAD OF 2X4'S. EVEN BETTER USING 2X4'S CUT IN HALF LONG WAYS. LOL WHAT KIND OF DOG YOU GOT ? A WEREWOLF? 🤣🤣🤣
