Yet recently, the Rwandan government made the revival of its tourism trade a high economic priority. Commissioned by GQ Magazine to write an article on the subject, writer Jay Kirk teams up with filmmaker Darren Mann for a 2-week holiday in Rwanda. From 600lb gorillas to golf...yes golf, this film takes an offbeat look at the country's plans for tourism through the eyes of two Americans who, quite frankly, didn't know what to expect. They visit a nation on the rise, one whose people put on a happy face for outsiders, while so many ghosts linger on every newly paved street and under every pillow mint.
