- What an addition to an already great show this is! We're starting at the Left Coast Flea Market today, the new outdoor market in Portland, Oregon hosted by @leftcoastrevivals! Her entourage of two dozen vintage dealers have come from as far as Denver to add variety and verve to the Rose City Vintage Market happening indoors right next door!
What a fun bunch of new folks we have at the show, and some great merchandise and displays to boot! I scarf up a deal on a Frankoma vase without really trying as we comb through displays of rattan and wicker, Navajo and Native American jewelry, fun 1950s two-tone patio sets and vintage clothes from the 1940s-on. A wall of big 1980s pottery reminds us there's some good neo-deco styles coming back into the market, while another dealer has a fine selection of pre-Prohibition brewery glassware for happy hour fun!
Only steps away, we venture back into the air-conditioned hall where the Rose City Vintage Market and my booth are found! It's crowded with collectors, so we skirt the edges and show you what's left of the great finds I brought after one of the busiest selling days of my career. Holt Howard and Sascha Brastoff to Blenko and a $1000 Budweiser lamp are still drawing customers, and we get a brief look at two Coro doublet and triplet pins before a young collector takes $700 worth home with her!
Such a great show, and so little time to show it all...we take a quick walk while we can to show some of the other new and returning dealers that have quickly grown Rose City Vintage Market into the premiere Northwest antique show! Vintage lighting, trophies, typewriters, elegant porcelains and furniture by Mies Van der Rohe are luring a lot of our viewers and friends like Jamie of @MidCenturyWasted all the way here! I can't wait to see all the things she got to film on the other end of the hall, since I was too busy to get away to shop myself. What a terrific dual event!

George, I am continually amazed by how much knowledge you have about so many different things.
Genius tbh
@ plethora of knowlege & loves it
Yes, me too!!!❤
So true! He remembers everything about everything.
Ditto! Just love George’s personality as well. Well done George!
Sir George, I must tell you how much I appreciate the humbleness and enthusiasm you bring and release to your followers, members and colleagues. You do this with such ease and graciousness that I completely envy your honest character 😊. Always a pleasure to watch you in action. You're my new favorite superhero of all time ! Just a joy to watch ❤ !!!
Gosh this was exciting to see! 🎉
George and Laura, the original Dynamic Duo. Education and inspiration. I have learned so much about some of my own found objects from you. It's so much fun to see items from my childhood being repurposed and valued by a different generation. You are such an amazing historian and bridge the gap so well from simply old to new and interesting. Thanks for all that you do!
I have been looking forward to seeing how this turned out. So glad the weather was good. Especially for Laura’s outdoor flea market. Congratulations on such a successful show and thank you, George, for showing it to us! 💚💚💚
Hello, George! My husband and I enjoyed meeting you on Sunday. (Kristin and Arnie) It was towards the end of the day on the last day. Even though you must have been tired you were just as sweet as can be. I was the one with the wheelchair turned pull cart and I bought the alexandrite vase, what I lovingly called my “birthday vase”. Take care and hope to see you again! Everyone….he is just as wonderful in person!!!
Yay!!!😅 I'm glad all your hard work paid off!!!❤ There were so many things in your booth that I want!!!💕
George, I love your commentary and the time you take to describe the pieces and the history. You are helping to expand my knowledge and you are so entertaining. I wish I could have been there but it’s a schlep from the U.K......one day 🙏🏻
The brown denby pattern is "arabesque". I inherited a few pieces from my mother, who was from Derbyshire, not far from denby.
Vernon kilns was local to the Southern California area, they did make some interesting planters, also platters, divided plates, many in bright colors... 25-30 years ago used to just trip over the stuff everywhere, just doesn't have the Charisma of Fiestaware, which some of the discontinued colors can be quite profitable... from Pasadena to Orange County , there was a hot bed of independent pottery companies ... Heidi Shoup was one of my favorites... she did do some fabulous figural pieces... sometimes in pairs.... I have a pair of these miraculously wonderful emerald green with gold trim kind of a Geisha girl look with an umbrella... 30 years ago I think I paid $75 for the pair..
.. LAXVESPA-LOSANGELES
I live in Joplin, MO. Frankoma pottery is big here in the OK/MO/TX areas. There is a Frankoma event in September in Supulpa, OK, if you’re interested. There will be speakers talking about the pottery and as I understand it, there will be booths selling too.
George, this was actually so brilliant. I loved it i'd go broke if I was going through that.
I love everything.
SHOW
Showing everything in your booth was excellent.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I always advise new to RUclips reseller channels to follow you, because you educate with your extensive knowledge, not just guess what something is, or only show your favorite collectables, you share it all. And what an amazing show. I wish there was something similar in Iowa
What a fantastic show and you are awesome for taking us with you!! I am so glad it was a success for you George because you certainly deserve it!❤
I wish there was a good show like this or the others you do, near Knoxville, TN!
George - AKA Antique Professor ...awesome information lovely video 📹 😊
With love from SAM
Guwahati, Assam, India 🇮🇳 ♥️
George, I just love your videos. I always learn something new😊
Wow. What a awesome video! Thank you for sharing with us.
Love the green marble box! Also your birdcage man. Sent you an email inquiring. Do you know next summer’s show dates yet?
Always seems to be the weekend after July 4th (2nd weekend of July)
First time watching one of your videos! 😊💖 Thx for being an amazing human & wealth of info!
Do you still have the metal statue holding 3 or 4 bird cages and if you do what price are you asking
2nd comment- I am so very happy the show was such a success! It’s nice to know there are so many people in my city supporting the local vintage markets & vendors. You work so hard & deserve all of the success you are achieving! I am really sorry I missed you this year. Hopefully you’ll be back next year!
Who's from Denver I've been trying to find people from Denver, can you give me her info?
I’ve never seen so many pre prohibition shots glasses for sale in one place before. The few I’ve seen lately generally run between $50-$75. I bet there were some deals there.
A very engaging segment. Also, the shot of you and Laura is wonderful
Always enjoy your video tours and the information. I know you can’t do it all but I would’ve liked to heard a little bit more about pricing on some of the items like the little girl man caring the birdcages and some of the darling cat figurines, etc. hope sometime I would be able to attend such a flea market.
What an amazing show! Thank you for sharing this very informative video with us ❤
Cudos to you George! That was so much fun to watch! And cudos to Laura for planning such a great show! I plan to be there next year and hope to meet all of you. God bless!!
George, You are such a fabulous gentleman!! Love what you do!!!!!!
Laura & George..two peas in the pickin pod
Love you George.... Great knowledge.
Yes, I have 2 bangles their turquoise bangle there. The Real McCoy I got them in the thrift store and thunder Bay about 10 years ago and I went through this page and they had them in, I did the test on them no real apparently there were 56200 summer dollars each and I got 2 of them. How do you sell them?
Hi George! It's Chris in Springfield OH. What a Fabulous show! TFS. I enjoy listening to your wealth of facts! I'm happy for you to do so well$$. I used to watch Laura Caldwell back when she & Selina were partners on a channel. Laura has a keen eye for mcm! (my dghtr's fav decor) Selina now has Vintage Bombshell. Take care & Safe Travels.
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Amazing good things to look at 😊
It was so great to meet you, Jamie and Laura on Sunday George. What a treat! And I love the amber Rainbow glass cat that I bought from you. 🙂
'She's Got Baggage' is a BRILLIANT name! Wish I had thought of it!
I would love to see more of the sterling silver pieces, holloware and flatware. It is always hard to find a good booth/ place to buy. Also, I am just too far away in Kentucky to visit this show. Looked like a cool booth. Thank you for the tour!
I’m so glad the show went so well!
So wonderful you two...so glad building all back,..and more. I love this one...I would love to come to October's Sale. Maybe possible.
I think I'll sell there next year!. What a great video! Thanks George!
Denby pottery has always been popular here in Canada, of course. I have a whole set of Chatsworth that I bought at a Thrift store for $35 that we use as our summer dishes as well as many other pieces from different patterns. I love their designs and durability.
You should put up a sign that says, “Talk to me!” No shame in folks negotiating.
Enjoyed this video, I like how you explan what it is and tell us the price. That's gives me an idea of what items should sell for. Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing. I wish I could have been there. I don't drive and live in Newberg, Oregon so no bus service. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
The amount of Georges knowledge is just unbelievable, thats what an expert sounds like! To be honest: I am a little bit dissapointed with Laura . Her storytelling on her own channel reg. this event sounded a bit different ( or I did not get the details? ): it looked like she was the initiater and main organiser of the whole event. But it was actually only was the outdoor area and the most part of this was organized by Jesse? Well....
❤hi George, You’re knowledge never ceases to amaze me. I don’t know how you hold all that info in your head. Did the bathing beauty on the surfboard tray sell?
Looks like the show is fleshing out to be similar to the old Portland Expo. I chuckled because at one point you referred to the show as the expo!
Thanks for another great video.
I love your videos. Learn so much. I'd like to start doing some vintage markets, but I'm not in a position to bring tables. Do any of them provide tables the way some flea markets do?
Thank you for sharing. 😊
George.Hello Is is safe to visit Portland? I see so many videos showing chaos in Portand and Seattle. Thanks in advance for your counsel.
I have got to figure out a way to get to the October show!
George, you are so positive and knowledgeable, keep up the good work. Love from Pennsylvania.
George I learn something every time I've heard you speak!🤩 Thank you!!! LOVE you & Laura💖
Do you ever report how much you have sold items for? TY. Beautiful video TFS
George, George, George, you are a gem. (The Georges are from It's a Wonderful Life.) 😁
Are there any places in Massachusetts other than Brimfield that have similar flea markets with high quality items.
Beautiful pottery
I am so glad you have a successful show. Thank you for the tour.
I am so sorry I didn’t get to go. It looks fabulous and the weather looks awesome.!!!
So fun thanks for taking us along. Fun video and so many informative tips. TFS
My only regret was not getting to see you a second round, but it was great to see you the first! I hope you’ll consider Japan❤
Watching this makes me even more bummed that I couldn’t make it this year. I live only 15 minutes away to where this show is, but I had my grandchildren on this weekend & didn’t want to take 4 children under the age of 8 shopping (you are welcome vendors:). I so appreciate you giving us a tour, George. I probably saved myself a whole lot of money not going this year, but I still love to support my local vintage & antique dealers. ❤
I had a Singer Featherweigt just like that! I was told quilters like them
Fantastic show, thank you so much!
Thanks so much for sharing the Portland Show. I did Wirfs show through the 80s and 90s. And wished I could have attended . This is an amazing video! Wonder if any of the old school vendors from back in the day were there?
Young people are now into mixing unique pieces with plants and organic elements so hope the markets will be up and up.
Hello from Largo FL. Nice booth, congratulations on your turn out. 🎉
My dinner service is denby. I love their crockery. Those prices are low.
Love you both ❤ glad it went well for you.
Was great to watch your videos. Thank you so much .
OH, I am so sad I missed that Frankhoma vase!!!!!
I was curious on how much you are asking for the bombe chest?
WOW this was a great show. Quite a bit of vintage stuff there. I went to the flea market here and so much stuff but most of it was NEW stuff. Not my thing at all. Have a great day and safe travels
Extremely disappointed I didn't get a chance to see you George. I've had 3 of my grandbabies from Arizona over the summer. I've been on lock doing fun things for them this summer. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED having them with me just bummed I didn't see you this year.
Cool! I was wondering if you went to the LCF?
Great fun, George! Saw so many familiar old things. Cat
George, thus was a great video. Loved all you showed.
I’m so glad you got to film a bit!! George is the Goebel cat planter I got one that belonged to your mother?
No, honestly that one I found in the wild a few weeks ago
@@TheAntiqueNomad well I still love it. It’s some of the only glossy pottery I own.
George, thanks for a glimpse of the show. ❤
Hi, so I have a few pieces of old milk glass that I'm wondering if you can tell me anything about it? The glass doesn't have a shiny finish but a matte finish and they all have a marking of a G with let's say a stick going up through the G with some decorations on the top and the bottom of the stick? I've been researching it online but I can't find anything on it. I truly admire your knowledge and experience on so much I watch you all the time. Thank you so much.
Well, I'm not Geroge, but Imperial Glass marked their glass from 1951-1972 with a mark like that. Google Imperial Glass marks, and see if yours matches.
@@llmifg thank you so much I appreciate you
How do you know if a plate/ cup made for home use as opposed to a restaurant
I'm no expert, but I believe a lot of time it has to do with the weight/sturdiness of the pieces. Restaurantware had to hold up to a lot of "banging around"--from the stacking of plates, to clearing tables, to dishwashing. It needed to be practically indestructible, hence the very dense ceramics used. Some items you can even drop on the floor and they'll survive (depending on the surface). It's great stuff. I particularly love some of the coffee mugs.
✌🏼💚🙏🏻
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saw a West German vase outside! 😊
I liked that marble plastic case and $15. I would buy that. Good price. Great items. Wish I could of gone.
Benneweis Circus is Danish 😎
What a wonderful event!
Pendleton and has a huge employee Surplus, open to the public shop just outside of Portland, they also do looming there and contract sewing... there it's a Hopping Place many of those employees stay there forever till retirement... so if you want to buy seconds or pieces of Pendleton woolens, or other Pendleton items they're available there... it's a small town - I don't remember what the name of it is???
That WAS a great show! I had so much fun and am looking forward to seeing you in Centralia for a few appraisals!
Wasn't it? So happy!
If you still have man with bird cages I would love to buy it..I live in MD
. Please let me know. DEBBIE
Didn’t see you there…wanted to meet you since I follow you on utube. It was a fun show. I came up from Oakland, Ca. Will search for more goodies now that I’m into thrifting.
I love the Murano Cat. Is he still available
Danish circus signs 😊
Oh thank you! I did not recognize the language of my forebears.
It was lovely to meet you George ❤
Congratulations on a great show!
Boy do i miss going to shows
Wonderful to see everything that all those venders brought with them. 😊
Adore her style
Always fun to see what you take to a show and how you set it up in your space ! !
