I am a bangali and I just wanna salute them for having the guts to eat ilish with spoon...
Bengal is not only about mutton chicken fish and luch and misti... It's more than that. You should try mochar ghonto, kochur saak, echor chingri, potoler dolma, dhone pata bata. Please it's a request to do it.
Yessss exactly
Shilebata diye chicken
Yes fr
I was looking for this comment❤️
Also Kolar Khosha Bata , Doi Maach 😅
You're not suppose to have cholar daal with rice, it's meant for luchi..
Chital muitha with rice, mutton kosha with luchi..and it's not baked roshogolla it's "bhapa doii"
And the mustard in the dishes actually looked too much..
Recommendations:
Main course with "Plain white rice"
1. Ilish paturi with
2. Muger daal
3. Chingri macher malai curry
Main course with, "Basanti pualav/Bengali fried rice "
4. Kosha chicken
5. Mutton er jhol/kosha
Starters:
1. Alu bhaja
2. Mutton/chicken/fish cutlets
3. Fish fry
Snack:
1. Mutton kathi roll
2. Mutton chop
3. fish fry
That wasn't Bhapa Doi, it was indeed Baked Rosogolla
Exactly cholar dal always goes with luchi not bhat
Manush e bhul kore
Ikr!
A great comment... Thanks for write down
I would have loved Akshay and Akanksha trying this ! The anchors trying Ilish with spoons was epic fail .. can apply for Guiness Book of World Records 😄
They will nail it for sure 👍🏻
Good suggestion.
Actually I was going to tell that .. chingri and ilish with spoon 😂😂😂
Because ther aren't BENGALI...
@@AishnaPrabhakarMusic there were enough in the crew to sensitize them ! Atleast on the ways to have it.
I really don't think it's a big deal, might matters to you so I do respect that.
You can never get the authentic taste of these epic bengali dishes with frozen food and and that too with spoons..🥴
My mom almost fainted seeing you guys eating ilish machh with spoon..🤭
Please do visit Kolkata and have these same dishes here and fall in love with bengali cuisine..
Jemon foreigners ke dekhe lage .Omni eder ke dekhe lagche
Actually u can. It's not frozen like fridged.. I hve ordered multiple times, tastes exactly same.. But luchi and singara are bad choices for intercity delivery
They might be fish eaters, but the we Assamese and Bengali's are the OG in Fresh Water Fish. Illish maas or any fish with spoon/fork is like blasphemy, Karma will definitely get you back with a fine hair-like bone in the neck/gum/between teeth. 😈😂😂😂
Ilish with spoon killed me🙂
And Singara from Gupta Brothers. How's that bengali???
Kochupatta diye chingri bhappa from kasturi is a very popular delicacy and we love it.
The right way to eat is by mashing the leafy gravy part with rice well and then eat 😋
Exactly
Ye log chole kulche ke bahar nahi nikal sakte! What better can u expect of them? Do hi dish cultural hai delhi ki chole kulche and rajma chawal. Isse bahar kya hai inke paas?! Bengalis ke rich cultural foods ko rate kerne baith gaye!
Amar bhishon vlo lage kochuchingri vapa
exactly,, kasturir ei kochupata diye chingri bhapa is awesome ..
@@sancharichatterjee56no need to be toxic you people are really extra first time try karrahe hai offcourse mistakes toh hoga but haa thoda prepare agar karte before making the video it would have been better.
Combinations are wired. 1. Chitol muithya goes well with steamed rice. 2. Cholardal goes well with luchi. 3. Mutton goes well with basanti polao...4. Don't try hilsa, try bhetki paturi Or bhetki fish fry. Next time add dhokar dalna, moglai parota, fish kobiraji and a combination of steamed rice+bulir dal+aluposto.
Pronunciation of every bengali word was thikthak. Mustard is very important in those dishes. Cholar daal (which is not our staple food, mung masoor is) goes well with luchi and chitol macher muittha goes well with rice. We don't have that much spice in Kolkata biryani. It is a light biryani (you can search the reason in Google, otherwise the comment will go on n on n on) overall a decent vdo.
P.S visiting CR Park on Doshomi (Dashehra) if I find out some good quality baked roshogolla then I'll let you guys know in your next vdo ✌🏼
Love from a Kolkatabasi Bangali who lives in Noida RN. Missing 2 bong bois in OK TESTED 🌻
Yeah please update !
Did you find any place?
You can have only replicas in CR Park but yes you can have Baked Roshogolla in the KAMALA SWEETS in Market 1 area 💗
Robin recreating Vidya Balan’s iconic performance in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyya’ AND it’s Durgashtami. Coincidence? I GUESS SO!
The best attributes I love about Bengali culture are their sarees, dressing sense, heavy make-up, jewelry and their literature and short films, sooo divine and open minded.
Being a Nepalese Dashain(Dusshera in India) is one of the biggest festival of Nepalese as Diwali is there...So as a Nepalese fan I request you to explore some types of Nepalese Dishes too....And I wish Satyam and Akansha will taste them💗
How do you guys celebrate dashain?
@Anityaa and here we don't even touch non-veg during navratri 🤣
Nepali Dashain is not navratri in india.. It's Dusshera 10th navratri
@Anityaa with 🍻
Dashai is celebrated from Dushera (dashami) till Purnima. Navraatri is the nine days which is called nawratha in Nepali. Meat is the centerpiece of Dashain and would like them to try different meat dishes from Dashai.
Ilish mach is like the Best fish ever❤❤Jumbo Ilish Barishali's recipe actually comes from a District called Barishal which is Located in Bangladesh. And Mustard is a very famous ingredient among Bengalis. Ilish Mach is incomplete without Mastard. Loved this video👍🏽
Same goes for Chingri as well, it is West Bengal's authentic dish, and it is awesome with Kochu pata and mustard
We don't eat cholar dal with rice bro😭😭😭😭😭
😂inko study karna chahiye tha achhe se
Not being a Bengali,, Robin's Bengali Accent is soo good.. 😃😃
And yes, Rohit was there.. so why he didn’t tell them the actual way of eating Fish.. you can't eat fish with spoon.. you hv to use your hand..
It wasn't good but he is better than Vivek
Correction: It’s not ‘Baarishaali’, it’s pronounced ‘Bow-ree-shaa-lee’.
(It’s a place in Bangladesh)
I was going to comment the same
বরিশাল😌
Vivek's reaction after having the first bite of baked rosogolla 💖
As @satyam is part of @oktested I want him to bring odia cuisine we all know how underrated odia cuisine are still they are best in there own way .. rosogola odisha ka hai
ROBIN JUST CRACKED THAT SCENE SO WELL😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dal ,vat and jhurjhure aluvaja or begun vaja is perfect combo fr any bengali ..u guys should try this
Ok Tested lost some good fans from Bengal. Absolutely disrespectful. It pisses me off everytime they try each dish the wrong way and then disrespect the dishes. Why there's no one from Bengal to assist them?
It was truly a disappointing and offensive video. Guys come on if you're making a video related to a culture, please do some research before speaking.
Ab pta chala odia food jab log try Karte hain in a wrong way hum odias ko kese lagta hai?😢
Haa boo log to sirf rajma chawal ke siwa or kuch pehechantehi Nehi hey Orr ageye Hum Bengali ke khana rate karne 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 agar ulta sidha bolenge to machli ka kanta gale me atkegahi na
I am not Bengali ....but all my life I have lived in Bengal...I was born and brought up here in west Bengal...and all these dishes are very close to my heart ....Bengali cuisine is love for me ...and I am feeling sooo fuckn proud that they are trying these dishes
2:20 Vivek doing an impression of Amitabh Bachchan doing a Bengali Accent.
To vivek : tumhara smile dekhke kuch kuch hota hai 🌙💕
eating video is incomplete without kanishk😂😂😅😅❣...........but guys loads of love to all..love your videos keep making more videos....and out of syllabus banado jldi waiting for next episode egarly...😊😊😊😊❤❤
Agree
He's actually in Kolkata shooting for Durga pujo & pandal hopping.
The funny part is they are eating ilish machh with spoon but biriyani with hands!!😂😂 literally kano???
Robin and Vivek...Yaar! Those 2 mustard based dishes should have been had well mixed with rice. Since it's a strong flavour take little gravy and more rice. And haath se rice aur mustard gravy mix karke khana tha. Achha lagta. Yaar yeh do Rohits kya kar rahein hai....Unko team ko guide karna chahiye.
That's what I was thinking. Kochupata diye chingri is love for bengali as well as shorshe ilish.
True
I am just very happy about the fact, that they got mishti from Bhim Chandra Nag. It's one of the most old mishtir dokan in Kolkata and they have maintained their legacy.
Happy durga puja to every indian states ✨💓🇮🇳
Actually in grammatical Bengali it is Durga Puja. If mustard makes you cry or sneeze then its perfect.
I love kochu pata chingri... It's my favorite😍...
Durga Puja er time a Bengali food review....
Thanks for appreciated Bengali viewers......
I'm from Kolkata..... 👌❤️
Ilish with spoon!!!🤣 Oh God!!!! 🤣
This dishes should tasted by someone who actually know about the bangali cuisine not some random guys from south and pahad
Please make one person who's aware of the traditional way of eating Bengali or any other cuisine sit along with one who's exploring the cuisine for the first time..or else the entire experience becomes futile..it gives the bong a cringe when you say Ilish bhapa is 'thik thak'😄 And few facts Batishali comes from Barishal which is a place in Bangladesh which is famous for its food and style of cooking.
They don't like the pungency of mustard paste cooked in mustard oil but we bengalis just love it, really goes well with almost all kind of fish
The same people will go gaga over wasabi.. 😂😂
I feel like Vivek has grown so much in so less time.
Great going and I can see him at the top list of OK Tested anchors👍🏻
Sir try odia dishes, I always be in waiting for ok tested videos, n refer my friends to watch ok tested... Love from Odisha 💖💖
Should have taken one bengali host to check are these actually good and tastes close to how bengalis make it at their home.
BECAUSE all these dishes are very tasty and special
EXACTLY MY POINT!!!
Kochupata chingri is a signature dish of Kolkata. Come to kolkata sometime taste these dishes fresh from 6 bullygunge place or Kasturi, you won't go back to delhi till death! There are emotions in bengali dishes more than the taste!
"Nomoskar bob Biswas" That line was legit 😂👌💖
I am pretty sure that Hilsha fish is imported from Bangladesh. And Barisal is a District in Bangladesh.
Why does their every new upload has the same concept as Urban Guide? Is it just me who thinks this ?
That feature is still not added on the app as i am living in mumbai, the feature of callin the food from other cities
1. Bengali men do not look like that. Bollywood has stereotyped Bengalis where 50% of their cast & crew from Bengal till date.
2. Mustard has a very strong taste and aroma. You have to mix it well with rice. If your taste pallet is not familiar with it then it will hit your throat. Cholar Dal should be eaten with Ruti/Porota/Luchi. Where Chitol Macher Muithya should be eaten with Rice.
3. When you do not know about a culture do some research before sitting on camera. Don't forget you have viewers from all over the world and your harsh comments can hurt their feeling. At least clear it on camera that it's your opinion and it should not be generalized.
4. To promote Zomato you lost the authenticity of Bengali foods. Not all foods are made for this. Instead of ordering frozen food if you had visited some Bengali restaurant in Delhi you would have got 50% of the original taste. To get 100% you have to come down to Kolkata.
5. Long back Akshay did 3 videos in Kolkata, one had Rohit Bhattacharya and one had Satyam in it. Please go and rewatch or take some tips from him. Being a Punjabi he showed utmost respect towards the Bengali culture, food, people and also kept his opinion on table.
Lastly I would say I love to watch OK Tasted and will continue watching however being a Bengali this video annoyed me. I believe you people are well educated to understand where it went wrong. Hope you won't repeat in future for any culture.
I totally agree with you
any mustard bengali dish is to be mixed with rice in a skewed ratio, otherwise mustard will overpower.. a lot of rice is to be mixed with a little gravy..
Firstly Chholar Daal isn't the best mate of rice. And secondly, if someone is having a mustard dish for the first time, they should mix it well with the rice, dry. It has a very overpowering taste, that's why. Toh someone should have said that to them. :3
Guys... It's not your fault, seriously.. You need to have some superior level taste to understand the Bengali Cuisine🌚
Feels like now Vivek has his person who is enjoying his jokes😂😂
And Robin is so funny ya💓
The bride is not lifted by brothers during wedding it's done by brothers in law, also the fish is given by groom's family to bride (gayer holud= shagun or gift) which the couple are suppose to eat after the wedding.
Cholar dal puri or luchi k sath khane k liye mitha hota hai... arsalan biriyani thoda light hota hai. Isliye spicy kam hai... and "Chitol" ek fish hai...
Bengali Foods Are The Most Delicious Food In The Planet 🌍. Bengalies have The Most Food Recipe in The World 🌎.❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love them both but as a Bengali ive mixed feelings about this 🤣🤣 too funny
Gys.. ilish mach and vapa chingri is one of the icon of bengal. And mustard preparation is a common item in our everyday food.🙂 Pls try those dishes in a authentic resturent and authentic way not with spoon.
Being a Bengali girl.. I just loved the video... Rosogolla, sondesh , luchi, kolkata biriyani... Is bengalis heritage... Love you guys ❣️
For the first time I felt that ok tested has not done correct back study on bengal and bengali cuisine before making the video. Being a
Bengali and a consistent ok tested watcher I'm disappointed with the hosts of this video. Generally baki jo aate hai wo thora enthusiastically aate hai aur bohot knowledge acquire kerneke baad video banate hai.. Else it was good. Happy Durgapujo
Bengali is such a language that when non-bengali speakers speaks it makes them more cutieeeee🥰
I would like you guys to try these in next Bengali cuisine video like a Part 2 version.. 🤩 1) Luchi with shaada alur torkari & begun bhaja 2) keema ghugni 3) ghee bhaat alu seddho dim seddho 4) Tangra maacher chochhori 5) pabda maacher jhaal 6) bhapa chingri with posto 7) mutton dak bungalow 8) dim er devil 9) bhetki butter fry 10) gurer Rosogolla
It's not baarisali It's barishali ( pronounced as borishali) barishal is a place from bangladesh..so the dish is called borishali ilish💓
Kanishk, Akshay or Akansha would be perfect for this episode.
Lmao if Vivek thinks Bengali families are all open communicators.
Its not entirely true but my Bengali family is very frank😂😂and bengali frnds families also. Mummy log chiraate hain ki ab tak bf or gf kiu nahi hua😂😂😂😂😂
Robin where did you buy the neck_piece from ?????? I wannnaaaa knowww
Out of syllabus???? Le aao yaar
It's better to order fresh food from an authentic Bengali restaurant than ordering frozen items from Bengal..
You should have cholar dal with luchi. Luchi with aloor dum and cholar dal is a classic combo.
Again it was really sad to see such disappointing reactions after they had the chingri & illish preparations, actually
Bengali Fish bhapa dishes should be eaten fresh. Please come to Kolkata and try them again.
actually I think they hate it bc they are north Indians and not used to it
Ikr there's nothing as too much posto
First thing is that they are not knowing how to eat the dishes. Most of the dishes, they ate with spoon jab ki hum Bengalis hamesha hath se khana khate hai tabhi you get to know the real taste of the dishes. The mustard dishes should be eaten with hand by marinate it with rice then the real taste taste would come and the zaika would burst in our mouth 😍. During the whole video I only wished that there should be a Bengali person who would teach them the correct way of eating and enjoy this authentic dishes😄
happy durga pujo ok tested.. onek onek bhalobasha🙏
Bengalees don't get offended bro, they are just trying anothrr cuisine, you cannot be perfect on commenting any unfamiliar cuisine or culture they are just trying to experience it and trying to make their bengali audience happy , appreciate
Where's the podcast 😔 yrr uske bina adhura adhura lg rha hai
you have to come in kolkata for fresh dishes and then taste all of this dish.. you all can't even think how much tasty all of this bengali dish..
Fish and mustard is 🔥🔥🔥😋😋
Vivek is like pure bangali "where's alu in biriyani, it's not a biriyani till there's no alo in it"
This deflated luchi isn't half as tempting as the inflated, puffed luchi that you get in Bengali households. So you need not judge the dish from this sample. 😊
why banshi luchi is a thing on its own
@@pssurvivor true
Leave the spoon and feel the real Bengali vibe 😌😌 love from Kolkata ❤️ Please come in Kolkata @oktested 🎉
P li eqse try shorshe ilish . Posto ilish alll the preparations with ilish which very popularly known as hilsa fish also try rui and katla mash. U will love them. Mutton n chicken is common but please kosha mangsho hich is thick gravy of chicken or mutton. Please bhekti fish
Kochu pata diye chingri bhapa from Kasturi restaurant is one of the famous dish of Kolkata and if it is not eaten in proper manner no one can get the actual taste.
I guess they should have tried shukto.. Aloo posto.. And some more veg dishes also..Still loved the video.. Thank you so much for posting this video on ashtomi❤❤🍁
ek video me kitna khayenge wo bhay.💀
Khete parto na sukto maybe... bolto Teto khete 😆
@@arnabarnabganguly5745ja bolecho
im watching videos featuring vivek continuously for an hour ....he's sso cute🥺
Yes, he is right, "Chital Muthya " was made like "Gattha " Prepare the "Muthya " ( we don't mix dal " ) , Boiled /Poached in Water then fry then mix with gravy 👍🏻 ( Shortest recipe of Chital Muthya 😂😂😂)
Atleast one bengali guy should be here to share how to eat all the dishes
Vivek getting handsome day by day ..
Once you freeze a luchi and then unfreeze it.. it can never taste like the one served right from the cooking pan.
Ok, I will launch the gauntlet of hot takes by saying Robin’s Bengali. Oh wait, he said ‘Meetha Sandesh’ lol
I think akansha and satyam would have understood and appreciated these dishes better. Saying it again who eats ilish with spoon 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Vai galat kar rahe ho yaar... Cholar dal should be eaten with luchi Or roti... Not with rice and chitol muitha not goes with luchi Or porota... It's made for taking with vat.... Guys come to Kolkata...I will show the proper way.... Love from KOLKATA ❤
শারদীয়ার অনেক শুভেচ্ছা তোমাদের সকলকে 💐
Try to visit Kolkata & taste the authenticity ❤. Frozen things will do the job but freshly made puffy luchis & crunchy sinagaras will give you next level of happiness.
The foodgasm Baked ROSHOGOLLA gave you was brilliant 😂
Hilsa or Ilish hat se khana hota hai spoon 🥄 se nehi...cholar dal luchi or Puri ke sath khane ke liye hote hai rice 🍚 ke sath nehi...lagta hai research mai thori si Kami rahe geyi.... Happy Durga Puja Everyone 🙏🙏❤️❤️...
Love you guys!
Request you please try Andhra and Telangana cuisines💜
I would love to see rohit battacharjo and akshay in this video💔💔
You should try food from Odisha ☺❤
Lots of love💗💗💗
Couldn't agree more
The Ilish Barishali name comes from Barishal (a city of Bangladesh).
Plss make chhat puja vedio this year 😩
It's a request akanksha plsss😩
We always prefer Chholar dal with Luchi(poori),It's the best combination. And Sorshe Ilish is not liked by every bengali as shown in the Films. Some prefer IIlish with Posto(popy seeds) as well. It doesn't have that much spiciness.
Delhi has enough decent options for authentic Bong dishes, so apart from being a marketing gimmick for that 'intercity legends' I really don't see why would I bear frozen food. Anyway, I've been spoiled since I have been to the City of Joy and one of the best memories is the early morning walk and then joining so many of the locals seen around the lovely park with the lake at the small but famed spots for shingada and jalebi for an early breakfast. It was a fun new experience and the rest was a joyride too. Delhi's Chitto Park has plenty spots and Oh! Calcutta is great for the higher end.
Any place in delhi where you can find baked rasgulla? Please let me know
That was not cholar dal that was veg dal. There is a huge difference between these two dal.
Like we used to have cholar dal with luchi or paratha and veg dal with rice . They both taste difference
HAPPY DURGA PUJA FROM ODISHA..🥰🥰
Baked rosogolla is new age addition. Traditional bengali sweets are not meant to be too much sweet like sweets from other states.
Robin talking in bengali is the cutest thing of this video.
You guys trying hilsha on your first day of trying bengali food? You guys are quite brave..
eating Hilsha is an art.. its really an art.
