Bengal is not only about mutton chicken fish and luch and misti... It's more than that. You should try mochar ghonto, kochur saak, echor chingri, potoler dolma, dhone pata bata. Please it's a request to do it.

You're not suppose to have cholar daal with rice, it's meant for luchi..
Chital muitha with rice, mutton kosha with luchi..and it's not baked roshogolla it's "bhapa doii"
And the mustard in the dishes actually looked too much..
    Recommendations:
Main course with "Plain white rice"
    1. Ilish paturi with
    2. Muger daal
    3. Chingri macher malai curry
Main course with, "Basanti pualav/Bengali fried rice "
    4. Kosha chicken
    5. Mutton er jhol/kosha
    Starters:
    1. Alu bhaja
    2. Mutton/chicken/fish cutlets
    3. Fish fry
    Snack:
    1. Mutton kathi roll
    2. Mutton chop
    3. fish fry

Combinations are wired. 1. Chitol muithya goes well with steamed rice. 2. Cholardal goes well with luchi. 3. Mutton goes well with basanti polao...4. Don't try hilsa, try bhetki paturi Or bhetki fish fry. Next time add dhokar dalna, moglai parota, fish kobiraji and a combination of steamed rice+bulir dal+aluposto.

  • @priyankamajumder2991

Pronunciation of every bengali word was thikthak. Mustard is very important in those dishes. Cholar daal (which is not our staple food, mung masoor is) goes well with luchi and chitol macher muittha goes well with rice. We don't have that much spice in Kolkata biryani. It is a light biryani (you can search the reason in Google, otherwise the comment will go on n on n on) overall a decent vdo.
P.S visiting CR Park on Doshomi (Dashehra) if I find out some good quality baked roshogolla then I'll let you guys know in your next vdo ✌🏼

    1. Bengali men do not look like that. Bollywood has stereotyped Bengalis where 50% of their cast & crew from Bengal till date.
    2. Mustard has a very strong taste and aroma. You have to mix it well with rice. If your taste pallet is not familiar with it then it will hit your throat. Cholar Dal should be eaten with Ruti/Porota/Luchi. Where Chitol Macher Muithya should be eaten with Rice.
    3. When you do not know about a culture do some research before sitting on camera. Don't forget you have viewers from all over the world and your harsh comments can hurt their feeling. At least clear it on camera that it's your opinion and it should not be generalized.
    4. To promote Zomato you lost the authenticity of Bengali foods. Not all foods are made for this. Instead of ordering frozen food if you had visited some Bengali restaurant in Delhi you would have got 50% of the original taste. To get 100% you have to come down to Kolkata.
    5. Long back Akshay did 3 videos in Kolkata, one had Rohit Bhattacharya and one had Satyam in it. Please go and rewatch or take some tips from him. Being a Punjabi he showed utmost respect towards the Bengali culture, food, people and also kept his opinion on table.
Lastly I would say I love to watch OK Tasted and will continue watching however being a Bengali this video annoyed me. I believe you people are well educated to understand where it went wrong. Hope you won't repeat in future for any culture.

You should have cholar dal with luchi. Luchi with aloor dum and cholar dal is a classic combo.
Again it was really sad to see such disappointing reactions after they had the chingri & illish preparations, actually
Bengali Fish bhapa dishes should be eaten fresh. Please come to Kolkata and try them again.

First thing is that they are not knowing how to eat the dishes. Most of the dishes, they ate with spoon jab ki hum Bengalis hamesha hath se khana khate hai tabhi you get to know the real taste of the dishes. The mustard dishes should be eaten with hand by marinate it with rice then the real taste taste would come and the zaika would burst in our mouth 😍. During the whole video I only wished that there should be a Bengali person who would teach them the correct way of eating and enjoy this authentic dishes😄

This deflated luchi isn't half as tempting as the inflated, puffed luchi that you get in Bengali households. So you need not judge the dish from this sample. 😊

We always prefer Chholar dal with Luchi(poori),It's the best combination. And Sorshe Ilish is not liked by every bengali as shown in the Films. Some prefer IIlish with Posto(popy seeds) as well. It doesn't have that much spiciness.

Delhi has enough decent options for authentic Bong dishes, so apart from being a marketing gimmick for that 'intercity legends' I really don't see why would I bear frozen food. Anyway, I've been spoiled since I have been to the City of Joy and one of the best memories is the early morning walk and then joining so many of the locals seen around the lovely park with the lake at the small but famed spots for shingada and jalebi for an early breakfast. It was a fun new experience and the rest was a joyride too. Delhi's Chitto Park has plenty spots and Oh! Calcutta is great for the higher end.
