I know it’s probably a price range thing, but they need to quit with the 5 wire servos, and the esc/receiver combos. It wouldn’t cost them anymore to make it actual hobby grade, and I think people would be willing to pay 10 extra bucks for those features

I'll be honest, I bought the 12429 (190usd) with all the enthusiasm, and in less than 1 week the main engine died, I bought the spare and change it and the steering died (the engine melted inside, apparently it had loose a round piece) then i
Bought a 124016 (220usd) V2 and in a couple of jumps (nothing very lasted) broke the tower ta shock absorbers (which is plastic).
I am terribly disappointed with WLTOYS and more because in my country they are much more expensive (and there is no guarantee)
Ah, just in case, I used only 2s batteries and I did not wet them, I clean them every time I use them, in short, I take care of them and for me they are an expensive Hobby (as I said , in my country the salary is 300usd so if i spend 200 on a car is considered a little bit expensive)
I have the 124019 and to be honest the only thing they're really good for is upgrading the motor and esc to brushless to try and make it go fast on road for cheap, I broke a wheel axle/cup and you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find an actual replacement part that fits your vehicle, ended up with 3 sets of dogbones and cups for the 144001 or the A29 despite being listed with the part number for mine.
I totally agree with you.Wltoys cars are unbelievably fragile!I have A124007 and every time i take it out something brakes! I changed everything to aluminium.Still brakes everytime!MJX 1/16 is much more reliable.
😮 Kids today's are so lucky, no wire connecting the tx to the rx,nice shocks 🤠🤘
For $99 you can't go wrong, very tempted to grab one and see how it goes with a Max10 and 4s and race it against my V5 Typhon on 4s.
Yeah can't go wrong for this low price especially with this tough chassis and beefy axles and all metal drivetrain, great base model for modding for sure! 🍻👍
I’m so glad that they went and recalled these and did the right thing! A sweet car like this deserves proper suspenders! ! For $99 it’s a bargain all day long! That 560 has got some thump it looks like! I really like this. Gonna have to get Maker fire to suggest having dual rates on the controllers. Wl toys seems to listen to them! Yeah this is a fun brushed buggy for sure Robby, the 560 motor performs well for this buggy! It would have been nice if they fitted a larger capacity lipo considering the size of the modular casing, hopefully they consider doing that in the near future, and yep I spoke to Makerfire as well as the person that goes by the name of WLtoys China on Facebook about a year ago about introducing dual steering rates on their controllers just before they released these new upgraded transmitters with these cars but they still have not bothered going ahead with it as yet. 🤣 Have a good weekend brother 👍🍻
I'm actually glad they've moved away from the aluminum chasis pan. My 104001 had a ton of issues with A arms, and linkages since there was no flexability at all in the chasis. a plate where the front and rear end mounts, plus a fairly robust mid section will save a lot of part breaks. And wow! That body shell is dope AF!
Even the A959-A came out with shocks that are hydraulic that are capable to be oil filled!
Yeah but those tend to leak on the a959/979
@@PERTHWESTOZRC I did a little tweaking on mine after I saw where the oil was coming out, I closed up the small holes with CA and bicarbonate of soda on the side of body of the shock so I have no more leaks.
Nice test, this looks like a pretty good 1/12 buggy! Yeah I got hosim to put shocks on there cars by keep hounding them to use them because everyone hats just spring shocks and it makes people not even buy the RC.

@@jermainedow1481 Nice, good way to learn how to tinker/repair things if they break any parts. You might be able to set a throttle limit, but not sure if they have that on the remote.
@@M.TTT. another costly hobby we can do. My boys and I race bmx and I let them wrench on the bikes as well. The way I see it is it allows me to be a kid again haha ✌🏿
Yep you can turn down the throttle dial on the remote to make it slower for kids

I agree! I don't know what they were thinking tbh initially wanting to release this model with friction shocks, especially since all their previous models the last 4 years always had oil shocks installed.

still waiting for someone in perth to stock the new parts. different spur & pinion, different cvs and diff cups, swingarm shafts are 5mm longer. Enough different that the perth hobby shops can't fix some of the more major things that can go wrong.
btw i've killed a few outer wheel bearings on the brushless version, not sure if its overtightening the wheelnuts

What may be the reason for my 124010 I just bought recently, fresh new batts for transmitter full charge battery on the body but still doesn't exceed 50ft from me.
WLtoys 124008 brushless version of this one is a way better option for the same price!
Tbh I haven't seen the brushless 124008 as low as $99 , pretty sure they are listed at around $120-130 bucks.

Looks like a very high quality RC for the price!!
Will say after pulling trigger and buying a arrma 3s was worth $200 more than this price range….now with all that metal and you replace everything with good electronics etc, idk if a metal chassis is tougher than composites…..great review for any one wanting one!
Should use a skyrc gsm020 slot more accurate mate
No these are accurate as well mate, I have tested this against the gsm020 I have and the skyrc one actually rounds the speed down as there are no decimal readings on the app

@@Sam-nz2zs this gps speed reader as well as many others advertised as cycle computers or speedo's register over triple digits and are just as accurate as the more expensive skyrc ones but at a fraction of the cost

Looks quite decent indeed. The top speed is relatively similar to the brushless version... how do you think they compare in low speed torque and control? My 124016 is fast but the old brushed ones just feel more responsive...
Yes the brushed motor models definitely feel snappier with good torque from a stand still compared to brushless set-ups and they also do not cog which is a plus! Thanks for watching 👍

I was hoping they would have used this chassis and stuck the electronics from the 124017 in it. All my batteries are 2s while the 124010 and the 124008 would be terribly slow on 2s with their smaller motors. Give us this chassis with better electronics and it will sell better.

I'm not a fan of the plastic bottom one good smack and it will be in two pieces
Fair enough but I tend to disagree, the plastic on these are pretty tough and durable for bashing. Alloy chassis are OK but tend to bend if hit hard enough.

All right everybody get ready check your diffs I'm sure there's no grease in them. You would think out of all the comments that tell you check your diffs cuz there's no oil in them you'd think WL toys would put oil or grease in them. Just goes to show you how dumb some companies are. And that's a simple fix put grease in your diffs done. I stay far away from WL toys. Because if they can't put grease in their front and rear diffs a easy fix I don't trust anything else that they do.

They already have a brushless version of this out, it's the 124008
How many more of these of the same crap are they going to push out. How many buggies does WL Toys have now wow. Make something different Make us want to buy your product geesh. You see one You seen them all. That's why people are going to other brands. Other brands make different stuff not 20 buggies.
this buggy (and 08) has completly different chasis etc. It is good improvement
@@MoonspellikIt sure is a darn good chassis because they copied off a MJX hyper go. That's the only thing good about the thing or different I should say
