He is in the bad guys club “a nest of bad men”, drinking with them “whiskey bottles piling high”, bootlegging boozer on the west side of town “doing wrong”. He was just about to call in the District Attorney (the “D A Man”) to bust them when he heard a woman singing. He was struck by one particular feature that coursed his arousal, her 45 inch chest! The rest of the song is him saving her from being arrested! I went to high school with the kids of Roger Cook, one of the guys who wrote this song. His son was a grade ahead of me and his daughter was two years behind me. Cook is from England, and his son retained his British accent, but his daughter has an American accent.
Singer Allan Clarke adds a distinctive sound to all those great Hollies hits! He lent his vocals to the Alan Parsons hit "Breakdown" in 1976 (please review it)!

It was nothing more than a shameless rip off of CCR's Green River. Just like The Pushbike Song was a rip off of Mungo Jerry's In the Summertime. It was profitable for the Hollies though.
