Maryland's Mind Eraser was a friend of mine's first roller coaster ever when he was 19 years old. He had never gotten to go to any theme parks earlier in his life as he grew up in rural Pakistan, but he absolutely adored the heck outta that thing. It was worth my neck pain for the joy on his face

I'm not even a rollercoaster rider, but I like watching coaster videos because I find the engineering and ride experience design interesting. Your account is so excellent because even when you give a poor review to a coaster, you're usually able to include some positive edge to it. It's because of that, I think this video is well-earned! Since you're so generous in your reviews, I know your "worst of" can be trusted because you don't just look for things to complain about. Heck, even in this video you gave two of the rides somewhat the benefit of the doubt!

It’s really sad, because Deja Vu at Six Flags Magic Mountain was one of my favorite coaster of all time. Riding in the back with the original trains was honestly not rough and one of most thrilling experiences, especially on the final trip up the vertical spike upon returning to the station. One of the best coaster experiences of my life but sadly agree and understand what that coaster became with the new premier trains as I was able to ride both iterations. I couldn’t believe how horrible it was. Sad to see my beloved turn into such a problem coaster. RIP the good times

I only rode it once at Magic Mountain, don't remember too much about it except that first drop since me and my ex were sitting in the back. What I do remember a lot better is why I rode it that day. It was the only time I had ever visited Magic Mountain while that coaster was there where it was actually running. It was a constant joke every other time I'd been there that it was basically just a glorified decoration since hardly anyone I knew had actually been able to ride it.

As a New Jersey resident, my home park is Six Flags Great Adventure and I'm glad that you gave the Great American Scream Machine the burial it deserves. I understand that it helped revitalize the park, but it was painful the whole way through, especially for a taller rider like myself where those hard orange restraints felt like knives digging into my shoulders. Superman Ultimate Flight is a much better ride experience, as was just about every other coaster in the park with the exception of Skull Mountain.

Worse one I’ve ever ridden was Mean Streak, Cedar Point. There was something fundamentally flawed with all those Dinn coasters. They never rode right and would slam you back and forth a good six inches and at full speed it was like getting shaken like a rat.

I actually LOVED Dejavu at magic mountain. I’m extremely sick and tired of “boomerang” coasters being literally everywhere, honestly it’s probably my least favorite coaster type ever, but the inverted aspect really breathed life into it, I thought. I loved how the two towers were vertical, instead of just inclined, and the sensation of basically diving straight down at the ground off the first tower before pulling up and shooting through the station. I don’t recall my rides of dejavu being uncomfortable either.

I thought Great American Scream Machine was a great ride. I know it was a rough ride and all but I miss it very much. It was my first Arrow looper, and basically my first coaster with inversions in general.
I rode it on my 12th birthday in 2010, and I didn’t think the ride was all that rough. I found it pretty extreme, but I loved it and hoped to get another ride on it the next year, but sadly it closed down weeks after.
I actually cried after hearing about Great American Scream Machine being demolished, and I hoped that whatever would replace it would be something truly groundbreaking, but sadly all we got was a relocated B&M Stand-Up, and back then, I thought it was a decent replacement, but nowadays feel as though it’s an absolute dishonor to the Arrow looper that many people such as myself truly miss.
If only Six Flags invested in getting a Wing Coaster as GASM’s replacement instead. I don’t hate Green Lantern or anything, but I kinda feel like that ride would’ve benefited at another park, and maybe converted into a Floorless. I do hope Great Adventure does get a B&M Wing coaster one day, and maybe a Dive machine too.
As for the Arrow Mega-loopers, let’s hope that the two named Viper stick around for a bit longer.

However, I think my bottom coaster is Hades. I ride it in 2012, a few years before they redid it, and it was just unbearably rough. The drop onto the tunnel and the immediate turn was especially bad. I'll also give special mention to The Beast. I hated it when I first rode it 5 or 6 years ago, and it was in my bottom 10 until this year. But the retracking did wonders for that ride. I still think it's a middle of the pack ride at King's Island. But it is leaps and bounds better than before.

Great American Scream Machine was definitely rough, just like all old Arrow loopers. However, it was a walk in the park compared to Viper, the old Togo coaster at the same park. Viper was so rough that it left you feeling like a professional boxer had beaten you up. The car would shake non-stop during the entire ride and those shoulder restraints were the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced.

I'm surprised that Minebuster is on this list. This year, it has been my favourite roller coaster other than the big 3. Since it's mostly a straight track, it does has some swaying but this year it has been the smoothest ever. The worst coaster I've ever ridden was mean streak, I rode this coaster back in 2016 when I was 10 years old, the restraints gave me a headache as I was really short at the time and I was not at all sad when it was removed. Maybe if I was a little taller it would've been a better ride but then again I think my dad said he disliked it too. Full on agree with SFAm Mind Eraser being a top pick. Sad it's now my home park. I still go back and forth if Mind Eraser or Roar is worse because Roar definitely caused me more injury, but Mind Eraser is particularly bad for an extremely bad/common model. What really sticks out to me is the oddly tall shoulder padding they put on the restraints for this SLC. I haven't seen those on any other SLC's or any other ride with over the shoulder restraints. It feels like its genuinely designed to ensure headbanging for all guests. I usually get my shoulders crushed due to my excessive height and can avoid the headbanging, but this is an exception and I get all the pain a roller coaster can dish out.

We were living in Beijing at the time and we would go to this park consisted of 100% Chinese roller coasters/flat rides, and I even got the "honor" to ride Jiuhua Rides' first roller coaster. It consisted of one lift hill followed by one helix (forceless and too fast) and the brakes felt like the train was being slammed so hard into a metal bar that something bent. There was also a motorbike coaster (similar to Vekoma's, also made by Jiuhua) that I rode. I’m honestly glad they got rid of the Blue streak. It was BAD.

Thank you for reviewing Canadas wonderland. It’s my home park, and I never see it on popular RUclips channels for roller coasters. And I do agree, flight deck isn’t as bad as it’s reputation makes it to be. I actually enjoyed flight deck, though I did come off with a mild headache.

Flight Deck was my first SLC and because I didn't know how rough these coasters were at the time, I stupidly wore my glasses on that ride...I'm lucky that they either didn't break or fall off my face completely. That being said, the ride was pretty fun and I did like the overall layout of the ride, but ya, the headbanging was pretty brutal.

Eugh I feel this 😂 I used to love "Volare" in Vienna because of this unique flying/rocket concept. But the ride is so bumpy, your shoulders hurt days afterwards...
and Blue Tornado in Gardaland Italy was the same shit 🥴 looked great but endet up just being a massive headache inducer. (Raptor and Oblivion made up for it, damn those were great smooth rides ❤️❤️❤️)

I rode Aftershock, the giant inverted boomerang coaster at Idaho's Silverwood Theme Park and enjoyed it. Wonder if you would like it better than Goliath

I rode aftershock too as my first coaster and I really enjoyed it alot it was so smooth and I didn't get any headbanging, but I did get a massive headache after, probably bc I was crying so much from enjoying it and just the g forces lol

Finally someone who agrees with pirates hideaway being so bad because i rode it and it felt like the most jankiest mouse trap coaster on the history of this planet.
And I also got a headache, the most atrocious headache, on sea serpent.

For Minebuster, I think Titan Track and a reprofile of that helix would be so good, it needs to be banked more since there is just too many laterals, we don't have a really good helix in the park so it will work well

      @sooperdoopercooper2939 2 года назад

I personally really like minebuster the way it is. Sure it's rough, but I think that makes it more fun, and if you're not on a wheel, it's actually pretty bearable. I also love the amount of laterals on that final helix, it scares me everytime cause it feels like the train will fly off the track!

Grand National at Blackpool pleasure Beach is the ROUGHEST Ride I've EVER been on. I know that its over 80 years old, but you feel like your in a washing machine whilst getting violently flung into a river!

This is such an interesting list. I did a Six Flags trip last year, and a Cedar Fair one this year (just a couple weeks ago). So starting with Vortex, I don't remember it being particularly bad. At worst it was boring and kinda pointless. But my GOD did it have perhaps the WORST ops I've ever seen. Each train takes EONS to load. As for Grizzly, it for sure has aged poorly, but I road it as a teen many years ago and LOVED it. A retracking ala what they did with The Beast would for sure do it justice. Now on to SLCs....Mind Eraser as SFA was my first, and I kinda liked it. No idea why everyone craps on that one -- though year for sure Riddler at SFNE is a lot better. I didn't really have a problem with Darian Lake's one either. But.....this year I rode the one at Michigan's Adventure -- THAT one for sure would be near the top of my worst list (along with, interestingly, the OTHER GASM in Georgia).

been to the six flags discovery kingdom there's this ride called Kong and it is legitly the worst coaster I've ever ridden and everytime I went back to that park I never want to ride it again and it feels like it's going to fall apart at any second ( it also looks like it is ) Medusa as well is looking really old recounting from last time I rode it, the ride was also feeling more rough than usual

Since SFNE is my home park, my hot take is that I loved Goliath when it was around, in fact I’d say it was my 3rd favorite coaster after Superman and Wicked Cyclone. That being said, last time I rode it, I was a teenager, so maybe I can attribute that to a less painful ride. I thought the inversions were fun and the vertical spikes provided a really unique hanging experience. Curious if anyone agrees

Goliath was my 3rd favorite as well. Joker and Wicked Cyclone are the two above it, with Joker being my favorite.

I'm so glad you mentioned MineBuster! My mom loves it, and I'm convinced she only likes it from nostalgia. Apparently it's getting retracting this year, so maybe it'll be a better ride? It was my first ever wooden coaster and it kind of tainted wooden coasters for me

The Riddler Revenge at Six Flags New England was rebranded from Mind Eraser. The last time I rode it it was still called Mind Eraser..... and it sucked.
I lived it when they first built it because I never went on a ride like that before. But maybe like 6 or 7 years ago was the last time I went on it and it was Jerry as hell and my head was all over the place. Maybe those new restraints make it better, I don't know

I completely understand the hate on Vortex. Especially if you’ve only been to Carowinds once or twice. But when it’s your home park, there’s something about Vortex that makes me enjoy riding it in between the good coasters. It’s almost like every time I go there, I forget it exists until I stumble across its hidden queue in the park, so why not take 5 minutes for a ride? There’s never a line and usually the restraints aren’t that bad. However some seats shake more than others which can make it uncomfortable.

The only ride I can think of that gives me the worst headache is Colossus at Thorpe park, Saw the ride is a bit rough but not as rough as Colossus me and my partner always end up with headaches from it, I try to go on it once whenever I visit but each time I forget how rough it is
