Let’s Get Trimmed - Pottery Trimming Tutorial

  • In this video I tried to show different ways to treat the same shapes, cylinder and bulbous. Two simple shapes with 8 different solutions. I think this is a great place to start after you have acquired some basic skills in trimming. Keep in mind that when you are trimming, your not just shaping a pot, you are giving it personality.
    Tip: Grab a leather hard pot, secure it to the wheel and experiment with your trimming tools to see the different cuts they make at different angles. Once you understand which tools give you the shapes/cuts you need, the better you will become at trimming.

      Hello Keith… I am a teacher at Barnsdall, but we have yet to get back to in person ceramic classes. I also hear the ceramic program needs new kilns. It may take a moment.
