Just to add a bit of context - Eddie Bravo is an esteemed BJJ ex-competitor and current coach. Him and Joe are also very close friends and he's mildly regular on the podcast. Don't think he would've made it that long with anyone else lol.

btw, the line between when an Olympic athlete can and can't compete in the female divisions IS arbitrary and HAS changed over the years. which makes the rules seem... well, _arbitrary_ (and that's completely the trans debate). CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy, is a progressive degenerative brain disease that is caused by repeated head injuries. The signs and symptoms of CTE typically appear years or even decades after the last head injury. They can include:
      Memory loss
      Confusion
      Impaired judgment
      Aggression
      Depression
      Suicidal thoughts
Difficulty planning and carrying out tasks

It's important to note that the symptoms of CTE can be similar to those of other brain disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, and can only be diagnosed definitively after death through examination of brain tissue.
Memory loss is one of the most common symptoms of CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy. CTE is a progressive degenerative brain disease that is caused by repeated head injuries. The memory loss associated with CTE can range from mild to severe and can affect different types of memory, such as short-term memory, long-term memory, and the ability to form new memories
People with CTE may experience confusion as a result of damage to the brain's memory and executive function centers. This can manifest in a variety of ways, including difficulty understanding or processing information, disorientation, and difficulty making decisions.
Confusion can occur alongside other symptoms of CTE, such as memory loss, impaired judgment, aggression, depression, suicidal thoughts, difficulty planning and carrying out tasks
Impaired judgment is a common symptom of CTE, or chronic traumatic encephalopathy, which is a progressive degenerative brain disease caused by repeated head injuries. People with CTE may have difficulty making sound decisions, assessing risks and benefits, and controlling impulsive behaviors. This can occur because the brain damage caused by CTE affects the areas of the brain responsible for decision making, impulse control, and emotional regulation.
Impaired judgment can occur alongside other symptoms of CTE
Aggression People with CTE may experience changes in mood and behavior, including increased irritability, impulsivity, and aggression. This can be caused by damage to the brain's emotional regulation centers, which can lead to difficulty controlling emotions and impulses.

Joe is a hypebeast, he always buys in on the hype of something. This leads him to often follow false leads or admit ignorance, which isn't always a net profit when he then has to backtrack, but especially not when he gives a platform to misinformation. The podcast has highs and lows but I do think as long as the listener/viewer stays vigilant and takes everything with a grain of salt and stays critical to everything that is being said, then it can be a massively entertaining podcast.
But ultimately you're right, I do believe Joe always stays true to himself and he does admit when he's wrong. He's good at staying calm during arguments and he does question others' arguments, like is showcased in this video.

If there's one thing you can say about Joe it's that he's one hell of a good show host. I have yet to see a podcast host on his level. The guy feels and sounds so approachable and smart. The man is nice to all his guests and treats everyone with respect, until they cross a line. And even then he's trying his damnedest to bring his guests back to a more approachable level, where they are allowed to open up and widen their minds. That's something a lot more podcast hosts and streamers should do. That's how you keep an interesting conversation going.

Yes, he somehow says stupid stuff. We all do. It's perfectly human to dumb as a jackass, at times. My point is, even when something at first, is contrary to his own beliefs, he's man enough to listen to the experts, instead of acting like an overgrown, knows-it-all, no good cry baby (or a "no business, born insecure MOTHERFUCKER!", to quote Dolemite.).

Proving something is actually very difficult, I believe the earth is round but it's not just because of one fact.
For example, in the past people thought bad smells were the cause of illnesses so then the doctors wore masks with pleasant smelling things inside (you've probably seen the bird like plague doctor masks) and they noticed they got sick less. By your logic this "proves" that bad smells cause the illnesses. Clearly that isn't true and we know it isn't now. (There was other evidence for the smells as well, poor hygiene causes bad smells and germs to spread, they just noticed the bad smells not knowing about the germs)
