I’m stunned that so many Christian parents don’t talk to their kids about sex. I’ve never understood that. I’m glad Sadie and her mom have an open relationship and can talk about this.
I think the misconception begins with Christian parents believing that if sex is not talked about, that it won’t happen. But the problem is that humans are naturally curious, especially around the ages when puberty begins and your body experiences all new feelings and emotions. So if you as the parent, will not educate your children, you better believe someone else will. And more likely than not, it’s going to be either misinformation or education that does not align with your viewpoint.
Yes! I have 6 kids, and all of my kids 0-12 have had “the talk” at whatever age is appropriate. It starts small at a very young age and builds and builds until you can paint this larger beautifully designed picture of God’s plan for His people. Sure, sometimes your kids get weirded out but THAT’S age appropriate. Take it in stride. When they ask, they’re ready.
As someone who has had premarital sex and GOT PREGNANT, as a religious woman, THANK YOU. It took me YEARS to forgive myself. I had public ridicule because I was a Christian. Today- Thank God for my baby. She gave me a reason to keep going when I felt no purpose. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Sadie and your momma for speaking truth on this. I’m so sorry that you were always turned away when you went to your family about it. Christ Jesus has so much love for you, more than we could ever know!!!!! Something that helps me is my community that have the same beliefs as me. Church groups, small groups, or even big groups associated with Christianity. This whole Robertson family is truly blessed by God. They have all taught me so much and blessed me so much in my walk. It was from the unashamed podcast that I really heard the gospel from Phil for the first time and shortly after found a church and was baptized. I'm now a member and have been walking with Jesus for a year and three months. Sadie I love these podcast with your mom so much. I'm 34 and a single mom and I think I've walked with my head down in shame for a long time, but God is redeeming me a little more each day and he will in this area of my life as well.

As someone who has been sexually assaulted, I really appreciate you guys taking the time to talk about that specifically around the mid-way point in the video. I feel like so many people forget that sometimes bad/dangerous/abusive sexual experiences happen out of the victim’s control and therefore they cannot control the relationship or experience they have had and continue to have with the topic of sex.

She needs guidance from someone in the church or of her faith, that have been there and someone who can point out scripture that teaches us how to deal with this. The answers are all in the Bible though not all have the eyes to see or ears to hear
I’ve been going through the same thing since becoming a Christian. I was raised in a religious household but not a Godly household. My sisters now have nothing to do with God and one actively says he’s not real. A real God thing happened after continuously praying and a patient I was taking care of started opening up to me that she is going through the same thing. My only advice to her was that she needs to keep praying for them but accept that they have to come to the realization on their own and be overall at peace. One of God’s many gifts to us is the gift of peace. Even when we don’t like a situation and wish for change, God is there and sees us right where we are and gives us the ultimate comfort and peace.

I understand you being bothered about it. But I thought of it this way, if God has forgiven my partner for having sex previously then what right do I have to be worried or bothered about it
I cried watching this. This is an uncomfortable topic but something that really needs to be talked about. I have sexual trauma and still carry the fact that its my fault and that I'm unsure and it means so much with you standing against that and that I'm saved by the blood of Christ.
One analogy I heard was imagine you are on a cliff path, you cling to the wall to keep as far away from the edge as possible. That's how it should be in dating you stay so far away from sexual interactions that it doesn't even become an issue for you both. You don't walk up to the edge to try it, you stay as far away from it as you can. Too far is tempting each other, touching each other in a way that could cause arousal, being left alone staying over at each others houses, kissing in a way that causing a sexual reaction
Yeah, if you flirt with temptation, more than likely you will succumb to it. Speaking from experience. If you question an action, thats probably a sign you shouldnt do it.
Thank you for talking about this! I was raised in a cult and was s/a when I was 4 yrs old, blamed for it, and beaten by my dad with a leather strap for it. I learned about sex from my friends and never had a conversation about it with my mom. I got married in the cult and had 4 kids in 6 yrs ,my son was s/a and my mom tried to get me to beat him for it, he was a preschooler 🤦♀️and the person who abused him was also doing it to other kids and my mom was trying to cover it up. We left the cult ,moved 2000 miles and I have gone no contactwith my parents, although I try to contact my siblings, most don't dare to cross my mom by talking to me while I'm no contact with her. Jesus has brought me so far, and I am determined to break generational curses, I have explained to my 7 yr old where babies come from, and it was the best day of my life. He was like, " Jesus has the best ideas." I have so much learning and healing to do in this area. Keep on sharing!

This testimony broke my heart! It is no wonder people in cultish/legalistic backgrounds reject all religion and want nothing to do with Christianity. But wow, you’re resilience is a blessing to me! It is amazing how nothing the enemy throws at us can stop Christ’s healing grace and love. I pray you grow in your love for Him and in your understanding of God’s intentions for sex. I love this video so much because my fiancé and I had a baby when we were young at 18 and it was such a blessing to have her. She is my best friend but now we are getting married on March 11 and we have been waiting for marriage because why continue to sin. Our relationship has grown so much since finding Jesus back in November 2022!

My husband and I both had sex before marriage, but went through pre-marital counseling with our pastor and we learned what God truly meant for sex and we stopped until our wedding night. Waiting those 6 or so months made it SO much better and more meaningful for our wedding night.
33:00 Jesus can take the rose, and restore it, and make it even more beautiful than it was before because Jesus restores us. The analogy was good in the sense of what it does to you. However, we can become new again by submission to Jesus, and He will restore us if we become fully committed to Him allowing Him to renew us. To the woman who was caught in adultery, and brought before Jesus by the pharisees, Jesus forgave her and told he to sin no more. Likewise, those who have slept around should repent and sin no more as Jesus commanded.

I think it’s awesome that you were following God and waiting for the man that he brings you. I can tell you that I didn’t get this right from the start, but once I committed myself to the Lord and waiting for who he had for me he changed my situation and what he had for me was more wonderful than I could’ve imagined
This is such an important topic. In my opinion this video was not balanced. It included: sex is good, sex is physical, emotional, and spiritual, God is forgiving, God values us, abuse can happen, and purity culture is harmful. I completely agree with all of those ideas. My concern is the things not mentioned: sexual immorality is sin and needs to be repented biblically before God can forgive us. Purity culture happened 30 yrs ago and we are still apologizing for it. The pendulum has swung the other way and now Christians are scared to say sex outside marriage is sin. Sexual immorality is the only sin that we sin against God AND ourselves (our own bodies). It is quite unique. I think sometimes people use “all have fallen short” to make them feel less of their sin but God is actually saying this to show how sinful man is. I do believe sexual sin also includes the sin of unbelief. It is a lack of trust. When we sin, sorrow is the appropriate response. Not worldly sorrow that I am bad, I have no value but godly sorrow , what can I do to make it right. And lastly, there was no mention of porn (watching sex). Which I know could be its own show. Just some of things I thought was missing. But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1Cor.6.17-20 Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it-I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while- yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. My biggest thing that’s wrong is putting certain woman or men on a social pedestal as worthy of waiting and others not based in looks or class ranking. The hierarchy is unreal in church.
I believe God believes that His way is the correct way. All people are worth the wait in His eyes. His Word illustrates this throughout. He died for all, even us that have felt less than others

Sadie, I wish so badly that I had this video sharing biblical truths when I was hurt and shamed by the church as a Christian in college surrounded by purity culture. It has skewed my view of God, of myself, and of sex and left lingering shame and a lack of relationship with God. Hearing you and your mom share these truths while being thoughtful and inclusive of many people’s traumas has brought a new wave of healing.
It's tough because sin, by the nature of it, brings shame. Shame was the first consequence of sin in Genesis 3. I don't think this is at all avoidable. Where the church is lacking, I think, is in pointing toward the glory of His design and promoting a culture of grace...that there is grace to cover all of our shortcomings. I think going for this fantasy where there is no shame or guilt is Tower of Babel stuff. The shame will come... it's a matter of how quickly we can move into guilt, repentance and freedom from sin.
This podcast is so humbling, I was abused as a teen and was hurt in the past and it created a cycle this talk is really humbling and I I needed to hear some of these words.
I had a REALLY messed up view of sex, because I learned about sex at the age of 6 or 7 by watching porn videos. Then I didn't get ANY good teaching about sex until I read the Bible at the age of 25. I'm praying for the youth to get this type of good teaching about sex at a much younger age than I did. God, please bless this video and get it out to millions of people who need to know the truth about what sex is all about.
I find this conversation hard to have these days. We have to warn our kids about their bodies, and what's appropriate and not appropriate, that if any one ever says "don't tell your mom" that's a indication they need to. Good touching bad touching their private areas etc for the data we receive on sexual abuse and molestation and then we have to tell them about appropriateness with their bodies when they are adults/married.
Interesting you discussed “the rose” analogy since I recently heard it as a cake analogy. How this teacher brought 12 cupcakes to class and asked the class who would want the cupcake untouched and everyone raised their hand, the teacher takes a bite of the cupcake and asks again who wants it now, some kids being silly still raised their hands, the teacher then pours dirt all over and asks one last time now who wants the cupcake and no one raises their hand. I thought it was a very brutal way of talking about Chasity. But I loved how you said Jesus would still want this rose. In essence we’ve all sinned, made mistakes, but I believe it’s what you do next to redeem yourself and ask forgiveness.
These object lessons in my opinion do far more harm than good. Fact of the matter is that of the generation that was subjected to abstinence education less than 12 % abstained from premarital sex and those stats could apply to individuals who couldn’t get any anyway. The fact is that there is a near zero chance that you will find a person post 30 who has not had multiple sexual partners Christian or not. We were not designed to marry pushing middle age.

as a Christian wrestling with asexuality and confusion about whether or not God wants romance for me, it helps to go back to the text and remember what God says about romance and marriage and sex. I have an opposite kind of insecurity (or even shame) than many others have when it comes to this topic, but it helps me even in my circumstance to recognize the truths of the matter and define my experience accordingly. It can feel lonely sometimes to be excluded from something so universal, and it’s incredibly confusing and blurry when that thing is simultaneously everywhere and avoided. hope that makes sense. anyway all that to say thank you for talking about this and for all the resources you provide about faith
I got the talk before I started kindergarten. My parents were expecting my baby sister I wanted to know where babies come from. I gave my cousin the talk with Barbies later 😂 and when we got found out, I said “it’s ok mommy, they’re married!”

This was really nice - the only thing that concerns me is that if 'the blood of christ can cure all' then that lets men who are the demand for filmed sexual exploitation of ANY genre and trafficking off the hook (I realize that women and girls can consume porn less often, which is unfortunate, but the messages that men get in pornography - which is a reflection of their fantasies - terrify me). It's very telling that men are the source of trafficking yet they look at women who have been exploited with such distain.

I think I would disagree and say that, yes, premarital sex with other people is a mistreatment of the person you end up marrying if you end up marrying. Sin is not just individualistic. But God forgives that too, and whoever you end up marrying needs to understand that God has forgiven the way you sinned against them if you have repented of it. It's not something for either person to carry once it's been repented of and forgiven.
Anyone out there struggling with the topic of uncomfortable or painful intercourse? That intercourse sex is not anything to look forward to because there's no pleasure in it? Is this a very rare thing ?
I just saw this topic. Please go get an exam. I was struggling with this to the point that hubs felt unwanted somewhat & it was causing wedge in our marriage. I went to the Dr. & it can be a lot of things, pcos, endometriosis polys (I had both), cervical cancer etc. God designed our bodies to perfectly become one. So if anything is that painful you’re having a medical issue that Dr. Can help you with! Our bodies are temples, we have to take care of them. Hugs!

At my church they used the analogy of velcro for having more than one sexual partner 😅 saying things like that takes away from the power of God to be able to cleanse and change people who want to do things His way regardless of their past.
I heard this too. But they glued a salt and pepper shaker together and used that analogy of what happens if you try to rip it apart. I think they were just trying to teach against divorce but.....kind of dumb analogy

Sadie, I would invite you to read The Great Sex Rescue book. It has helped free me from all the purity culture crap I was fed during the purity culture era.
I thankfully have been open and honest with age appropriate conversations about sex and the body as my children have grown up. I built that open conversation and platform for my children to be comfortable to come to me about any quetions and have an open conversation. I want them to have the education and responsibility of sex. My parents never talked to me about anything about puberty, period, or sex. I learned that through sex ed and responsibility of contraceptives and personal responsibility. Religion never was part of anything about it. Sometimes the conversations with teenagers is difficult and can be uncomfortable for them. It is about information and being open and honest. This was a great video to share with my teenagers.
Amazing what the church says about sex. I never get sick of that view. God always blesses those who want to wait for their husband, no matter what happens with their mistakes in Bible reading. Such a cool video to represent that. Very important. Awesome and so worth it. Amen to this happily :)

I want to encourage anyone who is struggling with sexual sin. I had premarital sex with multiple partners before I turned my life over to the Lord. I knew that God commands us not to engage in sexual immorality so I knew that I was not going to engage in that until I was married to my husband. Don’t think that because you’ve already sinned in that way that it doesn’t matter if you keep doing it. If I had continued with that mind set I would not have the husband that God gave to me. We met after we were both born again and we were committed to following all of God’s commands for our lives. Because of that we have the most beautiful relationship and it is the greatest gift of my life. I truly believe that if I had not changed my lifestyle, I would not have my husband and family today. So I really hope this encourages anyone who is struggling with this. God will bless you if you keep His commands!
Your reference of Ephesians again does not say that sex before marriage is a sin. You are assuming much and putting extra words into the Bible. It doesn't say you have to be married in a ceremony in order to be one. You talk as if sex is dirty outside of marriage, in a loving committed relationship. That is not the truth. You are adding things to the Bible. I had always believed this as well, but upon further study, it is not clear at all. This is just assumed in the Christian world.
My daughter is almost 13 and she doesn't know about the sex. She knows where babies come from, but not how they are created. Please help me know when and how in a way God is involved 🙏
Sex should not be anyone's top priority. The sexual revolution was about not seeing sex as indecent; it was never about the correct occasions to engage in sex. There are plenty of videos on RUclips advocating adultery. Sex is not solely the issue in these situations. Married people of both genders feel betrayed by a partner's affair.

Because think about when our grandparents were growing up in the 50s (lol clearly I am vibing with Miss Sadie) premarital sex was considered not okay by the standards of the secular culture. 60-70 years later the script has totally flipped. So I love you said God’s perspective hasn’t changed… because the worlds is just too hard to keep up with.
All I learned about sex is that it is something you never do because it brings shame to your family and makes you a whore then I was SA’d and shamed and beaten down by other Christians and still 10 years later I struggle everyday with the pain and Shame and have pulled so far from the church and people. I’ve tried to give it to God but I don’t know how..
Isn’t it so beautiful and powerful that in many cases, God brings life (pregnancy) from death (sin, in this case sex outside of marriage). It’s kind of like God was like, “naw, hold your roll, Satan, take that” Like he is SO good and so mighty that he takes what brings spiritual death and from it brings forth life. Highly recommend the book Making Sex Great Again by Sheila Gregoir! I recommend it to all married and soon to be married people. Even singles. Flipping the switch on the lies the church has made up about all things sex.

But premarital sex has mental health issues as well. You may need psychological and spiritual counseling to undo that damage. STDs is not solely about the number of people you sin with. It’s also about how many they sin with.
The conversation with every single child about sex begins at birth with how parents relate to their offspring to encourage an environment where children FEEL that they can come to their parents anytime any which way to ask questions and make requests about ANYTHING.
It is so important to speak the truth of asking for forgiveness, repenting, and being washed by God so that we are as pure as fresh, sparkling, white snow. When I was young I thought that I wasn’t being a “good enough “ Christian because I couldn’t stop doing things I was doing. As an adult I knew He forgave me every time I asked, but I still didn’t recognize that I was fully covered by His blood when I would sin time and time again. Now that I have seen the truth after being confused for decades, I am walking a much better path with the Lord. I am not sinning as often or giving into temptation as often. Mine was to do with alcohol consumption. But now that I live like I am free - because I am- it is somehow easier to make the right choices He wants me to choose.

I’m stunned that so many Christian parents don’t talk to their kids about sex. I’ve never understood that. I’m glad Sadie and her mom have an open relationship and can talk about this.
I think the misconception begins with Christian parents believing that if sex is not talked about, that it won’t happen. But the problem is that humans are naturally curious, especially around the ages when puberty begins and your body experiences all new feelings and emotions. So if you as the parent, will not educate your children, you better believe someone else will. And more likely than not, it’s going to be either misinformation or education that does not align with your viewpoint.
Yes! I have 6 kids, and all of my kids 0-12 have had “the talk” at whatever age is appropriate. It starts small at a very young age and builds and builds until you can paint this larger beautifully designed picture of God’s plan for His people. Sure, sometimes your kids get weirded out but THAT’S age appropriate. Take it in stride. When they ask, they’re ready.
The message is “don’t do it!” But if you get married then anything’s game.
As someone who has had premarital sex and GOT PREGNANT, as a religious woman, THANK YOU. It took me YEARS to forgive myself. I had public ridicule because I was a Christian. Today- Thank God for my baby. She gave me a reason to keep going when I felt no purpose. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Sadie and your momma for speaking truth on this. It’s sad how purity culture makes us shame talking about sex in general. It SHOULDNT be awkward or necessarily make us blush. Shouldn’t be so taboo.

As someone who has been sexually assaulted, I really appreciate you guys taking the time to talk about that specifically around the mid-way point in the video. I feel like so many people forget that sometimes bad/dangerous/abusive sexual experiences happen out of the victim’s control and therefore they cannot control the relationship or experience they have had and continue to have with the topic of sex.

I’ve been going through the same thing since becoming a Christian. I was raised in a religious household but not a Godly household. My sisters now have nothing to do with God and one actively says he’s not real. A real God thing happened after continuously praying and a patient I was taking care of started opening up to me that she is going through the same thing. My only advice to her was that she needs to keep praying for them but accept that they have to come to the realization on their own and be overall at peace. One of God’s many gifts to us is the gift of peace. Even when we don’t like a situation and wish for change, God is there and sees us right where we are and gives us the ultimate comfort and peace.

I cried watching this. This is an uncomfortable topic but something that really needs to be talked about. I have sexual trauma and still carry the fact that its my fault and that I'm unsure and it means so much with you standing against that and that I'm saved by the blood of Christ.

One analogy I heard was imagine you are on a cliff path, you cling to the wall to keep as far away from the edge as possible. That's how it should be in dating you stay so far away from sexual interactions that it doesn't even become an issue for you both. You don't walk up to the edge to try it, you stay as far away from it as you can. Too far is tempting each other, touching each other in a way that could cause arousal, being left alone staying over at each others houses, kissing in a way that causing a sexual reaction
Yeah, if you flirt with temptation, more than likely you will succumb to it. Speaking from experience. If you question an action, thats probably a sign you shouldnt do it.
Thank you for talking about this! I was raised in a cult and was s/a when I was 4 yrs old, blamed for it, and beaten by my dad with a leather strap for it. I learned about sex from my friends and never had a conversation about it with my mom. I got married in the cult and had 4 kids in 6 yrs ,my son was s/a and my mom tried to get me to beat him for it, he was a preschooler 🤦♀️and the person who abused him was also doing it to other kids and my mom was trying to cover it up. We left the cult ,moved 2000 miles and I have gone no contactwith my parents, although I try to contact my siblings, most don't dare to cross my mom by talking to me while I'm no contact with her. Jesus has brought me so far, and I am determined to break generational curses, I have explained to my 7 yr old where babies come from, and it was the best day of my life. He was like, " Jesus has the best ideas." I have so much learning and healing to do in this area. Keep on sharing!

I love this video so much because my fiancé and I had a baby when we were young at 18 and it was such a blessing to have her. She is my best friend but now we are getting married on March 11 and we have been waiting for marriage because why continue to sin. Our relationship has grown so much since finding Jesus back in November 2022!

Jesus can take the rose, and restore it, and make it even more beautiful than it was before because Jesus restores us. The analogy was good in the sense of what it does to you. However, we can become new again by submission to Jesus, and He will restore us if we become fully committed to Him allowing Him to renew us.
To the woman who was caught in adultery, and brought before Jesus by the pharisees, Jesus forgave her and told he to sin no more. Likewise, those who have slept around should repent and sin no more as Jesus commanded.

This is such an important topic. In my opinion this video was not balanced. It included: sex is good, sex is physical, emotional, and spiritual, God is forgiving, God values us, abuse can happen, and purity culture is harmful. I completely agree with all of those ideas. My concern is the things not mentioned: sexual immorality is sin and needs to be repented biblically before God can forgive us. Purity culture happened 30 yrs ago and we are still apologizing for it. The pendulum has swung the other way and now Christians are scared to say sex outside marriage is sin. Sexual immorality is the only sin that we sin against God AND ourselves (our own bodies). It is quite unique. I think sometimes people use “all have fallen short” to make them feel less of their sin but God is actually saying this to show how sinful man is. I do believe sexual sin also includes the sin of unbelief. It is a lack of trust. When we sin, sorrow is the appropriate response. Not worldly sorrow that I am bad, I have no value but godly sorrow , what can I do to make it right. And lastly, there was no mention of porn (watching sex). Which I know could be its own show. Just some of things I thought was missing.
But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Sadie, I wish so badly that I had this video sharing biblical truths when I was hurt and shamed by the church as a Christian in college surrounded by purity culture. It has skewed my view of God, of myself, and of sex and left lingering shame and a lack of relationship with God. Hearing you and your mom share these truths while being thoughtful and inclusive of many people’s traumas has brought a new wave of healing.
It's tough because sin, by the nature of it, brings shame. Shame was the first consequence of sin in Genesis 3. I don't think this is at all avoidable. Where the church is lacking, I think, is in pointing toward the glory of His design and promoting a culture of grace...that there is grace to cover all of our shortcomings. I think going for this fantasy where there is no shame or guilt is Tower of Babel stuff. The shame will come... it's a matter of how quickly we can move into guilt, repentance and freedom from sin.
This podcast is so humbling, I was abused as a teen and was hurt in the past and it created a cycle this talk is really humbling and I I needed to hear some of these words.

I had a REALLY messed up view of sex, because I learned about sex at the age of 6 or 7 by watching porn videos.
Then I didn't get ANY good teaching about sex until I read the Bible at the age of 25.
I'm praying for the youth to get this type of good teaching about sex at a much younger age than I did.
God, please bless this video and get it out to millions of people who need to know the truth about what sex is all about.
I find this conversation hard to have these days. We have to warn our kids about their bodies, and what's appropriate and not appropriate, that if any one ever says "don't tell your mom" that's a indication they need to. Good touching bad touching their private areas etc for the data we receive on sexual abuse and molestation and then we have to tell them about appropriateness with their bodies when they are adults/married.

Interesting you discussed “the rose” analogy since I recently heard it as a cake analogy. How this teacher brought 12 cupcakes to class and asked the class who would want the cupcake untouched and everyone raised their hand, the teacher takes a bite of the cupcake and asks again who wants it now, some kids being silly still raised their hands, the teacher then pours dirt all over and asks one last time now who wants the cupcake and no one raises their hand. I thought it was a very brutal way of talking about Chasity. But I loved how you said Jesus would still want this rose. In essence we’ve all sinned, made mistakes, but I believe it’s what you do next to redeem yourself and ask forgiveness.
These object lessons in my opinion do far more harm than good. Fact of the matter is that of the generation that was subjected to abstinence education less than 12 % abstained from premarital sex and those stats could apply to individuals who couldn’t get any anyway. The fact is that there is a near zero chance that you will find a person post 30 who has not had multiple sexual partners Christian or not. We were not designed to marry pushing middle age.

as a Christian wrestling with asexuality and confusion about whether or not God wants romance for me, it helps to go back to the text and remember what God says about romance and marriage and sex. I have an opposite kind of insecurity (or even shame) than many others have when it comes to this topic, but it helps me even in my circumstance to recognize the truths of the matter and define my experience accordingly. It can feel lonely sometimes to be excluded from something so universal, and it’s incredibly confusing and blurry when that thing is simultaneously everywhere and avoided. hope that makes sense. anyway all that to say thank you for talking about this and for all the resources you provide about faith
I got the talk before I started kindergarten. My parents were expecting my baby sister I wanted to know where babies come from. I gave my cousin the talk with Barbies later 😂 and when we got found out, I said “it’s ok mommy, they’re married!”

This was really nice - the only thing that concerns me is that if 'the blood of christ can cure all' then that lets men who are the demand for filmed sexual exploitation of ANY genre and trafficking off the hook (I realize that women and girls can consume porn less often, which is unfortunate, but the messages that men get in pornography - which is a reflection of their fantasies - terrify me). It's very telling that men are the source of trafficking yet they look at women who have been exploited with such distain.

Ive been carrying around shame for having meaningless relations with people (& outside of marriage) but hearing what you had to say made me feel confident in my journey to becoming pure
I think I would disagree and say that, yes, premarital sex with other people is a mistreatment of the person you end up marrying if you end up marrying. Sin is not just individualistic. But God forgives that too, and whoever you end up marrying needs to understand that God has forgiven the way you sinned against them if you have repented of it. It's not something for either person to carry once it's been repented of and forgiven.
I discovered it by Mike Fasano's initiation in 5th grade (I was in 4th) of looking up stuff on the internet. Morbid curiosity kept me latched

I just saw this topic. Please go get an exam. I was struggling with this to the point that hubs felt unwanted somewhat & it was causing wedge in our marriage. I went to the Dr. & it can be a lot of things, pcos, endometriosis polys (I had both), cervical cancer etc. God designed our bodies to perfectly become one. So if anything is that painful you’re having a medical issue that Dr. Can help you with! Our bodies are temples, we have to take care of them. Hugs!

At my church they used the analogy of velcro for having more than one sexual partner 😅 saying things like that takes away from the power of God to be able to cleanse and change people who want to do things His way regardless of their past.
I heard this too. But they glued a salt and pepper shaker together and used that analogy of what happens if you try to rip it apart. I think they were just trying to teach against divorce but.....kind of dumb analogy

I thankfully have been open and honest with age appropriate conversations about sex and the body as my children have grown up. I built that open conversation and platform for my children to be comfortable to come to me about any quetions and have an open conversation. I want them to have the education and responsibility of sex. My parents never talked to me about anything about puberty, period, or sex. I learned that through sex ed and responsibility of contraceptives and personal responsibility. Religion never was part of anything about it. Sometimes the conversations with teenagers is difficult and can be uncomfortable for them. It is about information and being open and honest. This was a great video to share with my teenagers.
Amazing what the church says about sex. I never get sick of that view. God always blesses those who want to wait for their husband, no matter what happens with their mistakes in Bible reading. Such a cool video to represent that. Very important. Awesome and so worth it. Amen to this happily :)

I want to encourage anyone who is struggling with sexual sin. I had premarital sex with multiple partners before I turned my life over to the Lord. I knew that God commands us not to engage in sexual immorality so I knew that I was not going to engage in that until I was married to my husband. Don’t think that because you’ve already sinned in that way that it doesn’t matter if you keep doing it. If I had continued with that mind set I would not have the husband that God gave to me. We met after we were both born again and we were committed to following all of God’s commands for our lives. Because of that we have the most beautiful relationship and it is the greatest gift of my life. I truly believe that if I had not changed my lifestyle, I would not have my husband and family today. So I really hope this encourages anyone who is struggling with this. God will bless you if you keep His commands!
Your reference of Ephesians again does not say that sex before marriage is a sin. You are assuming much and putting extra words into the Bible. It doesn't say you have to be married in a ceremony in order to be one. You talk as if sex is dirty outside of marriage, in a loving committed relationship. That is not the truth. You are adding things to the Bible. I had always believed this as well, but upon further study, it is not clear at all. This is just assumed in the Christian world.

Sex should not be anyone's top priority. The sexual revolution was about not seeing sex as indecent; it was never about the correct occasions to engage in sex. There are plenty of videos on RUclips advocating adultery. Sex is not solely the issue in these situations. Married people of both genders feel betrayed by a partner's affair.

What version of the bible are you reading? I remember the bible as being very hard to read and confusing. I think im reading the wrong one and i need to get your version………HELP!
You might have been reading the KJ version of the Bible, which is kind of hard to understand, but I ready the ESV and I love it and find it easier to understand! ❤️

I’m 30 and I’m still pure.
All I learned about sex is that it is something you never do because it brings shame to your family and makes you a whore then I was SA’d and shamed and beaten down by other Christians and still 10 years later I struggle everyday with the pain and Shame and have pulled so far from the church and people. I’ve tried to give it to God but I don’t know how..
Isn’t it so beautiful and powerful that in many cases, God brings life (pregnancy) from death (sin, in this case sex outside of marriage). It’s kind of like God was like, “naw, hold your roll, Satan, take that” Like he is SO good and so mighty that he takes what brings spiritual death and from it brings forth life.
Highly recommend the book Making Sex Great Again by Sheila Gregoir! I recommend it to all married and soon to be married people. Even singles. Flipping the switch on the lies the church has made up about all things sex.

It is so important to speak the truth of asking for forgiveness, repenting, and being washed by God so that we are as pure as fresh, sparkling, white snow. When I was young I thought that I wasn’t being a “good enough “ Christian because I couldn’t stop doing things I was doing. As an adult I knew He forgave me every time I asked, but I still didn’t recognize that I was fully covered by His blood when I would sin time and time again. Now that I have seen the truth after being confused for decades, I am walking a much better path with the Lord. I am not sinning as often or giving into temptation as often. Mine was to do with alcohol consumption. But now that I live like I am free - because I am- it is somehow easier to make the right choices He wants me to choose.
