Of course one doesn't use fabric scissors on anything but fabric.
I have a friend who got so fed up with her family ruining her fabric scissors, despite them being labeled, that she actually put a padlock on the new one she got. 😅

You aren't the only one! Fabric scissors for fabric, paper scissors for paper and crappy old scissors for plastic. Your mother raised you right. My home EC teacher would freak out if she caught you using the wrong scissors.

this is giving me MAOR Labyrinth vibes and I am HERE for it! I will say the one tip I got from Martha Stuart is to keep a bowl of ice water next to you when you hot glue. That way when you burn yourself and get hot glue on yourself, you can instantly freeze it off. It's saved my butt more than once

I have to be totally honest - during my cameo, I was absolutely NOT expecting the camera reaction, which is why I had to pause my video blaring in my headphones. And more importantly, y'all -
She HAD NOT EVEN STARTED the skirt when I had left for work a few hours before, so the sheer amount of gluing and work she put into it in a VERY short time period was SERIOUSLY IMPRESSIVE!!!!!
Seeing how much effort she put into the VERY limited time to make all of this was stressing her out, because she wanted it to be perfect! And I could not be more proud of how perfectly this video turned out!!!! I hope everyone loves it and laughed as much as I did!! 😍🥰😍🥰😍

As someone who works regularly with tape and wax candy wrappers, you can sew them. The problem is you only have 2 tries max, as the holes don't repair themselves. Then you back it with tape. I like clear packing tape to reinforce. I've used hot glue too, and it does work. I have never made garments that way though, so that was amazing.

Machine sew the paper together. I sew through paper when I paper foundation piecing. Make your stitches wide so the paper will not come apart as easily. Or, use white DUCK Tape (which has been used by High School Marching Bands to hold many things together). At a party we made wedding dresses out of toilet paper. The models could not move in them (without tearing them). You did well with what you had to work with. Bravo! Merry Christmas.

    05:23
    Me: And wait for it....
Not the thing you need to be concerned about... Sticker printers get pretty hot inside.
Scared my cat with the sound of: Been there, done that - laughter when the hot glue peels right off the side meant for peeling stickers off.
And yes I've done that. Because apparently 3+ pairs of non-sewing scissors per room is an inadequate number for my adhd brain to be able to locate some when I want them.

I got Simpliciy S9702 version A opened up today. Because I had abdominal surgery and my waist varies 6 inches or so from one hour to the next... and I fell off a roof and can't pull stuff over my head or back zip... I will add a front zipper and drop it to the floor. My goodness I think it will work. I never had a swirl dress. Problem, what appears to be a deep V collar is lace aaaaaarrrrrghhhhhh.

This was a wonderful Christmas treat to wake up to this morning. Thank you so much and I hope you and yours have a magnificent holiday. Your sarcasm and wit has got me through some pretty touch moments this year and if it wasn’t for you I would neither have heard of the screaming goat meme let alone now have one of my own. This tiny piece of joy - the best £8 I ever spent - is not only useful for appropriate moments, but that cats HATE the noise so it’s INSTANT stopping fighting. So I’m grateful for you - and yes I know it’s not Thanksgiving.

23:22 I love to see you put so much effort into using those label paperbacks, the skirt is gorgeous! I think I would have tucked the top in to the skirt, to secure the back and make it a bit more fitted, as an illusion of course. I actually didn't realise it was a drop waist until you mentioned it! Honestly would have made it out of aluminium and trashbags if I had a go haha, that paper is surprisingly stiff!

I sew my plastic and paper collage elements down quite often. Next time try sewing the rolls on your machine. You can zip along faster than gluing. You could still just glue the final elements down as to demonstrate the glue for the sponsor. I think you should be proud of what you created. You used unwanted items that you already had on hand! You had the harder job of making a dress out of what you already had instead of going out and finding trash to fit into what you had already planned. Kudos to you!

I want you to know that your terrifically wonderful humour and absolutely truthful and honestly splendid body image thrill me to pieces. I would like to thank you again and again for the laughs and freedom that you bring into my life. And the Barbie dress? My husband worked with a lady who started a group with her friends that is called Haute Trash. They make outfits out of things found in the garbage

there was no way I was not gonna leave a comment after watching this LOLOLOL. I had a similar Barbie from the 90's she had a huge poofy dress that was all red and glittery circa holiday barbie 1990-94. This turned out awesome! I have a surebonder and that thing gets HOTTER THAN HELL.... if you want to sew in chaos just add hot glue LOL like I did when the fusible web I used on my felt circle skirt failed..DOH.
