I was able to progress to single legged front lever pregression thru ur prev videos!! YAY thx for the proper detail for progressions, i couldnt find a detailed vid anywhere else that help.
Osvaldo Lugones's videos on front lever are also really good. You can check them out. ruclips.net/video/X3cBwpEjaHs/видео.html , ruclips.net/video/vXef4preKY4/видео.html
Wow! That part of squeezing your glutes, but more importantly the position where you can and can't squeeze them. I never thought of that nor has anyone else mentioned that part. Great video.
Hey Ashton, thank you for the video, really informative. I'm planning to buy a bar like the one you're using in the video. Do you have any recommendations for me? Or things I should look for when buying one? Again, thank you for your videos. I've learned to do the bent arm planche because of you 💪🏻
That's awesome progress man, very glad my videos helped 😁. They're called parallel bars - if you type in something like "buy parallel bars" on Google you'll find a bunch. They tend to range between £30-£80. You can find a decent pair in this price range. I recommend getting a pair that's lightweight (so you can carry them to places if you need to) and has a sturdy base. I'd avoid ones with padding on if you can, but it's not the end of the world if a pair you like has padding because you can most likely cut it off (that's what I did with the parallel bars in this video) I've had two parallel bars, the ones in this video and a pair from Gravity Fitness. I don't recommend the Gravity Fitness ones because they're too bulky, heavy, and overpriced. You can get cheaper and lighter weight ones elsewhere. I got the ones in the video from a retailer called Decathlon, but they don't seem to sell them anymore on their UK website. I did, however, find the same pair on Decathlon's Indian website: www.decathlon.in/p/8379822/heavy-products/100-dip-bar-training-station?id=8379822&type=p Hope this helps 💪🏼
Great video thank you this helped a ton I was trying to just jump into the full front lever and all I was able to hold it for was 2 seconds so the progress really opened it up for me and now I feel like I understand how to get to the full front lever better
Excellent video!! I have very long legs compared to my torso, which makes the FL extremely hard to do for me Whats you experience with taller people @Asthon?
I've seen many tall people get the front lever in real life and on the internet. Two of the athletes in this video, Manimal Zyk and Dominik Sky are 6ft. Dominik weighed 89kg at the time of filming that video (which is really heavy for calisthenics). So, it definitely is possible. Just put in the consistent training and you can get it 💪🏼
Man can you help me pls I do front lever in pull up bar and when I hold it everything is activated abs ,back ect But whatever I do my glutes won't squeeze when I hold it like wtf Ps I do 55 kg pull ups for 4 reps
It depends which front lever variation you're holding. It doesn't work for the tuck and advanced tuck front lever. However, it works for the one leg, advanced one leg, straddle, and full front lever. You can practice by laying on a bed or the edge of a chair (just be careful if you do it on a chair - don't fall off lool). Place yourself in the front lever position (or whatever front lever progression you're currently on) and then try to squeeze your glute(s). Once you can do it on a bed or chair, you can try to do it on the bar. You might find it easier once you've established the mind-muscle connection with your glutes on the bed or chair. Hope this helps!
I’m curious is human flag easier than front lever ? My friend can do the front lever but can’t human flag and I could human flag but can’t front lever . I’m at advance tuck front lever now from tuck to advance took me 3 months
It depends on the person. Some people might find the human flag easier and some people might find it harder. I personally found the human flag easier to learn than the front lever, but that's because I had built a really good foundation of strength before I started to learn it. It's like the planche and front lever. Some people find the planche easier and others find the front lever easier. What you find easier will depend on loads of factors, for example your: - Current level of ability - Genetics (i.e. arm length, natural levels of strength, body composition etc.) - Natural strength inclination (some people find pushing exercises easier than pulling ones and vice versa) - Training style (some people might train more pulling movements because they prefer them over pushing movements, which would give them an advantage when learning exercises that rely on pulling strength like the front lever) As you can see, there are many variables that determine a person's ability to learn a skill. The bottom line is that you can learn just about any calisthenics exercise and/or skill if you practise it enough. Good luck!

Yeah!! I won't give up! I already have a back lever in the books, and currently on tuck front lever 🙂
You can definitely squeeze the glutes in adv tuck.
I do mucel up and pull up and dragon flag does this make me unlock the front lever?

you need to lock your elbow
I'm recovering from a shoulder injury so I can't always do that. When I'm 100% better I'll work on it
You arms are not straight. They have to be straight for a clean front lever
Had two shoulder injuries that lasted for 6 years, so straightening my arms is difficult because it aggravates them. But I'm working on it 💪🏽
@@AshtonFitness Ohh, than it is very impressive! Work on yourself and don't stop bro
