What a brilliant experience sending my CLK55 to SPR Autos. Sam is a straight talking man, who just does what he says!! Any issues, email or phone call. She (the CLK55) is neally back in my hands after all this essential work to bring her back to the road. Big smiles on my face. A bit of bodywork when i get her home and she will be as close to a brand new 21 year old CLK55!! As you can get!!!!! What a brilliant experience sending my CLK55 to SPR Autos. My CLK55, 100,000 views in a short time. Brilliant!! Well done SPR autos. Ive done about 600 miles since and she is a pleasure to drive. She has been driven by another RUclipsr since, the very interesting episode will be out soon, i will let you know when its on. Thanks again Sam and Co.
Amazing proper mechanics.... Just casually saves his customer over a grand by putting the effort in.... Top guy. Love watching this kind of stuff, keep them coming 👍
Great to see proper mechanics at work trying to save the customer money by repairing rather than replacing parts (fuel pump) keep up the good work lads👍
You guys are amazing. Fighting the customer’s cause - cost effectiveness and value. Would be good if your business and moral ethics are replicated everywhere. Hoping you to have a thriving business.
Great to see Brits B/T/B and for younger generations it’s Back To Basics trace and fix make do and mend good mechanics and engineering and common sense think I’m going to like this channel refreshing change from throw away society ✊respect 🇬🇧🏴✊👍👍
Glad I found this channel, I have a 2003 CLK 55 AMG (here in USA) I got for $4,000 in great shape; best money I ever spent! The M113 is quite reliable, easy to work on, and puts a smile on my face every time I floor it. On these cars basic preventative maintenance, a good local mechanic, and being able to do some work yourself as I did the plugs, valve covers, gasket seals, etc. are important. Great video!
I bought an ‘05 CLK55 convertible. I agree, these are brilliant cars that, for some odd reason, no one cares about. By the way, for $4000 that’s well bought. I got mine for $5500.
when you use the air hammer with the socket on bolt to free it up mine have an handle on the tool so you hammer and use the handle to turn the nut ! we call it the wood picker !
@@sprautos i found this tool for the first time when i was aircraft mechanic in my early day and always keep in my tool box since then first time seeing your channel like what i see !
Well done. Good to see you rebuild the fuel pump. I have a high mileage CLK which my wife and I love. Must book it in for a engine/transmission service and thoroughly checked over to keep it running well 👍
Really enjoyed watching this video!👍👍👍 Excellent work & attention to detail. I’m an ex-Porsche technician, used to do the same fuel pump “modification” on first generation Cayenne’s, happy days… All the best from Athens, Greece
Im thinking of my fuel pump on my boat....it was gummed up with old fuel, which had gone sticky. Wouldn't be surprised if the same thing had happened here, given that it sat for years and neither pump worked. Love the way you try and help the customer save some money. Cant imagine any main dealership entertaining that notion for a second. If i was a merc guy....and didnt live up here in Scotland...id definitely use your garage!
Great videos mate. I was a Mercedes dealer tech for some time, now have a W211 E280 and appreciate your videos and tech tips. That air hammer trick alone is gold!
At about 20:50 I was just finishing my bacon sandwich when I sneezed and you turned to the camera and said, "Bless you" ! My wife didn't find that remarkable but I did !
Recently done this fix to my 2005 CLK 3.2. The pump in the Sender unit is made by Wabco and should have a part no. on. I managed to find a new one in Lithuania for £36 including shipping. Took me about 35 minutes to swap out. So a cheap and easy fix! Car started first turn of the key!
Great work on bringing the Clk back to life after 7 years, I also like the fuel pump rebuild it shows you know your stuff, only a top Mercedes mechanic would know how to get a round that issue. Your very methodical and have a genuine passion in your your work.
Yep there are fitters and mechanical engineers, engineers repair and fitters fit parts, never be known or called a fitter. What is a motor vehicle technician then? You know MB’s inside out, I’ll make the trip to Stockport if I’m ever in the shit… vlogs are good marketing! Keep them coming and have a smile once in a while 😂 Great to see young apprentices too
I had a 2003 clk 240. It did 300.00 miles. Still was running sold it in Spain what a car never cost me anything only service charges and tyres and a exsaust
You mastered this! :D My fuel filter(Mahle), MAF Sensor and Tube(Bosch), the two seals that go to Intake Air Box and Intake Manifold, and my "Dipstick" just came in today and I can't wait to see how she does without the p0172 and p0175(Bank 1 and 2 too rich) codes finally! Living in the middle of nowhere makes getting parts a bit of a waiting game but this car deserves the much needed attention after being repo'd and passed off from dealer to auction house to dealer to dealer and someone has not been kind to her... turns out, the headlight washer pump caught fire at some point because the cover is missing and water/dirt/grime got all over it and the random car dealer/or auction house must've just put the fire out and left it. It melted the whole reservoir and wires although shockingly, the windshield washer fluid pump that sits right beside the headlight washer pump is weak and was overheated it looks like but still works! That's the worst of this incredible machine mechanically though! For 181k MILES, this 2005 CLK 55 AMG Avantgarde still drives like new and doesn't miss a beat. I'm actually having trouble finding a more perfect car for the someone who lives alone or doesn't need the extra seating/weight. Reliable, Dependable, Durable, Fast, Looks great, Handles great, Luxurious, Comfortable, etc, you could go on and on... It's a shame how rare these are, I recommend you get yours now while they are still cheap. These CLK AMG's are going to skyrocket in value eventually, they have everything one could ask for. It's like a bigger, more luxurious Miata with a V8 and a back seat!
You came up as a suggestion on my RUclips as I’ve just bought a cl63 6.2. Can’t believe a mechanic like you is about in 2024 mate, top lad. You’re a little drive from me but I’ll be visiting you sooner or later if I need any specialist jobs or even a service. Sick content
Great video - From experience, and I dont have a snap on Jack/h, with difficult bolts - heat first and then TIGHTEN [tiny bit] and THEN try slackening. Worked great on my 1982 911SC heat exchangers. Had never been off in 35 years.
got an 221 s500 4matic at home country that has been sitting for 13 (yes thirteen) years and has about 20k miles. I went this summer did not even try to crank it I knew not only fuel pump shot but the petrol turned into some sort of gel. And the wiring between them was all frayed as well :) fun times. All fuel system was pretty much shot but after sorting that, manual turn, oil and all fluids changed it's back on road to mechanics for suspension and perished rubbers.
Great to see you developing the young'un and great to see an independent like yourself producing high-quality work. You are probably worth the cash. Really informative and great slow video.
Found you guys watching Highpeak’s channel. I live in Essex, wish I lived closer to you, would have use you to work on my current CLK. Very impressed with your work…
Great video and very interesting. The old adage 'use it or lose it' is very true here. I was very surprised to see the amount of rust in the under body area. Makes you wonder whether the car was stored outside or under cover?
If I ever own a Merc, I'm definitely coming paying you guys a visit as I'm in in bolton and I think u lads are Stockport based, awesome channel and content keep it up lads 👌👍💪
Loved my CLK, miss it every day. Some of the Merc OEM parts prices are ridiculous, great to see a cost efdective solution for this, this is proper mechanics, just not glorified swap outs.
I love this. I bought an ‘05 CLK55 convertible for 5500 USD that had some oil leaks and needed a rod replaced for the convertible top. I love the car. I think the CLK55 is such an underrated AMG.

AS a CLK 55 owner and fan I found your video really interesting and informative, well done. Certainly makes people wish to contact you to deal with their car as you seem to know what you are talking about.
I did a complete gearbox flush on my C32AMG. Removed the bottom hose to the cooler and ran the engine at idle until the fluid changed colour, constantly topping up at the top tube. Used over 11 litres of tranny fluid to do this. This flushes out the torque converter as well. Cheers.

The true mechanic, fixing things instead of replacing them, no wonder Matt uses you. 👍 Great work. Thanks for the videos
Thanks 👍
I agree with phil :)
20 year old Mercedes, replacing is better
Any idea with w202 petrol tank units..? Will these pumps fit ??
5:09 This is awesome. Actual mechanic work, fixing and altering things instead of just swapping components for new ones.
You´re doing the Lords work, my brother. A true car Jedi, the force is strong with you.
Amazing proper mechanics.... Just casually saves his customer over a grand by putting the effort in.... Top guy. Love watching this kind of stuff, keep them coming 👍
Thanks 👍 plenty more to come
The young man working with such a professional as yourself is so lucky
Love the no nonsense videos, straight to the point without the silly mumbo jumbo drama to gain shallow subscribers. Just like High Peak Autos!
What a cracking mechanic. Identifies the problem, fixes the broken parts at minimal cost and waste - proper knowledge 👍
A methodical approach...something you will not find at your local MB dealer...Welldone
Very true
Mechanic in my local MB Dealer diddn't even now how to properly change Gearbox Fluid.
Mercedes certainly wouldn’t have done that with the fuel pump. Good on you!
This guy needs 1mil subscribers. Awesome work mate!
Wow 1mil! That would be 👌👌👌👌

Great job using the old noddle to replace pumps AND your experience BRILLIANT
That hub cleaner and air hammer trick were great
I wish there were more mechanics with the initiative you have Matt. What a standard.
Great video, when it comes to speaking on camera, you’re a natural, I hope the channel goes from strength to strength.
I am well out of my comfort zone. So I appreciate that! Thank you 🙏

When the jobs done right saves on the come backs and your confident enough to stand over it.
In the dashboard, there is a paper map of the fuses. Driver's side, little side panel that closes next to door.
Certainly is. Great info for viewers 🙌👌 thank you.
It's encouraging/inspiring to see your level of workmanship and how much you care in doing a job well done

thanks mike, fellow M B tech, all the best.
Another excellent video, very interesting and informative.
Great cars, I sold my M113 engined 211 a few days ago and literally could have cried seeing it drive off
Great car, superb video. Don't think you would get Mercedes Benz trying to save their customers £1000+Vat. Well done
No, a Merc mechanic would probably get sacked for doing that..
Great to see the young lads learning from your experience. Enjoyed the tips and tricks, and the smiles👍
Great to see a mechanic who actually gives a f=÷k. Cares about the customer and carries out the work with professionalism and diligence.
Your pleasure when it started put a right grin on my face! 🙂👍
It's a pleasure to see you work. You,re a nice honest lad so thankyou
