Hope everyone enjoys this style of video we’re trying out, hoping it will appeal to more of you covering different job on different cars but yes it’s less in depth. Be great to hear your feedback in the comments below. 👇 Like and subscribe. All the best everyone. 🙏
Down to earth as it is. People should understand that if you own a Mercedes you have to service this properly, as with any other car! Great footage of some of the issues - coffee milk shake transmission oil😂
Keep it raw like this, please. Good to see honest 'straightforward' work being done. Unfortunately many people what the image of MB but won't pay the sometimes premium prices needed.
I wish you looked after BMWs Sam I would travel to you in a heart beat , it’s so hard to find a genuine business that has the knowledge care and one I could trust ! My 2008 1 owner 535d m sport is my pride and joy keep the videos coming it’s brilliant 😉👍🏻
I am Italian (from Torino). I have been a Mercedes-AMG customer for many years. I would do anything to have here a Mercedes workshop like yours! I am very envious of your customers. I always follow you with great attention and interest. My compliments.
You remind me of the guy here in the U.S. who services my 2016 E 400. He is not shy to tell me what the car needs and what it will cost. The work is always done right and he always shows me the parts he has removed. He has earned my trust and respect. I keep the car up to date on its service and avoid unforeseen problems. If I ever move to the UK, I will look you up and will beg you to take me on as a customer. 😎
I really like this format, especially the CCTV 😂 I think people like to see things play out over time, how the team grows and develops and getting to know the personalities. Would love to hear about declined jobs too 👍
Great video content Sam, can't believe how many customers expect you to diagnose a problem and then take it elsewhere to get it fixed. Keep up these great videos.
Hi all, I'm new to this RUclips page.I must say for me and my preferences I find this the best of many auto videos to follow. Normal easy to understand explanations the only downside to myself is that I don't think even if I could afford it buy a Mercedes with the cost of serving parts and delays I would not but 10 out 10 for videos.
This is a really good video explaining some of the problems we suffer as independents. Although I’m not a specialist in any brand, I get plenty of crap jobs others don’t want, and then the customer goes back to their original garage for services, brakes etc. Very frustrating. I’d be interested to see the jobs that you do decline. I’m declining more as each year goes by……..
10 out of 10 for the vids ,please keep it going ,both for us as viewers ,& for to EDUCATE MERCEDES OWNERS & YOUR CUSTOMERS THAT ITS NOT LIKE GOING TO THE BARBERS ,😂😂 = SHORT CUTS , WITH YOUR ENTERPRISING BUSINES & PROFFESIONAL STANDARDS AT A VERY HIGH LEVEL ,IT CLEARLY SHOWS IN YOUR VIDS ,YEP YEP KEEP IT GOING FOR US ,MUCH OBLIGED ,FROM 🇮🇪 IRELAND,,🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Brilliant comment, we will keep it going. I say that all the time to the lady that runs the garage. “I’m sure they think it’s like going for a haircut or McDonald’s drive through” 😂 Enjoy 🍻
although i am a Audi owner i love following your channel, as a retired audi main dealer tech , liking very much your approach to giving a professional customer service.
Really enjoyed it. Keep doing these videos especially the bits where things don't go as planned. Also the customer refused jobs would be very interesting🤝🏻
Great video, interesting to see a variety of jobs that come in to the garage. One thing that really surprised me was how long the ‘overdue service’ was - unless the car’s been off the road for a long time, maybe. Good to see that you try to save customers money where you can!
Yeh Sam, interesting video. We definitely need to see more of Paula, especially if she's doing comedy routines!! I can understand the temptation to decline work. I took my CLK to my specialist for an A service and a gearbox mount, and they recommended replacing the front and rear tailshaft couplings, at $1,050 (Aussie). I went ahead and had a total bill of $1,850 which kind of stings when I only paid $10,000 for the car. It is generally an inexpensive car to run, but Mercedes certainly do know how to charge for some parts.
WOW, respect to you all!! That's a lot of different situations to handle, to know what to look out for on so many Mercedes is a gift. Congrats on Episode 1! Really dig the new format :D
Great video! Interesting to see the delayed maintenance on some of these beautiful vehicles...they are so expensive when new, then depreciate like hell... so there we go. You are doing a great job here, innovative thinking, not every fix needs to be super expensive when being a bit creative.
Good insight again. Same old story though. Just because someone buys a cheapish secondhand “expensive when new” car doesn’t mean it’s going to be cheap to run. Should still expect to pay for maintenance and preventative maintenance. I bet the A45’s are becoming a classic, run it in a shoe string car. We had the same with the M135i’s
The W203 is such a sweet spot in the Mercedes line up. If you can get one with service history and rust free they'll serve you better than the newer models.
Funnily enough our W176 A Class spat its dummy out today on the M1 and my Mrs managed to get it to MB Chesterfield where they diagnosed a faulty NSR wheel speed sensor. Thankfully MB have covered it despite being out of warranty on both age and miles, however as soon as the service lady told what it was i said "backorder" and she just nodded. Luckily they've got one at their Sheffield branch. Bit of a faff as we're up in Saddleworth and cars in Chesterfield but at least we don't have to pay anything. You guys serviced it last month and its running sweet as a nut 🙂
Worked on Mercs way back in the 70s (old fart now) and i found the older mercs, very easy to work on for servicing, expensive to fix for engine and gearbox work... relative to the times.... but always have loved the Mercs. Love your dedication to looking after the newer style Mercs. You guys are the dogs doodah deffo.
So sad with most manufacturers today that serviceable items are on back order. Back in my day stock control manager would be sacked. Very basic for manufacturers to check delivery date against stock movement and make sure stock requirement covers the time for delivery of replacement stock. Looks to me that customer care is not considered by so many. I wish I lived closed to your company as you offer a good caring service with top knowledge. All the best.
Agree about back order! I’m waiting for an offside boot lid seal replacement. Nearside was done 6 months ago, but offside on back order. Car’s due in in a month or so - hopefully can get one by then!
@@seanpaul3050 I didn’t know that! That might explain it. We’ll wait and see… they haven’t got back to me yet and said “sorry can’t get one”, so living in hope 😂. Maybe I’ll just get out my tube of black silicone sealer!!
@@Orwic1 I was just joking. Although I know a lot of wiring looms were made in Ukraine and manufacturers had to switch to other countries which caused huge delays. I guess this must have affected some other parts too.
@@seanpaul3050 😂 Oh well, hopefully rubber boot seals are now back in circulation - it’s a bit of an obscure part. ‘Back in the day’ (as they say) maybe every last little component would have been made in the country of origin. A lot more diversification in manufacturing now - cost saving, I guess.
Just shows you how important regular maintenance is and how complicated these MB cars are. SPR seems extremely reputable, reliable and believe in good customer relations.
Loving this style Sam, so informative. We get supply issues like yours across the manufacturer spectrum. So frustrating and time consuming for us. Great to watch the channel grow from strength to strength. Top Job!
The format you're trying out works really well, to my mind. If you have a particularly problematic car that might well merit a full report, but a week in the workshop keeps the interest in the channel. Keep 'em coming, whatever!
Whilst I’ve not had a Merc for the best part of 10 years - last one was an E55AMG - I still enjoy keeping up with your channel and this format is very interesting. Keep it up!
Just found your channel and looks like I've got a lot of good videos to catch up on. As a fellow S210 E55 owner, it's good to see one here. Mine is just over 143,000 miles, and going strong. Cheers.
I am a new suscriber to your channel, and I look forward to your videos as it describes all the issues you work on with various mercedes. I have a 2006 slk 280 and a 2016 w w205 c180. Keep up the great work!
Love this channel so informative. There’s nothing you don’t know about the Mercedes Benz brand I’d go as far to say you give a better service than the main dealer. Ones things for sure you’ll never be out of work 👍
Be great to have a Museum of Horrors edition- clearly without showing any identification of the vehicles. You must see some real shockers! On the other hand- how about a Concur edition of some of the really well kept/ageing beautifully Mercs you occasionally get in for service/repair.
I believe the oil doesn't come out the gearbox because of the converter holds the oil about a liter if you pressurize where the dipstick tube is make a friction fit with an oil ring should force the oil out
OMG, thanks for your video. There is no way i'd buy a Benz given poor reliability and parts availability. I've recently had high end Japanese performance cars (including a Mazda Rx8) that they are no where problematic. I had a C280 for short term and I'm so happy i didn't get stuck with it. Guess M-Benz dramas means you have a good business. I admire M-Benz design but not their durability.
I've been watching your channel for some months now, by way of HPA and I admire your honesty. But I'm glad I've had a variety unreliable Alfas and FIATs for the last 35 years instead of these hewn from solid Mercedes'.
Great video. Needed some coil packs for my M157 a few years back. Couldn’t get them without a huge wait so ended up getting some after market ones. Only needed 2 but got 8 so have some spares if ever needed again.
