Great video! I was really confused about this but you explained it very well easy to understand. Thank you very much👍🏽 ready to look for some new rims
Good video Jeff - I always get dizzy on this topic and appreciated you putting this together. I hope you get to feeling better sir!
that’s was a great easy and fast explanation tbh
Great demonstration 💪

Glad to see you are doing well, if you need any help or anything hit me up. Just a couple minute drive up the road from you.
Thanks for making this excellent video.
I can't see how converting to metric simplifies this process in the US. Best of luck with your recovery Jeff.
Because fractions are stupid..
Thanks for the vid. What exactly is, "Inset?" The Subi Service manual for 2022 WRX says the wheel "Inset" is 55mm.
Best explanation
Get well soon
so if I order a new set of wheels you either work with offset or backspace but not both right. if a rim manufacture asks you for back space then you give them a backspace number. If they ask you for offset you give them the desired offset. I guess im asking will a wheel manufacture ask you for both backspacing or offset because its kind of the same thing.
EXCELLENT . . . . Stay Frosty All
Thank you bud I wish you are doing well
Thanks for explaining
My stock wheels are ET39.
I'm looking at different alloys which match the rim size and PCD, but have an offset of ET45.
Would this be ok and safe to fit?
I dont know what et39 is
This was helpful
Thank you for the vidoe.
So, sorry I'm old what's the point. I have 12 inch rims with 7 inches of back spacing that leaves 5 inches to outside. Isn't all the same or my dumbass missing the point? I'm glad your getting better!
Most wheel manufacturers today use offset instead of backspacing in their catalogs
@@HighPSItv . Got you I'm still using weld wheels and centerline's and stuff like that. Good info trying to teach an old dog new tricks. Lol. I appreciate it.
Does this affect the performance or handling of the tire
It can. By putting more load on it, or less load. Like a lever effect.
Some of us "truck guys" have a simpler way to check wheel offset. We use $100 bills layed long ways across the lip. To some, your lip must be at least one bill across the lip or you're not legit.
Perfect
✌👍👌
Seriously!! RUclips has tons of videos explaining this ...just go rest
