@goldenstate2192 I'm from Vallejo. Nowhere in my statement did I say that it was an emergency or serious crime. You said that and basically just answered your own question. I am a big man of 58 years old and I do not see myself as fragile. I am afraid to go out at night on the street and when I was working at night I was even more afraid because people are angry, very angry and go around breaking things in the street. Just two weeks ago I saw three homeless people setting fire to their own clothes in the place where I work as volunteers. When I was crossing the street another homeless man began to set fire to some clothes in a building. It is that I see crime all the time in San Francisco. When are the politicians going to take charge of this problem? I know that they live on the street. I know that they do not have anywhere to go or where to stay, but they go around destroying wherever they put themselves on the corner. They leave a lot of trash. The truth is that I am ashamed of what is happening in my city. This has been happening for 10 years and it does not end. I hope that the new president of San Francisco cleans up this type of way of acting of these American citizens who are not respecting either the businesses or the citizens who are here living honestly and without messing with anyone or We are doing no harm to anyone, when will this end!😢😢😢
I spent 1 hour tonight cleaning a specific street in Soma (3rd time in last 7 days). There was one tweaked out homeless guy dumpster diving near a popular bar, throwing trash everwhere who then took a glass french press coffee thing out of the dumpster and purposefully dropped it on the street smashing it into a million pieces. I cleaned it up as best I could but I didn't have a broom. The small pieces of broken glass left there will break somebody's car tire. I'm happy to clean the streets of trash but we've got to get these people off the streets who are actively making the situation worse for everybody.
My bf killed himself from drug use. Trust me, I would not have minded if they had arrested him when he was alive. You can be saving lives here. Its not "just using drugs" its "USING DRUGS".
A lot of these addicts don't want to live, once you understand that then you will see why they make the decisions they do. I tried helping a former classmate of mine , one time gave her 200 and she spent it all at once . They live in the moment and don't think about tomorrow or consequences😢. Homeless advocates are the problem. Coalition on Homelessness (COH) is the main culprit, that issues "SF residency" letters for out of state vagrants, so they qualify for SSI and GA benefits. COH also provides free tents for homeless, which created the encampments problem. COH perpetuates the homeless problem, so the group can continue to receive funding to "address the problem".
