    It’s down cause if you don’t respond to calls, The crimes are never logged. When you change the definition of a crime then is not a reportable crime.

      I don't know what kind of crime they are counting but 7th st and the civic center is bare compared to last year at this time. But that's only because the police are present every night. Same with 6th st. Just last week you could see at least 100 people hanging out throughout the night. Tonight, there is a heavy police presence and hardly any drug users. We'll see what happens when the cops aren't there.

    Crime isn't down. Reporting is down. In SF and Oakland police cannot respond to all low level crimes. They don't even respond to minor car accidents and car breakins, the mayor telling residients to call their insurance companies instead of police. CRIME IS WAY UP because of proposition 47 and refusing to stop homeless from putting up tents where ever they want.

    • @Reanimator999

      Prop 36 was passed to stop the theft, but nothing has changed. We should've seen homeless cleared out from downtown by now.

    Crime is not down. My car was broken into a week ago for the first time in the 8 years I've been here. Did I report it? Hell no. Why would anyone do that? The window fix is cheaper than my deductible, and I don't have 5 extra hours to wait for police that most likely won't even come. The place I work never needed security. Yet they do now and they have to deal with craziness almost daily. It's statistic manipulation, but everyone here knows it is, so each time we hear it, it's a reminder to get rid of our politicians because we know they are just lying to us. Vote out and protest anyone saying crime is down.

      @4362mont 15 дней назад +2

      @@goldenstate2192 Breaking into cars is a real crime. It's just, as you said, NOT an emergency unless it's happening at the moment it's reported, or until someone is effectively stranded by the results (that's more like an emergency than if it's in your driveway).
      Every local law enforcement agency has a non-mergency line.

    • @zrllzr
      @zrllzr 15 дней назад +3

      @goldenstate2192 I'm from Vallejo. Nowhere in my statement did I say that it was an emergency or serious crime. You said that and basically just answered your own question. Your response doesn't effect my statement at all. Serious crime would have been if I'd have caught them. So basically you're saying that if someone steals a few hundred dollars from you, you're not gonna do anything about it? Sounds pretty cowardly to me. You wouldn't last long where I live. I'll send you an address if you wanna show me I'm soft. Soft people are the ones who let it slide coward.

    I am a big man of 58 years old and I do not see myself as fragile. I am afraid to go out at night on the street and when I was working at night I was even more afraid because people are angry, very angry and go around breaking things in the street. Just two weeks ago I saw three homeless people setting fire to their own clothes in the place where I work as volunteers. When I was crossing the street another homeless man began to set fire to some clothes in a building. It is that I see crime all the time in San Francisco. When are the politicians going to take charge of this problem? I know that they live on the street. I know that they do not have anywhere to go or where to stay, but they go around destroying wherever they put themselves on the corner. They leave a lot of trash. The truth is that I am ashamed of what is happening in my city. This has been happening for 10 years and it does not end. I hope that the new president of San Francisco cleans up this type of way of acting of these American citizens who are not respecting either the businesses or the citizens who are here living honestly and without messing with anyone or We are doing no harm to anyone, when will this end!😢😢😢

      I spent 1 hour tonight cleaning a specific street in Soma (3rd time in last 7 days). There was one tweaked out homeless guy dumpster diving near a popular bar, throwing trash everwhere who then took a glass french press coffee thing out of the dumpster and purposefully dropped it on the street smashing it into a million pieces. I cleaned it up as best I could but I didn't have a broom. The small pieces of broken glass left there will break somebody's car tire. I'm happy to clean the streets of trash but we've got to get these people off the streets who are actively making the situation worse for everybody.

      Homeless advocates are the problem. Coalition on Homelessness (COH) is the main culprit, that issues "SF residency" letters for out of state vagrants, so they qualify for SSI and GA benefits. COH also provides free tents for homeless, which created the encampments problem. COH perpetuates the homeless problem, so the group can continue to receive funding to "address the problem".

    We have to remember the crime was allowed to get out of hand and become critical due to the supervisors and decisions of those who run the city and state. Leniency on criminals leniency on drug use and petty crime is what all led to this mess in the first place..
    And now the same individuals who wasted our tax dollars and allowed us to be victims wanna pretend like they’re gonna clean the mess that they created in the first place.
    Let’s not forget part of the blame, goes to the voters and the population who believes that you must not punish criminals. These are the very individuals who are just as responsible for crime itself..
    But nobody wants to talk about this. You will not see the news Media go after the heads of state and cities, and then attack the portion of the general public. Who believes you should turn the other cheek and have mercy on criminals and let them all lightly.. .
