    Very nice, Erick! I love everything about this one! Since I am only on my tenth knife, I really appreciate you showing the grinding process. After watching your videos, I'm excited to do a forge to finish knife, in the near future! Thanks for sharing my brother! 💯😎👍🏻🔨🔥🔪

    Beautiful finish! Really beautiful. This is the template I bought from your site last week, and I can't wait to make it.

    Looks great! I was waiting for the Jeopardy theme song during the grind, but it didn’t happen. I watched that whole kukri series on NK’s channel…learned a ton. I even ordered some handle juice! Awesome build E!

    I like the non sanded look also. Anything to save me from hand sanding! 😄

    I’d just go with the jade and black liners…black or carbon pins look great with the jade.

    Some of those jade G10 and FR4/micarta's can be a little bit translucent and a white G10 liner behind them can also look pretty cool as it really helps 'brighten' the colour depth on them. Might not suit this knife but worth a look.
    Otherwise I agree, better a well done 320g finish looks better than a badly done higher grit

      I have another build that I will trying the white liners with. Thanks for the idea!

    I have to carefully go through with the hardness files and chisels. For me, even then I have to really analyze what I'm doing. I find them to be a pain in the ass and can't believe there isn't an easier, more reliable way to test hrc without paying an arm and a leg.

    Fantastic build. Any difference using peanut oil as opposed to canola oil for the quench ?

    • @theriversexperience9383
      @theriversexperience9383  5 месяцев назад +1

      Mainly the smell and viscosity once heated to 120 F. I just prefer the peanut oil for these particular 5160 blades. I use Parks 50 and AAA for everything else.

      @@theriversexperience9383 I watched a video where someone triple quenched a blade made from 5160, but I see that you do it only once after the normalisation.
