Yes, the puzzle really isn't about solving something so much as muscling it out. It's too bad cause it's a really sharp looking puzzle.

Put a screw driver or any long thin object even a wooden spoon handle and put it through the top and use a little leverage to turn it past that point. It will loosen up once you do it once or twice.
