While I love my DIY curb that's grown to around 80 feet long, but I do like the idea that as long as you've got a curb, you've got a skateable curb. And I like grinding a natural curb, and some days Its nice grinding metal. Honestly the biggest advantage of the cover imo is you'll see an out ledge that would be perfect...but it's made out of unskated brick. At the DIY we just painted the curbs, but I wish as a kid I'd thought of the rub brick and lacquer as a youngin. Idk if I've ever worked harder for money as I did for a skateable curb. I mean I remember visiting my dad on the weekends and it took an entire weekend to get this rough northeast Ohio curb to grind. Forget slides. Two weeks later it took another weekend to get it good
Yeah that matches my experience. A lot of work and maintenance, and if you stop it's not like "It's not that deep" guy and his homies are going to pick up the work. The tools are getting better (esp. if you know tradies who skate), but making insta spots with a kicker or curb cover is perfect when you're on the road/not trying to get hassled.
@@bakedbeings its not that deep bro. I so all the real work butting knobs and bondoing cracks all over the place. your talking about waxing a fucking curb lmao
I built the cheap ledge you showcased and used the same bedframe, it worked great and I learned 50-50 bs and fs. THIS will be greatness, I have a nice looking curb outside my house I've been eyeballing. Tmrw ill put this technique into use.
I love the slap stick I got from y’all. Been meaning to get a second to get the full 8 footer. Anyone saying disparaging things about Keen Ramps will undoubtedly have just as much fun on any of their obstacles. People used to pay like $200 for a 5ft flat element rail that’d get dented up after a year of use, or complain about the chunky parts of their local park, but then still complain about a skater owned business that sells high quality skate products, to fellow skateboarders. The same people that buy Nikes or Vans products too lmfao. It’s such a strange time to be alive.
There was probably some wax on your trucks from the DIY curb. I will always choose a DIY curb for feel, noise and build satisfaction, but I can appreciate the portability of the curb covers.
Take the real curb all day everyday, those covers are rip off,if they sold for reasonable price like 50$ and that's a lot then maybe id try but no way for 200$ id rather wax a curb with my own blood
i live in a super small town, i have a rub brick, clear coat and wax and have spots in mind to go mess up. BUT, im sketched out because noone in this town understands skating and would be looked at as vandalizism, Any ideas? or do i just say *&^% it?
Great idea. Perfect for when you don't want to chip and wax up "private property" Which is good for the sport's reputation... That said - "never stop jumping fences"
@@keenramps yes you are. I respect the neutrality with you guys. Being willing to make videos demonstrating with the products you manufacture and also sticking your neck out there by showing the market that you can do the same thing without buying your products sets you guys apart and makes your company unique. That’s why I keep coming back.
I prefer the lacquer/wax and a real curb since you can grind as far as you want… with this thing you gotta spend another $250 just to grind another 5 feet 😂.
Well homie, I have no doubts that you appreciate your environment and just want people to skate. You have DIY build videos on your company RUclips for fucks sake.
we just showed you how to do it so have at it, you dont gotta buy the curb cover. like we said some will enjoy it and some will prefer to put in the work to make it skateable.
WTF! Ive beenskating for over 30 years and just wonder what is wrong with you people? Use a little wax and go faster! Why is everyone complicating riding wooden toys? Never did any curb rubbing, laquer spraying caca, using tools and crap. This is just so foriegn and too much WORK when you should just skate. This is just rediculous!

Yall sold me on a brick rub and lacquer... jus by the sound alone

Free curb cover?
Nothing beats the rubbed brick waxed curb ! The feeling is great!
There was probably some wax on your trucks from the DIY curb.
I will always choose a DIY curb for feel, noise and build satisfaction, but I can appreciate the portability of the curb covers.
Losing that delicious concrete sound is a major knock against the cover
i made a virgin curb skatebale a couple hours ago for the first time. wonderful video keens.
Grinding concrete feels way more satisfying then grinding those curb covers
Dude, you can go to an industrial shop and buy a painted 6 foot parking block for 40 bucks. You don't need to do anything to it.
I got a curbcover set up in the driveway combos well with my Keen ramps quarter
Curbs out in Cali must just be made with dif concrete. Here in FL I can't seem to get any curbs that buttery with anything.
I would use the curb cover on a more crazy crusty street ledge than a normal butter curb
Take the real curb all day everyday, those covers are rip off,if they sold for reasonable price like 50$ and that's a lot then maybe id try but no way for 200$ id rather wax a curb with my own blood
the 180 50 50 and fakie ollie out was too smooth.
The curb kit Dale was talking about was actually a pretty good idea
East Coast curbs are really all 90º angles, which makes the ledge cover a better option over here (I have both!) 🤘
Corey has mad slap skills. Hope I can get slappy crooks that good one day
Underated tool for getting gnarly curbs and ledges workable for sick lines.
awesome vid. matte finish works too btw, like a charm 👍
did you guys make this curb anywhere in LA? im trying to go skate it lol
I’ll stick to $0.00 curbs slathered in candle wax I took from my wife’s used up candles. That’s real street.
Dope Edit!!
I'd just skate the regular curb, but I understand the appeal for in your parents driveway.
Also GREAT TOL PLACE them over GRIND STOPPERS!.
you could propably make your own curb cover for like 30 bucks tho
Keen products seem pretty decent my only issue is the prices.
Curbs in Missouri do not have that angle 😢
Get a ledge Cover. That's what I have in MO.
Remember the old skol 90 days, wd40, wax, and a lighter. Super Super slippery
Westside LB represent!!!!
I can hear taxpayers b******* about the concrete as you buffet LOLI love this though skating for life

send it brother
Same problem, Didnt have it at 16...
At 40 I in big trouble 😂😂😂😂
Curb kit confirmed 😮
Great idea.
Perfect for when you don't want to chip and wax up "private property"
Which is good for the sport's reputation...
That said - "never stop jumping fences"
This is such a good idea , good bye wax !
B U T T E R !
Sound is like 50% of skating, an it doesn't make a nice sound 😭
Skate a curb for essentially free or pay 200 for one I think I’ll take the free 99 option
This video did a better job of selling the idea to just put some effort into what you want to skate instead of basically a $230 piece of angle iron
But we were advocating for both

Just go to home Depot stop supporting Amazon.

I prefer a "real" curb! DIY
i dont fw creamer
Damn I love your guys products but this is going to far lol just wax a curb and skate it.

So seek
Curbs I skate are usually free?
