  • Rolling that little white ball into that little white hole isn't as hard as you think. The trick is to strike the ball in the same place with the center of the putterface every time. I do it with a pop-style stroke, an old technique that's helped me

    I never leave comments on videos but this time I have to. this changed my putting immediately from the first put, I started dropping the ball in the hole like I knew what I was doing, long, short , breaking whatever it just went in, if it missed it was by centimeters. I never had any lesson or tip that delivered what it promised right from get go like this. THANK YOU

    I have been putting with one hand for a while and had good success but then I would start to doubt it. Now I realize that I was doing the pop stroke with the one hand. Brandt showed that one hand practice at the end of this video. Now I understand that what I like about the one hand stroke is the feel and the pop. Now I will try and integrate my left hand and make same stroke. But I will continue to practice some with the one hand as I do have great feel for putting that way. Thanks Brandt. Nashville rocks. Win a major in 2019!

    I like the brisk nature of everything Brandt does. If you watch his full swing, he shuffles into position, takes a look at his target and then goes. A lot of amateurs could benefit from this approach-- less thinking, less chance you'll get stuck over a putt, pitch, or full swing.

    the trick is learning the feel of pressure in the left hand I love it for my age 67 very short stroke and can hit it 70 feet easily once you get the PRESSURE feeling

    The pop stroke has completely changed my putting averages, living in the UK on slower greens this is the future definitely.
    I feel so confident compared to the last 30 years- that's right 30 years of never knowing what was going to happen on the greens. Totally changed now can't wait to get on the green and Pop them in!!

    The significant difference between putting and all other golf shots is the direction the ball spins: top spin with putts and backspin with all the others. With Driver, irons and wedges using the left arm as the lever arm rotating around the left shoulder creates the ideal biomechanics to create a downward strike on the ball which if on the ground will compress it into the turf, spin it up the face to the degree the loft of the club allows with irons and wedges ( desirable for creating spin lift). But in the putting stoke an upward strike creates the ideal biomechanics and the back right arm with rotation around a stable right shoulder joint being the more effective technique as employed by Brandt and no doubt one of the reasons he puts so well.

  • @nohalfmeasures6

    This is definitely a throwback putting stroke before all the technology and simulations were done. It's a more ideal stroke too for amateur's imo.

    I LOVE the way that Brandt destroys the impression that's been given by mediocre coaches for many years now that 'rocking the shoulders' and 'taking the hands out of the stroke' is the ONLY way to putt well.
    Great putters like Nicklaus, Player, Palmer, Trevino and Casper were always very 'handsy'.
    Maybe if Rory listened to Brandt he's stop putting like a constipated robot and would start winning majors again.

    • @Dreama40
      @Dreama40 6 лет назад +2

      Well said! ppl forget Nicklaus used his right hand a lot to push the ball forwards, he used his shoulders as well, but he definitely "released" the putter head with his hands through the stroke and who can argue with his record! Wristy putting ok? You bet it is!

    • @ysgol3
      @ysgol3 6 лет назад +2

      Dreama - Absolutely. I find it amazing that, as far as I know, NOBODY has tried to copy Jack;s stroke - I always thought he looked fantastic over the ball (always a good sign I think), with his head behind the ball looking down the line.
      I always laugh about Jack's reply when he was asked why he kept his glove on when putting (Trevino id too didn't he ?).
      H simply said, 'I could never see the point of bothering to take it off'.
      You've just got to love him !!

    • @CurtisSimpson
      @CurtisSimpson 5 лет назад

      I think the same goes for Jordan Spieth. He has gone to the left hand low technique and he had a poor year with it. I thought he putted great with his hands (left hand high) early in his career.

    If you play the video in slow motion at .25 it appears that the putter head only gets ahead slightly on the back swing, stays there and the forward motion is more shoulders than hands. Tried it that way and it worked much better

    • @teddythodo3302
      @teddythodo3302 7 лет назад +6

      Feel is not real. He feels as though the putter head takes over, but in reality when performing it, it actually looks like everything moves in one piece. I have tried this method and it is really good for distance control because you can take it back to wherever you think is enough, make your stroke and stop as soon as you hit the ball. It's a weird feeling but distance control is a lot better

  • @pjackowspa

    This putting stroke is better suited to the average, amateur player because they rely more on feel and natural hand eye coordination.
    You only develop feel in the modern putting stroke through the practice and repetition that only tour pros and top amateurs can give.
    I’ve switched to the pop stroke after watching Gary Player on the putting green at ST Andrews this year and my putting has improved immensely

    How can that method work on a 12.5 (stemp) downhill put without causing a chip back off the green ???????

    • @11Morphy
      @11Morphy 5 лет назад +2

      On those quick downhill putts you would still use the same putting stroke, but use less back-swing. Sometimes if the slope is severely steep, hit the putt off of the toe or the very tip of the putter to "kill" the pace. Sort of like nudging the ball to the hole. This is a situation where you can't be robotic and need a creative approach or just make sure you hit your approach shot below the flag stick.👌

    The state doesn't control property tax - which makes these ads confusing and misleading. Ned Lamont can't raise property taxes - how would he? What he campaigned on was a state tax credit for lower income individuals. That $700 proposal didn't get passed. So that's not an increase in taxes. If your property taxes went up $2000 - there's no way you were going to be eligible for a low income tax credit.
