The 'Pendulum' motion was drilled into me when I was younger and I have always been a terrible putter. I am so tired of hearing people say 'you have a great putting technique!' despite the fact that I can't hole putts to save my life. Can't wait to use my wrists a bit and get better feel, maybe I'll start sinking some putts!
@@icanmoonwalk7378 I bought a putting mat so that I could practice daily. I putt 50 to 100 3 to 8ft putts a day. I am sinking more putts inside 8ft than I have ever before and am now so much more confident that I can roll one close and 2 putt. I have also made some other tweaks (grip, posture, eyeline) and all together it is paying off.
Agree. I've been told I have the best putting stroke in the club, to which I reply it's the most under-performing putting stroke in the club. I'm going to try the wrists!
I've been locking my wrist forever and Im just terrible at putting. Watched a video by Dan Alton talking about releasing the putter by using your wrist and my mind was blown. Like this video it helped me tremendously. Good luck everyone in your putting journey.
I completely agree with this. I found I was putting better with one arm and was determined to figure out why. I recorded in slow mo and noticed with one arm I was naturally releasing the club more under its own weight, rising through impact and striking the ball around the equator. When putting two handed, I was driving the handle forward and striking the ball under the equator with a level or descending angle. As soon as I loosened up and let the wrists release naturally under the falling weight of the club, I suddenly started putting great! I guess it’s similar to what Dan Grieve talks about when it comes to chipping?
Great vid! Golf is a technical sport based on feeling and using wrists increases this feeling and allows muscles to be more relax. Finally, gain of consistency and accuracy, better tempo making things casier , best way to happiness !!
Hahahahaha. This is incredible. I’ve been putting for decades incorrectly. I made a shit load of putts using this, saving par, making birdies and even more proximity to the whole lag putting. Thank you 🙏
Seve said it best: For short putts (6 ft or less) don't use wrists and use a straight-back-straight-through putting stroke. For longer putts where you need to generate power, use wrists and let the putterhead swing back inside.
I had the worst putting round of my life yesterday. I had to come back and do some homework, this video is all i needed.
I just deleted ALL my other putting videos that I had saved. This is the ONLY one I need! Thanks so much!
You're welcome!!
Great instruction will try the technique tomorrow!
Great! Thanks, mate!
Thanks for the video. I got the feel or I found the feel. It is very important to use wrist.
Absolutely!
Thanks for watching 👍

Results?

@@B.Rights Glad to hear. I will try adding some wrist break.

Great lesson again. 😀You make it easy to understand 😀👍
Thanks! 😃
I like the wrist movement for feel. thanks
Thanks 👍

Absolutely! Allowing the club's weight to guide your stroke can make all the difference. Thanks for sharing 👍
Good point, it would give you more control on those step down hill puts as in how hard you hit it
Valid point 👍 why don’t more instructors discuss this method.

Can I do what you say using the arm lock method?? Thanks
I felt consistency with moving the right wrist kinda like a “lag”. It’s like gravity squares the putter face for me.
Me too

Love to hear it! Happy to help 🙌

What do you tell people who use the claw grip?
Bobby Jones would agree .
👍
Thanks for the visit 👍
Shoulder putting was a huge mistake. So much better being a wrist putter.
I completely agree 👍
I've been copying Donald Trump's putting stroke. Am I on the right track?
He seems to hole a lot...
If you follow him for anything you're for sure on the right track...
He gives himself every putting under 2m.
Learn to lag
Too much talk. Not enough demonstration.
No you're just useless
👍
Thanks for the visit 👍
