  • Here's a little comparison between two fantastic pickup builders, Benson Custom and Bootstrap. The Bensons are brand new, the Bootstraps have been in my Strat for a couple of years. Both are amazing. Which do you prefer?

I like both, but to my ear I think the Bootstraps have more punch, sound more Stratty, or have more body, if that makes sense.
I found your demo doing a search for Bootstrap pickups. I have a set of Vintage sparkles in my modded Squire and really like them. I also have a Strat with Texas Specials and I've tried to like them but it hasn't happened. I prefer the tone of my $40 (before upgrades) pawn shop Squire over the US Strat and want something else. I've just never liked them, but so far I do like the Golden Ale, and of course the Vintage Sparkles. I use a .033uF cap and a Kinman treble bleed. I highly recommend the Kinman over other treble bleed mods.
Thanks for the demo! I'd be interested to know which set you stay with.
