What a great kid. Calm and able to help quickly. Another article about this stated that Dillion doesn't have a cell phone and is, therefore, more aware of his surroundings. Instead of staring at a screen all the time he has actually paid attention to the driver what the driver does during his trip home every day. He knew exactly what to do in this situation, Thanks, Dillon, for your quick action and saving many from injuries or worse.

He told someone to call 911, phones help with dialing that too. And I don't bring my phone with me on the bus but I wouldn't know what to do if that situation happened. But of course ur gonna blame the kids saying they keep staring at the phone. Not realizing the parents gave them that phone.

It doesn't matter if you take your phone with you on the bus because, as you said and I quote, you "wouldn't know what to do if that situation happened." Yes, parents get the phones for the kids. The kids, however, all ages, don't know how to live in the real world without them. Sometimes it's good to look up and look around instead of staring at a screen 24/7.

The kid is the hero as he saved the bus driver whom, passed out and all the kids on the bus. The bus driver tried her best, she did nothing wrong. She was doing her best to pull over but sadly she was unable to do that. This kid jumped into action to avoid a bad collision that could have been a horrible outcome. So no kudos to the kid, he is the real MVP , the hero. Give the credit where it deserves to be given.
The bus driver didn't ignore the sign. Dylan might be in serious trouble if the bus driver tries to push through and passed out while the bus speeding on the road.
Dylan not only saved the bus drivers life, but he saved the lives of all those kids on the bus. Dylan also stopped other accidents that could have happened and took the lives of others in traffic. Dylan is the only hero, and I'm proud of this 13 year old.

This is why situational awareness is so important. There are grown men and women who do not have any. To be aware of your surroundings at such a young age and then be the one that steps up says everything and that is why he can remain silent.

It was good that he paid attention to the bus driver so when she lost consciousness and ran a stop sign, Dylan was able to pull the bus over to safety. That bus has an engine cover that is right between the driver and the stairway. The fact that he was able to squeeze his foot into such a tight space and gently apply those air brakes without everybody flying forward is incredible. 😮

Pro tip: Pull the yellow knob on the dashboard that says "Parking Brake". It will pop up and allow the parking brakes to apply. They should be able to stop the vehicle.
