Don’t underestimate hobby nerds and their propensity to watch movie length videos about their specific nerddom! TGV I really like this format with yourself and Marc. I'll be honest I've been a fan for years and there's been ups and down and a lot of noise within the RUclips watch community as I'm sure you're all too aware of, but this is where I think you're at your strongest. Just talking watches and allowing your passion to show through. You're not a technical guy that talks specs and nuances of movements like some but you love what you love and that has to be commended and applauded. Here's to more of this format and just of you being you. Great work

A perfect video for a rainy Sunday afternoon. My favorites: SARB033 (regret selling it, planning on repurchasing), SARB017, Flighty (putting it up for sale but having second thoughts now), Blumo (sold it, I wish Seiko reissue a smaller case), SKXs (owned and sold 007, 009, 013, but thinking of getting an 013 again, on the lookout for 015), 1960s Lord Marvel low beat arabic numerals no date (gave this to my gf but borrowing it from time to time), 1960s Bellmatic 4006 7012, and 1960s Panda 6138. I love this format with Mark, TGV. Keep it coming!

Favourite Seiko: Tuna! Nothing else quite like it. Iconic Seiko.
Pet peeve: the Sarb033 clasp on the bracelet, the huge tunnel it has when closed. Best bang for buck watch out there and it’s only true negative.

Favorite Seiko...I bought a 1974 Seiko LM which was the first watch I bought when I was 17 and had just joined the Army....I am passing it on to my Grandson. I also bought a 57 Omega Seamaster, for the year after I was born..to pass down...
I love your content and your collaborations with Marc. He sold me a 1963 Zinjuan...I love it and I tried to mod a SKX 007J I bought from him , with his additions to look like his Squale....on the white band....you both are my two favorite content creators and in my old age I have fallen in love with watches again.

SKX007J1 hands down. I bought my first one in 1979 and was wearing it while I was working on jets in Germany. The bracelet was the cheap two-prong variety and I bumped the watch against a wing pylon and it went sailing through the air for twenty feet and bounced across the tarmac for another 5 feet. The watch didn't miss a beat. I wore it for another 15 years until my ex took it in a divorce. My second one is 20 years old and is finally going to Seiko for a service. I received my third one today so I could wear it while the second one is at Seiko. I always enjoy these videos, please keep them coming. Cheers

Seiko will always be my favorite watch brand. They got me into watches, and they keep me in the hobby.
Of all the watches I currently own, probably my SBBN037 blue Tuna is my favorite, but I do have the SNA411 Flighty as well, and my SRP777 Turtle wants a mention since I wear it often enough. Of the watches I don't own, I'm really loving the 2020 Astron models (thinking REALLY hard about pulling the trigger...), and the Grand Seiko SBGX335 quartz. I also really dig things with historical importance (the first Astron, for example) even if I don't otherwise like the aesthetics or wouldn't wear the watch for some reason.
As for things I dislike about watches, well, probably just people that are excessively snobby about it. Watch collecting is very much a to-each-their-own kind of hobby, with no objective direction one must take, so it's always vomit inducing to listen to some prick talk about how awesome something they have is, and how something another person owns is garbage just because they don't like it for X reason. That sort of person can be found in literally every hobby, of course.

Favorite Seiko: SARB035; Pet Peeve: Watches sold for a specific gender. They should simply be classified by case diameter, weight, and so on. Most so-called "women's watches" are boring dress pieces anyway, and if you want something fresh, adventurous, or athletic, you have to look at the men's models.

Favorite Seikos would be the four that I own.
1: SNKK71 - My first mechanical watch, bought about a year ago after the Tokyoflash watch I had previously used became inoperable. It was on sale at Amazon right when I was looking at replacements and I couldn't pass up the price even if I was really after something more visually interesting.
2: The Flighty- More visually interesting than the SNKK71. Learned about it from this channel and I'm eternally amused by the slide rule bezel. Thankfully I found a 21mm leather strap for it. Actually wore it earlier today.
3: A blue Cocktail Time- Absolutely wonderful dial. This is one of the three watches I've had a woman comment on, the others being an out there Mr. Jones Watch where the hands are a Kraken's tentacles grabbing sailors and my old Tokyoflash that was also really out there.
4: Grand Seiko SBGH269- This was a grail watch the moment I saw it. Even among GS dials, this one stands out with its bold shade of red. It became a pandemic purchase after some Tesla stock I picked up a few years back as a gamble really paid off. Sold two shares, bought this, have only worn other watches 2 or 3 days since.

I've always wanted a luxury watch but couldn't justify the price. That's why I turned to gussl, and I'm so glad I did. Their replica watches look and feel just like the real thing, but at a fraction of the cost.

I have enjoyed many Urban Gentry videos and have bought two really good watches from Marc. Thank you both! My all time favorite Seikos are from the completely unheralded SGE line. These are quartz models with very accurate movements. They have steady and properly registering second hands. Most watches with the SGE prefix have sapphire glass, 100m of water resistance, and screw-down case backs. The dials and case finishes are the equal of more expensive Seikos, but you can usually get most of the SGEs for less than a hundred dollars. They even have respectable bracelets and straps. My favorite watch is the Seiko SGEH49P2. It is like a bigger, bolder version of the SARB 033 for about 1/5 the price. There's also the SGEG93. The SGEG93 has a family resemblance to the SARB 035 but it's still its own man. And the SGEG97P, with its stunning Roman numeral silver dial and red leather strap, is the working man's Breguet. Check out photos of these watches on the Internet, although they look even better in person. Regarding complaints about watches, I don't like sterile dials. I don't like clasps that don't have enough microadjustments. And I don't like day complications, especially where the whole day is spelled out at 12 o'clock.

Hmmm I haven’t fully understand that accutron 2020 yet but based on my knowledge, if spring drive is between quartz and mechanical but more mechanical, that sccutron is towards more quartz, but I haven’t get how that really works but somehow I got confused with a kinetic movement....

I absolutely truly adore this series. I had my kids sit with me and watch today and they aren't even in to watches. They really enjoyed learning about a little history behind your picks and I myself own The OG Orange Monster (Son loves it and daughter absolutely hates it) and SKK 007 which I purchased both from Long Island Watch. Can't wait for the next video.

I started to indulge my interest in watches 6 months ago, and my biggest problem is I cannot get away from Seiko. Whenever I look for a new watch, I am always led back to Seiko. My first chrono is on the order now. It was between the Guiardo and flighty. I went with the Guiardo, SCED055. Really just because it's so different from others I have, and a nice minalist look, and perhaps a good summer choice. I'm still really into the FLTY , but didn't want to complete with my SKX that I am still in love with. Thanks for you input guys, you are my go to watch experts. We have similar tastes.

1.My kinetic, black dial, all stainless steel, day/date, 200m diver that I'm sure no one else cares about. It is the first watch I bought with my own money and it's also the perfect one watch collection even though I didn't realize that when I bought it and I nevertheless didn't manage to keep my collection to one.

Great video Guys! BTW TGV...Mille Grazie for the tip to use Saltzman’s in RI for restoration work. With my first Navy paycheck in October 1984, I purchased a Seiko 7A28-7039 Chronograph exactly like the one from the print ad on this video...Evan Saltzman’s folks did a full overhaul and refurbishment bringing it to 9+ condition. Perfect, save the tasteful submarine ding on the bezel. I waited 20 years to find the right watchmaker to do the job. Good to go for another 36 years. Ciao Amico!

My favourite seiko is the Seiko Sumo Black. Reason being that it epitomizes the versatility of having just one watch for all purposes. With that you can dress up or down. It goes well with formal as well as casual.

Good evening guys and great video and yes I did sit and watch the whole thing 😋 . I have several hobbies and when it comes to collecting something for any of them I don't jump on the usual bandwagon most everyone else does and I look at it like I don't want something that everyone has already had or still has. I'm always on the lookout for the weird quirky things that stand out that catch my eye that you usually don't see in most people don't have that find their way into my collections. I don't have a particular favorite but one of the things up near the top of my list of favorites is still the first gen monster. As far as pet peeves go, I'm gonna have to go with busy or skeleton dials, for me one of the first things I take into consideration is legibility, visibility and contrast. If I have to look at a dial and decipher it every time I glance at this silly thing I know it's not my cup of tea. Thanks for all the great work guys I know we all appreciate it 😇

Love your videos and this wonderful hobby you two have introduced into my life. Cheers!

Good to know the gurus liked the Casio IR Remote (1995). Mine worked with 50% of tv sets around, even VCRs. Had so much fun at restaurants with it. Now I need to find it!
I used to love such functional watches. I also had one with video games (1996) and one with a gas lighter (2000- I grew up).

Watched it all through as well as all previous ones before. I don't regret this time at all. Great work guys (assuming making it was great fun as well). I'm happy I found 3 pieces out of the 10 which I experienced during my watch-enthusiast career...Two of them, the Snow Flake and SKX I still have - they will stay with me for ever.
