Dear Owner and Maintainer of this channel. I would like to thank you for putting up so many wonderful videos - videos that take me back to the 6 wonderful years I spent in The Netherlands. One suggestion: If you can add a route map - ideally synchronized with the video - alongside the video, it would be great to follow the route. Secondly, if you can also have the names of the streets constantly displayed on the video, then the chances of missing them are eliminated. I do see that you are doing these for some of the more recent videos and do very much appreciate it. Thanks again - for all the arm-chair pleasure of touring The Netherlands and also for the sake of recording history. 🙏
@@amcaesar Yes. Different eyes make us see better. A lot of things go unnoticed until someone else points it out. And than it gets hard to 'unsee' them.
I've often used this route. You begin by the central station, but the signage for the F344 doesn't begin until you get to Ossenveld, and the route between the two stations doesn't seem to meet the standards for a 'Fast Cycle Route'. I wonder if there is a plan to improve this section and introduce signage? The cycle path by the railway bridge over the Ijssel is indeed far too narrow; I guess it's quite old. The view over Deventer from this bridge is wonderful, and I often want to stop and take a photo or two from here, which isn't always very comfortable.
i rode it for the first time last month and i thought it was an absolute joke that this is called a Fast Cycle Route. It just follows the provincial car road, nothing special.
Thank you for these videos. Would you be willing to share how you record them? I would like to start recording some trips around my city but the equipment I have currently is very shaky.
@@BicycleDutch I agree, but in these cases I find Wikipedia a better translator. Since we're looking for a translation of the 'concept' rather than the word. So it's better to go to the Dutch Wikipedia of Bebouwde Kom; nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bebouwde_kom And then click English; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Built-up_area_(Highway_Code) Although, as this example beautifully demonstrates, that may not be the entire story. Since the English article refers to "UK Highway Code", but I've heard it referred to as the build-up area by people from the NA continent (like on NJB's channel) as well. So it's probably 'build-up area')
These cycling videos never seem to last as long as the timestamp suggests.
The time just flies (and rattles and squeaks) by.
A bicyckle that rattles and squeaks is called a "rammelkast"
And so does the journey itself....little sight seeing and you're at your destination before you know it.
I live in Deventer and my children in Apeldoorn. I cycle this route regularly.
Thanks Mark, another lovely ride. I just love them, the best way to spend some time and enjoy the routes and scenery.
Wonderful. What a gorgeous ride. Thanks for sharing.

In the description there is a link to the blog,, where you can find a route map.
Thanks much! Great ride today and such a wonderful view of Nederland.
The Laan van Ossenveld underpass is at last working, which is quite an improvement.
43:34 An actually good looking rail station
Nice. Love your cycling video. Wish I can work in the Netherlands so that I can enjoy cycling there.
Every time I see "Deventer" my brains fills in "Denver."
Sorry to break your connection, the Dutch name is pronounced as:
Day van ter
Last syllable like the last of 'enter'
Something like: Dave-enter
@@dutchman7623 Oh sure, but it looks different to American eyes.

Apeldoorn-Denver would be an impressive cycle path route :D
It looks like going up the bridge at 6:15 was tough.
Well yes. Inclines were very difficult with my heart condition.

Apparently i missed some signs. it's unclear where it starts in Apeldoorn anyway.
Beautiful city.
The bromfiets would piss me off on a cycle track...
I cycled from Maastricht to rome xD and its not a joke
Why It would be a joke?

Judging from 7:01 I would guess that he uses a GoPro that is attached to the handlebar, especially because the images seem quite stable nonetheless
@@tyomoxdoubtful, the recording quality is quite low.
Just an FYI, 'bebouwde kom' is 'city limits'
No it isn’t. context.reverso.net/vertaling/nederlands-engels/binnen+de+bebouwde+kom

This is surely not Terry Barentsen🙂🙂
Haha. I cam from Terry's video to these types of videos. Funny how the algorithm works
iedereen staat op de fietspad geparkeerd...
Seems like it, but that is not a cycle path. (No bicycle symbols). That street seems to be in transition, those red strips will disappear I expect.
Huh where I dont see that

42:45 needs to learn some manners. Cutting in, spitting, and then slowing up.
