    Thank you for your sharing!
I just got one and they are absolutely stunning plants. Just curious. Have anyone hybridised the regal shield as an experiment before?

I think because odora and Black Velvet are from different subsections I’m not sure these are even fertile. Where I’m from there is a native Alocasia, brisbanensis. It was alway thought to be part of the macrorrrhizos section. My Al.brisbanensis x macrorrhizas are mules but my odoras x brisbanensis are fertile. It’s a matter of chromosome count.

What are your thoughts about growing indoors in a bit smaller pots? What are you using for potting media?
    Thanks

Hi there, you can grow Indoors plants in general will stretch out a bit more looking for light unless it's a very well lighted area in the house. They also can be more prone to some pests so keep that in mind and monitor the plant close. It really due to no rain to wash off the pests. Potting them use a good aired mix yet still hardy. All you do is water less. You don't want the fertlizer just washing out through the soil and not uptaking in the roots system. Also if near a windows spin the plant once every 2 weeks so it doesn't bend to one side for light. Any questions message me on Facebook and please feel free to join my BigLeafTropicals page on Facebook. Thank you.

I’d expect the leave to be a little velvety considering one of the parents is black velvet. The other parent is odora, do these have fragrant blooms please ?

Wow you have so many. I have one growing indoor and the leaves are getting smaller. Do you have any idea why it's doing this?
