Also, it's not a 'cheat' device, rather a way for them to do things perfectly [in a way that no human could do]. Also, doing a TAS requires a solid understanding of the game and its mechanics. You often find that the people who make these are actually really knowledgeable about the game they're playing.

i dont quite understand how tas works. if you can play it frame by frame. how do you record it normal speed.
The reason why I like Toon Link more in Brawl and Smash 4 than Big Boy Link is Because Link has the Storm Boomerang which is pretty much useless for me, I prefer to have more "Get Off Me" Moves than "Get over Here"
And a Side B that doesnt make you move further or doesnt push your enemies away is rather odd for someone like me.
The Hookshot is fine Because this is the only useful "Get Over Here" Move for a Link and Toon Link Main like me but I prefer to use the Boomerang to prevent myself from getting Edgeguarded.
Luckily in Ultimate Big Boy Link has a regular Boomerang but it is sad that he doesnt have a Hookshot and Toon Link doesnt have a Double F-Smash anymore

What controller do you use?
No silly, TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) is done by actual people that use special equipment that gives them more reflex and shows them frames in advanced to give them time to calculate each move.
This should be renamed a Toon Link combo video

This is Tool-Assisted, so it's easily possible, it just takes a large amount of time to prepare something like this. It's not like this is a person playing in real time xD

is that all your TAS toon link could do? Toon Link was my first "best" character. Back when I was really good at Brawl, I could do so much better than that, except the target test, I am not much good at that.

Yes a TAS is a non-human playing, but a person must program it so the TAS will do it, i mean, like you tell the TAS what to do, which movement or hit it must perform and the TAS will do it just as programmed, so no human mistakes exist, like getting nervous and doing something hastened or like that.
It would have been funny how in the end when the link trophy falls, it just shows everyone dead behind it.

theyre pushing the game to it's limits by eliminating the human factor (reaction time, finger speed, etc) to get the ultimate speedrun

It's tool assisted speedrun... but other than that... basically you use savestates and slow-mo to get everything "perfect".
