- When you arrive at a hotel and open your room, don’t rush to open your bags and put all the clothes onto the shelves. Better place your bags into the bathtub. Why? A hotel is a place where lots of people stay every day and you never know what they carry with them...
Here're 22 hotel tips and tricks that will save you time and nerves. You'll find out why there's a phone in the bathroom in some hotels. Also, why many hotels only accept credit cards as a form of payment, and without one you won’t be able to book a room. And why you need to think twice if you’re thinking about putting your valuables in the safe for security...

WOW! I think I will just stay home.
Yep or take inflatable beds and pillows in small bag when ever you go ...or if hotels carry such item and offer it as an extra charge... and for cleaning tubs ...
“no bugs are able to survive there.” Cockroaches, spiders, water beatles i mean… we can go on and on. 😂
Came to comments for this!
You’re making me not want to take a bath again😂😂
Stoneflies earwig
Chills down my spine
I am terrified of spiders
A lot of hotels do use fitted sheets. If you're unsure...ask for a linen change and fresh pillows. Most places won't have an issue with it.
Keep in mind though, the carpets are only shampooed a few times a year. So be wary of the hotel carpets.
I'm accustomed to removing my shoes indoors and caught athletes foot from hotel carpet.
@@marcanthony351 yeah definitely be careful walking around barefoot. Shower shoes or slippers. I'm sorry that happened.
After working at 4 different hotels over 4 years I would say this information is accurate.
To anybody who's reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the darks thoughts, the overthinking, the doubt exit your mind right now. May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life

A Hotel’s cleanliness and upkeep does depend on the brand and ownership. The large chains have the highest standards. You can pay much less at a budget motel only to regret that decision upon entering the room and wondering when was the last time the comforter was washed. I’ve worked in hotels and stayed in hundreds. I never brought my belongings into a room without fully inspecting every inch of it first. My best experiences as a guest were Hampton Inn’s & Holiday Inn’s. As an employee having worked for independently owned properties, Chains, and a WDW Resort, I would not feel the need to inspect a room at a Disney Resort. This video is informative for anyone that has not worked in Hospitality.
This also includes cruise ships as well for checking your room.
Hi, how’re you doing
Yess, absolutely...
I also go in and wipe down things I’m going to touch for a better since of mind. Remotes, lights, etc

I've stated in my fair share of hotels, and I can't remember having any problems. A few minor things here and there, like a burnt out light, or maybe some dust on the air vents but other than that. Many hotels will do a deep clean of the rooms anywhere from every few months to once a year. How often do you shampoo your carpets in your home? Sanitize your matress, clean out your cupords and wash everything? Wash curtains? Sanitize your remote/phone? We are comfortable in our own home and we are under the impression that our homes are sanitary because they are our homes, but your home could be more unhygienic and have more bacteria than that hotel room.
Do you have steel luggage 🧳 or luggage that’s not made of fabric for bed bugs to cling onto 🐜
People that you fly with all stay in different hotels and motels 🏨 and then they toss **your** baggage in with everyone on your flights checked baggage 🧳
Brilliantly observed Becky. Every hotel I've ever stayed in certainly has a lot less dust/bacteria than my home.
I think you mean well by saying that but we cannot compare our homes to hotels. This is what they do for a living. For sure everything should be clean. I expected to be that.
@@peggyjones9080 my post wasn't about if hotels should be clean. Of course they should be. The point is that you could have more dirt and bacteria in your home than that hotel room
A habit of mine is always spraying lyslol, ask for clean fresh linens and wipe down everything lol
Mine as well!
Wait, what does the narrator mean when he says no bugs will survive in a bathtub?, in the summertime, often the first place you'll see a waterbug or roach is specifically in the tub, they love moisture, all that's going to happen is that you'd go back to the bathroom and may even attract bugs there!
These actors are everything! 😂😂😂
If I'm driving out of town and I take in a hotel. I usually bring my own comforter and sheet set. It's always a local Walmart around. And you can pick up a bed in a bag very quickly. For a reasonable price. 🙆🏽♀️

All hotels I ever word change the sheets on client checkout, and depending on the number of stars change from every day to every 3 days during same client stay... Towels are only changed if client places them on the floor, there is a card informing this procedure...

Your statement is partially true 50/50! Hotels don't change blankets nor duvets, nor change out unused towels left from previous guest! This is what you didnt mention,.. The other 1/2

Put your bags in the bathtub, but be sure to get rid of the shark first.
I think one thing to consider is the hotel your staying in. For example, when I travel, I try to stay in Holiday Inns because at least for me, I've never had any real issues (I think the worst might have been some mold in the corner of the bathroom from a chipped tile) but nothing major like bed bugs or unclean areas. So considering where and who you stay with (in terms of hotels) can be important and beneficial. Some hotel chains are better about cleaning than others.
Never use the comforter, or duvet on the bed, and always put your luggage on a counter or the luggage rack provided (after you've checked the room). I never leave things (even my shoes) on the floor and don't want barefoot around your hotel room. Some people put towels down, which may seem a bit extreme, but at least wear socks or better yet, bring sandals for walking around the room, and a lot of hotels now use sealed plastic cups instead of glassware or non-disposable cups, which I prefer because as long as the plastic is intact, it's probably safe to drink out of.
If you're really paranoid, you can buy some disinfecting spray and spray down your room if you want. Some hotels chains provide cleaning wipes in the room but you could also buy those too. But again I think cleanliness will depend on the chain and the country or location you're staying. For example, staying in some third-world countries may not have the same cleanliness policies as say 3 or 4 star hotel in the US.

LOL - I've worked at a hotel for about 15 years. I've never heard of the "key bombing" thing, why would I go out of my way to create more work for myself and give you more reason to be rude to me? Guests do that to themselves pretty often though, especially with multiple people,. One key gets lost or stops working for whatever reason and they get a new key without telling the others, so. the new key reprograms the door, the other keys no longer work, so new keys are made again, the door gets reprogramed again...and on and on. Of course, it's MY fault that "their door never works" Also, the bit about searching guests on social media - maybe in really high end places it might happen? But I can't imagine staff at your average hotel having either the time or desire for something like that. We're already overworked and we don't care that much. It MIGHT happen if you're causing unusual problems but generally a call to the police is enough to handle that.
Better bring a back light to scan the bedding, curtains, carpet, & any flat surfaces.
Disinfectant wipes for all flat surfaces, bathroom area, & refrigerator.
Your consistency and quality of content never disappoints! love you

I bought steel luggage, so, I won’t experience carrying bed bugs to my house bed 🛌 ever again ✅💝🙌
Wow man interesting dude
I always carry room sanitizer in my bag and sanitize the room and bathroom even if hotelier says it is clean. Secondly a fully charged powerbank. Thirdly immediately after checking in I take cell phone numbers of some resident staffs so that I can call them in emergency if room intercom fails.
Great idea re staff phone numbers for emergencies.
I always sanitizer the room for the reasons mentioned
Wear flip flops when showering, athletes foot from tubs. Learned that in Army.

I have stayed in a few hotels where there was just a shower and no tub.
The theory of the bathtub thing. Supposedly bed bugs cannot crawl on a slippery surface. Not sure if it’s effective though
Never i use towels in the hotels, i brought my own everytime i go in a vacation/short vacation!
Towel’s in hotels are also use for floor cleaning in the floor toilet
Janitors should not be using guest towels to clean floors.
Modern hotels have easy-care tiled or panelled floors, no drawers or cupboards which can be closed. That way you can't forget anything when you leave.
how does the additional charges go to the bank "and everybody happy" you still have to pay that

I staying with a friend so should I still put my suitcase in the tub?
Got nothing to write so here is pancake recipe:
Ingredients
• 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
• 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder
• ¼ teaspoon salt, or more to taste
• 1 tablespoon white sugar
• 1 ¼ cups milk1 egg
• 3 tablespoons butter, melted
Process
Step 1
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
Step 2
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.
Enjoy!
Waao! It turned to 🎂🎂🎂

DO NOT PUT YOUR BAGS ON THE BED.
I'm thrilled that my travelling days are behind me. When I consider the COST, hassle, and health risks, the only way I'd travel now is the way the Queen travels - everything is done and paid for by someone else. If I could just get up, get dressed, get in a waiting vehicle which takes me directly to a PRIVATE jet and stay at my destination in a thoroughly cleaned accommodation, perhaps I'd consider heading south for the winter. Otherwise... I STAY HOME... after all I've paid hundreds of thousands for a nice house... why go someplace else?
Break up the monotonous routine.
@@electricheartpony
There are a LOT of ways to get rid of boredom than spending buckets of money on travel.
When I was young, travel was an adventure - inexpensive, hassle free and safe. In other words, FUN. Yes, a passport was required for entry to far off lands but I never heard of a visa, work or otherwise.
There's nothing "fun" about paying through the nose to be treated like cattle and worrying about being ripped off by thieves... or worse!
I just laugh when I see the herds all lined up at airports with so much luggage you'd think they were moving. And boy... do they ALL LOOK VERY BORED and ANNOYED.
Great fun!
@@rae0521 travel doesn't have to be expensive. My average vacation costs me three hundred total for everything.
@@electricheartpony
That's affordable. Of course, to know what you consider an "average vacation" would be rather key to understanding how you do it. It can't include travel by air or rail or hotel/motel accommodation or many restaurant meals or quality entertainment.
It helps to compare apples to apples, not raisins to watermelons.
@@rae0521 it includes air travel. You might be surprised how little tickets can go for. My next trip is from Florida to Seattle. This one is going to cost 350 total. The food will come from grocery store to be shared cost with a roommate.
Since you have an expensive house, I'll assume that you have a credit card. Might as well get one that has travel perks and then pay off the bill every month so no interest. Everyone in your party going to pay for a restaurant bill in cash? Offer to use your card and take the cash.
I sight see with a bike on vacations or it's a convention. It's about splitting costs.
The following trip will cost me 150. Staying with a friend who's paid for my plane ticket. That being said, without it being paid would've been about 300. From Florida to Denver.
Hello everyone
RESORT fees are not always included, even if you book in advance and pay in advance! Beware of this especially for Las vegas. Many will give you a total with tax, but state you have to pay a resort fee (which is usually a set fee, and I don't think it's factored as part of the tax so it wouldn't impact actual tax paid on the stay). I just remember once booking a room at the Bellagio for $150 plus tax, and then having to pay a $40 resort fee on top of that (of course $225 for a night at the Bellagio isn't bad).
