I would have liked to see the video from a few days ago when he wasnt so good!. My cickapoo is an obsessuve sniffer, ill try the lift the head up whwn i take him out later. Ty
I'm going to give this a try. My ACD is now 3 years old. She's got the most training of all my dogs before her. She's great in everything but walking. She's always ahead of me at the end of the leash. She does not care about corrections. No matter how long or short the leash is, she has to be at the end of it. She's doing a little better with a slip leash for 3/4 of the walk but at the end she's pulling ahead. I've watched countless videos and tried many different ideas, none have worked so far.
@@KugaeGundogs OMG thank you , thank you, thank you! I've been doing this for 3 days now. Even on the first day she got it right away. It took some concentration from me to correct her whenever her head went down to sniff. I didn't realize how much she was following her nose! Today, I had to correct her 5x on an hour long walk, and it was because we went a route she was not familiar with. I can't believe, after 3 years of hating taking her for walks, I really enjoyed it. I've watched so many videos about this loose leash walking, and tried so many different "methods" and this is the only thing that really helped. I can't thank you enough!!!
@@Moni-ui5bz Hi, thank you very much for your comment. We believe in providing honest & realistic training - that works! Enjoy your dog and many lovely walks together. 🥰
Hi, thanks for your comment. You first correct the dog on the lead and once you are satisfied and the dog is not sniffing and heel work is good then drop the lead and eventually remove the lead. Do it in 3 stages. If it goes wrong then revert back to the previous stage and persevere.
i can see a massive change in my cocker, its good and he does well, just struggling with postion, he tends to keep going ahead a bit, no amount of correction seems to sort this only a direction change, any tips on how i can get the postion right?
Hi, thanks for your comment. Sort out the sniffing first, it can take a few weeks to really drill it down then concentrate on the position. You can try a shorter lead or turn around sharper. Try this. Keep up the hard work it will be worth it. Spaniels are not natural retrievers.
You and Mordor gundogs are my go to channels ! tnx !
Excellent video--thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and we appreciate your comment. ☺

I missed the part of the video where you taught him to walk to heel. I didn’t see him pulling much at the beginning either 🤷♂️
We will do another video that is more in depth on the heel work so please keep watching and thank you for your comment.
@@KugaeGundogsI’ll look forward to this video too. Thanks.
Can you do that with a 3 year old springer?
Hi, yes you can do this with a dog at any age. The older the dog is the more bad habits they might have but it will work with perseverance.
Oh, if only!
Consistence is the key - you will get there! Thanks for watching.
in Seconds/? 😀
How does this work when the dog is unleashed
