In the outdoor test I couldn't tell the difference. Indoors I preferred B, the Rode, since it seemed to give a better base response. But, if I were to buy, it would be the Deity because of greater functionality in being able to attach a second mic. For now, I'll stick with my lav (PurplePanda) which is better than both IMO.
The best comparation I’ve ever watched about these 2 mics. It’s fair that the Deity is slightly better outside, and they are on par indoor. For me I will go for Deity for the extra cable and the extra input hole. Thank you
I thought mic A was deity bc of the other reviews I saw people commenting the same thing. Thank you for the blind test. It helped me listen it on an unbiased way. I also couldn't hear a difference on the indoor test and the first scene when they were both catching a lot more ambient noise. I only noticed the difference on the ones when your voice was more prominent and in one of the directions the A mic was catching more wind noise.
Such a thorough comparison-- super helpful, thank you! I can't believe how close they are in sound, that surprised me.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this great video, Phil. The comparison is well made. Thank you for your work and time. Best regards, Sven
My pleasure!
Great video! Keep up the good work. 👍

Great video, thanks and keep it up man. :)
for me, it was more or less impossible to hear a difference. in one instance at 2:30, I had a slight better bassy volume-impression on mic A.
Yeah, it is extremely close. I think almost too close to call.
Mic A was slightly better. I guessed right. And I prefer the side out cable setup, more low profile.
Mic A had better voice, but worse wind performance.
